The most notorious political issue today is seemingly Donald Trump running for the presidential election. Personally I love the case that he’s running for president. Americans need a strong leader to administer this country. America was founded by hard working citizens like Trump, and quite frankly it's about time it become that way again. Why should we acquire Obama, who's not even 100% American when we could enjoy someone who’s been here forever and actually knows the problems that we are facing in America today? Trump said, “Make America Great Again.” He stated that fact because America was great at one point until Obama came in and polluted everything with his policies. The only issue that many Americans
He changed so much in the US he also did Obama care, that changed so much people lives who needed it. Trump throughout the speech he talked about himself and how he worked with companies. He did talk about America but not much as Obama did with his speech. Even though both are presidents and also care about America, they are still so different.
In Langston Hughes poem “Let America be America Again” he talks about how America should return to the way that it was perceived to be in the dreams before America was truly America. Throughout the poem he uses various methods to evoke the patriotic images and dreams that he feels America should and will eventually be. Hughes states that America is supposed to be a place of equality for everyone including both white and colored people. During this period in time though there was not equality for everyone. Hughes talks about an America where both whites and colored people will have equality in all aspects socially, politically, and economically. What Hughes is saying is that both whites and colored
Trump uses the word “great” to push the idea of American exceptionalism. This provides a newly embraced sense of pride and patriotism that the audience had not felt since. Trump then uses the word “again” to suggest looking backward towards past eras for models that will move America forward to meet the unprecedented demographic, technological, climatological and ethical challenges faced with today. Although his campaign does not specify the details of what era was ‘great’, this appeals to older generations that be post WWII to either the early seventies or early eighties, when middle class incomes rose in lockstep with the wealthy- when one was proud to call themselves American. The word “again” also instills fear in the audience. It implies that America is currently not ‘great’, and changes need to be made. Trump then takes advantage of the nation’s fear. He positions himself as the nation’s hero - the only one who can secure borders, fight off terrorists, and install that ‘greatness’ once again. He boasts himself up as this hero, making his greatness America’s greatness as well. This slogan helps promote Trump as a savior figure, earning his popularity among a scared
In 1970 America was a post-war country just waiting for something bad to happen. Moving to the current year, it still seems that America is still on its way down. We cannot go a month without there being a tragic shooting on the news, or protests burning down buildings. People do not expect anything great anymore, they always get ready for the bad times. This seems especially true ever since Donald Trump has become president. No one can accept him and everyone is just waiting for him to do something horrible. When I was watching the presidential election and saw that Trump won, my mood changed immediately. I was ready for World War III to happen, without giving Trump a chance with his presidency. Many Americans hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
Kevin Van Valkenburg’s multiple articles on New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady are unique due to how they humanize a polarizing star. Ever since his breakout 2001 season, where the Patriots defeated the St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI, Brady has adhered to the policy of the “Patriot Way,” where players under head coach Bill Belichick and owner Robert Kraft reveal next to nothing to the media and the public eye.
In order to make America great again, we must go back to our simple ways. We must get rid of all of the unnecessary things in life and go back to what is most important. We must get rid of reason, language, electronics, and anything that will not help us survive. We must only focus self-preservation and our bodily needs, such as food and water. In order to do this, we must strip man of their artificial qualities and find their pure or original qualities. For example, there was once a brand new statue of Glaucus, a deceased fisherman in the Greek myths. This statue was original until “the old parts of his body have been broken off. . .thoroughly maimed by the waves at the same time as other things have grown on him-shells, seaweed, and rocks-so
With last year being the first election that I could vote in, I took particular interest in keeping up with politics as much as I could. It was truly sad to see Obama leave office, being that he was a symbol of hope for so many, regardless of the critiques on how well he did his job. When our current president, something that is still hard for me to face the reality of, Donald Trump, announced his campaign I thought he had no chance. I did not see it possible for a man with no political background, who is only known for being a wealthy businessman along with reality star to become the leader of
Socio-centric thinking as a pathology is defined as “egocentric thinking raised to the level of the group” (Pau1, et., al., 2012). In other words, thinking that it is validated by a group that shares the same uncritical ideology and that is motivated by self-serving interests.
Another difference in the poems is who the authors are describing. “The New Colossus” concentrated more on the immigrants going to America while “Let America Be America Again” gave more consideration to the general population living in America. Lazarus’ poem reached out to the people that wanted a fresh start to their lives. Using the Statue of Liberty as her voice in the poem, she says, “Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” She is explaining how she wants all people, rich, poor, black, white, to come to America for a new beginning to their lives. Whereas Hughes is explaining the current state of life among the people who live in America. He feels oppressed by his country to the audience and
Trump: All I have to say is that I will make America great again and I will make every American happy. I promise that. I promise that.
First of all, Trump will not make America great again. He says rude things and then denies it and blames others. “ And when he became tied to the idea of creating
Make America Great Again is a campaign slogan used in American presidential campaigns by Republican candidates. It was firstly introduces by Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States. During Reagan’s presidential campaign, the state faced worsening economy at home market and the changes were urgently needed. Thus, President Reagan used this slogan to promote patriotism in the period of economical and political instability. Donald Trump used this phrase for the first time in December 2011, when he gave the statement claiming he does not want to run for the president in the future, explaining “I must leave all of my options open because, above all else, we must make America great again" At that time, it was not used as the slogan.
America is preparing for one of its greatest presidents to depart from the white house, He is the one and only President Barrack Obama. In his departure the nation gets to choose someone or should I say something new, this process is known as in election. In this election there are many candidates to choose from; however the nation is leaning toward something called Donald Trump. This particular candidate is showing his unqualifications time and time again whether it be his racist remarks, uneducated answers on political questions, or it being his personality as a whole. Donald Trump is wrong for America altogether and the fate of America is not well off in his hands. He shows us this also time and time again with his protesters behavior at the rallies.
From the very beginning of his campaign trail, Donald Trump piqued America’s interest with his blunt and oftentimes shocking statements. With his candidacy came exclamations of making America great, building walls, deporting illegal immigrants, and keeping jobs in the United States. A Google search
I do not believe Donald Trump is doing much in the way of making America great. The phrase “Make America great again”. Implies that it was great at one point and has somehow eventually fallen short. Looking to our recent past, you can see a decline in many areas. Most obviously social environments, within our own country and beyond.
