Macbeth Research Paper
What qualities makes a person good or bad? Researchers of psychology define evil as, “dehumanization, diffusion of responsibility, obedience to authority, unjust systems, group pressure, moral disengagement, and annuity.” These reasons along with background information of a subject helps to identify why a subject may turn evil. Unfortunately, finding a clear cut definition for good was not as easy for researchers. According to the five year study of world-renowned psychologist, Philip Zimbardo and his colleagues, they were able to break up what they found the making of a “good” person to be. “Simply put, then, the key to heroism is a concern for other people in need—a concern to defend a moral cause,

This violence only adds fuel to the fire which was his desire for power.
His violent behavior and vindictive ways to get and keep power eventually turned into greed which is another flaw that led to his downfall. “Greed is an extreme and excessive desire for resources, especially property such as money, real estate, or other symbols of wealth”, stated Richard Taflinger. Excessive is defined as possessing something to such a degree it’s harmful. His greed was indeed harmful to not only himself but to others around him as well. The example of his wife committing suicide can again be related to this flaw and how it affected others. His greed affected those far beyond his personal circle of loved ones and companions, but reached out into the people of the kingdom as well. They saw how he was ruling the kingdom with greed and a strong urging for power; they saw how he was becoming a true tyrant. Once Macbeth was given that little bit of power, he needed more and more. Macbeth was not satisfied until he had the whole kingdom under his rule and in the palm of his hand. The people being ruled by this controlling man was tired of his leadership, while at the same time starting to see his dirty deeds brought into the light. Deeds like King Duncan’s, Banquo 's, and the family of Macduff’s assassination. These suspicions now met with some evidence
The topic of whether Lady Macbeth should be considered as the third witch is a complex one with no definite answer but is open to interpretation. However, diving deeper into the problem one lacks any evidence to support the claim that she could be the fourth witch. We are first introduced to Lady Macbeth as she has just received a letter from Macbeth telling her of the encounter that he had with the witches and of the prophecies that they told Macbeth of. The first hint that Lady macbeth could be a witch comes when she states, “Come, you spirits that tend on the mortal thoughts. unsex me here, and fill me from the crown to the toe top-full of direst cruelty”.
For my final Macbeth project I decided to do a dramatic performance in which I was required to memorize and perform at least 10 lines from the original text. My group and I came to the agreement that we would do our performance on Act 4 Scene 1 from Macbeth. The group I worked with consisted of Dulce, Giselle, Laura, and Kelly and we all got together at Laura’s house to film our presentation. We all chose the lines we wanted to perform and memorized them for our final performance. During our rehearsals most of us started to get frustrated due to not being able to memorize part of our lines. However, we all encouraged each other to be patient and help one another with the lines. Furthermore, once we got our lines together we started to film
In Shakespeare’s classic tragedy of Macbeth the main character Macbeth is driven from his status as a well respected warrior and lord of not one, but two Scottish regions to a dishonest, unloyal murderer. Macbeth gets caught in a web of lies and vile acts of murder in which he brings about his own demise. His criminal actions lead up to his tragic ending of life. ‘ They have tied me to a stake; I cannot fly, But bearlike I must fight the course.’ His great ambition and gullibility of the witches predictions are two of the biggest factors of his downfall;however, Lady Macbeth was probably the biggest influence in the whole tragedy.
Sprinting with my shoulders sagged from the weight of my backpack that was virtually bursting with books and the worries about an upcoming Macbeth paper, I quietly pushed open the doorways of my parents' Chinese restaurant and bolted to the kitchen. I was late. I quickly plopped my backpack next to a bag of frozen chicken, changed into my uniform, and manned the front counter. For the next seven hours, my customers will be greeted with a zealous "Taipei Tokyo, how can I help you" while I simultaneously try to count the syllables of Macbeth's soliloquy with my fingers.
Lady Macbeth has proven to be an equal partner to Macbeth's crimes. Arguably, she has many traits that could be considered as evil, however, I feel that these elements were not strong enough to override her prevailing human qualities. This can best be seen when Lady Macbeth prays to evil spirits to muster the courage to go through with Duncan's murder, her sanity there after and finally her suicide. Lady Macbeth is not naturally evil by nature.
As a result of his ambition, Macbeth's ambition caused him to be easily influenced. Everyone wants to know how's Macbeth's ambition caused him to be easily influenced ? Macbeth's ambition caused him to be influenced because of Lady Macbeth and the three witches. According to Act I, Scene V Lady Macbeth fears that her husband is to kind and polite that her husband is being too soft to seize the throne. She's saying that she wants it more than he does. She wants Macbeth to be more aggressive and she also wants to be known. Lady Macbeth wanted to change his humor and tone to influence him to be King of Cawdor. In spite of Lady Macbeth's intentions to influence Macbeth, the three witches wanted to change Macbeth's point of view that he won't be king forever.
Many people in today's society believe that they have to be on top in order to have power over people. So many people want power but only a few know how to handle it without letting it get to their heads. In the story “No Fear Shakespeare, Macbeth”, Macbeth became overly ambitious and wanted to do what it took to become king, even if that meant that he had to kill his own king for the throne. When someone is overly ambitious they will do anything and everything in their power to get what they
The play MacBeth is pushed by ambition. Our murderer, Macbeth, does not start out as a cold blooded killer, it is our seemingly innocent Lady Macbeth that ignites the flame to kill inside him. In the play, ambition has got the best of the new king. It shows through Macbeth’s determination for the crown, willingness to murder, and his conceded nature.
The Tragedy of Macbeth would be greatly different had Lady Macbeth not been apart of it. Lady Macbeth was the puppet master for the entire scheme; she had her fingers in everything without boasting about it. Macbeth had a lot of instruction from Lady Macbeth regarding what he should and should not do. The tragedy would not have been the same without Lady Macbeth. Every little choice in life matters, every little thing that one takes into consideration when making a choice will end up affecting the outcome. In the case of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth has a lot to do with how his life turns out once he encounters the Weird Sisters. Lady Macbeth is a key character in The Tragedy of Macbeth. She proves that a man is not necessarily in charge. If Lady
Men are persuaded very easily by women as shown in Macbeth when it comes to the killing of king Duncan. Macbeth is informed that he will become king, Lady Macbeth wants to become queen. So she forces Macbeth to do whatever it takes to become king. She is willing to risk it all to become queen. In the killing of King Duncan there was only one mastermind.
In the playwright of Macbeth there are many examples of Macbeth deceiving someone to help eliminate enemies to him and his heir to the throne. This becomes profoundly evident in the beginning of the play as macbeth kills duncan. This sets up the stage for the play and allows Macbeth to become the King.
The play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare tells the story of a noble and heroic man wanting to be king so badly that it pushes him to the point of no return. He soon becomes swallowed by his guilt and regret because of the actions he has taken to be king, and forces him to face the idea that he is no longer looked upto as a symbol of honor but a coward. Shakespeare captures key ideas such as honor, guilt and regret throughout the play with the use of recurring techniques to manipulate the reader's response. One technique used in the play to manipulate the reader's response is symbols. A sword is used to display honor throughout the play, in the beginning we saw the way people admired and looked up to Macbeth for being such a heroic fighter
In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, tells a story of Macbeth who is told by three witches that he will be lord of Cawdor and the king. Macbeth having heard the good news sends his wife, Lady Macbeth, a letter telling her what he was told (Act I scene 5 33). The Macbeths then both decide that they couldn’t wait for the king to die. They decided to kill the king to get Macbeth the crown of the kingdom; this would be the first of many murders. The Macbeths down fall had many causes; I however, believe that Macbeths down fall is a combination of all three. The three reasons that I believe caused Macbeths down fall were the witches, Lady Macbeth, Macbeth.
A true villain is someone who is set on hurting others for personal gain. In William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Macbeth, the vicious Macbeth and his unpleasant wife are both truly evil, but only one of them is the true villain this tragedy. Even though the devious Lady Macbeth is not completely innocent, she still falls short when it comes to being a truly vicious villain. Macbeth’s transformation from war veteran to mass murderer really proves that Macbeth is the true villain of Shakespeare’s tragic portrayal of real life events.
As the equivalent for this part of the text, in Throne of Blood, the initial calmness is broken when Washizu and Miki is riding their horses through the forest, looking for the web spider’s castle, moment in which they found a spirit in the forest that tells them that Washizu will eventually become the Great Lord of the Spider’s web Castle, and Miki will become Commander of the First Fortress and his son one day shall rule the Spider’s web Castle causing the same effect as the witches in Macbeth (00:11:50 - 00:19:50).
