A mandala , originally seen it tibet , is a circular picture that is created to show something of meaning to a person or a group of people. The mandala is also used to show religious beliefs, which was its original purpose in the fourth century. The mandalas circular shape can also have meaning as well as the content, or symbols, that are inside of it. The circular shape can symbolize the circle of life or even the lack of a beginning or end that the circle has, but everyone has a different meaning to the circular shape and its meaning depends on the creater. The mandalas center picture is very important to the creator because it shows the most important thing to them in life, while the perimeter of the mandala circle is symbols that represent …show more content…
I did this because I have always loved the city and I would love to move to one some day, and I added the different times of day because I love to watch the sun rise or set and see the stars and planets at night. On the left of my mandala I have a line of music because I love listening to music all the time, and next to that are five polaroids and that is because I love to take pictures to show people how beautiful the Earth is. I have also added a drawing of the earth because I think it is important to remember that there is so much to do on earth and so many places to go so if you want to do something do it there is nothing holding you back. It also could mean that there are places that need your help and to help as much as you can even if it is a little it still helps someone. Lastly I have a sunflower with a baseball bat as the steam with a camera dangling from one of the leafs. The sunflower is to show where my grandma lived, when she was little she had planted sunflowers in her backyard which she did until she moved to PA with my grandfather. I added the bat because I love to play softball and also love to watch baseball

Shivangi came to America with a hope and goal of becoming a doctor. She had struggled to learn english however after hard work she was on her path to success. Shivagni explained to me that along her journey to where she is today is due to the connections she had made. Even though she is the vice president of millsaps masala and does multiple jobs around campus, she still makes time to guide new underclassmen to ensure everyone can prosper. She is the type of leader to make mistakes and own up to them so others will not follow in her same footsteps.
The mandala provides a religious experience through visualization and are often employed to dissociate a human from their ego and the egotistic perceptions humans tend to cling to. Creating a mandala takes a lot of time and
The first Nazi concentration camp was built in March, 1933. Named Dachau, it opened in the grounds of the abandoned factory near the north eastern part of the town Dachau. According to the article, “searing memories of Nazi Germany’s First concentration camp,” by Soraya Sarhaddi Neison, “The original plan was to house 5,000 political prisoners,” However, an “SS leader Henrich Himmer extended Dachau’s mandate to forced labor, the prisoners of war.” This states that the camps didn’t start out as deadly as it came to be. However, survivor, Max Mannheimer, states “Dachau was less evil than other camps I experienced.” So, the camp was indeed deadly but not as deadly than the other
Siddhartha Gautama was born around 566 – 486 BCE to a royal family in the village of Lumbini in present day Nepal according to The Buddha. He had a normal life growing up, marrying and having children of his own. “Then one day when Siddhartha went outside the royal enclosure where he lived. When he went outside he saw, each for the first time, an old man, a sick man, and a corpse” ("The Buddha"). Siddhartha had a revelation when he saw these men that no matter what happens in life sickness, age, and death are inevitable for all human beings. After this revelation he decided to leave the wealthy life and become a holy homeless man. As he travels his eyes are opened to the sufferings of this cruel world. Siddhartha tried to escape inevitable fates of life by studying with religious men, following a life of self-denial and discipline, and even meditating but could not
Siddhartha Guatama founded the fourth most popular religion in the world, Buddhism. The archives found in the area depicts that the people of the Ur district worshiped many Gods. However, it can be deduced that the major God that the people of Ur worshiped was the Nanna or the Moon God. As mentioned above, the city of Ur was divided into two areas, namely, common district and the sacred place. The sacred place has a large monument or massive brickwork which is called the temple of Sin or the god of the moon. This monument was erected by the king of Ur about 4000 years ago. The temple was made in a series of platforms, one platform on top of another. The people of Ur assumed that the God lived at the third platform. In the common district, there were a large number of marketplaces, schools, libraries, homes and conveniences.

This message from what I read about the fortunes means you are going to do good in the future. The four fortunes say “You are a talented story teller.”, “Congratulations! You are on your way.”, “You are a person of another time.”, “Now is the time to try something new!” These positive encouraging messages I thought were trying to per sway the viewers that you’re going to be something great in the future. Also, the princess in the middle also shows that you’re going to be well known and well respected. Also, the artist shows a lot of flowers and weeds. It could mean that since you have beautiful flowers you will have a beautiful wife. Further, the weeds could be roadblocks that are going to occur in your life and the flowers will over grow them. This could also mean that you can overcome anything as you become more mature and age more. I can relate to this piece of art work by it giving me inspiration and a message of you are going to be great in the future, keep working hard and anything you set your mind to you will
The beliefs and symbols illustrated in my mandala are positioned in a way that they connect to each other. The first Hindu belief is Brahman. I put the symbol of Brahman on the bottom of the mandala to show that it “controls” and “connects” to the other four beliefs. Next, the belief of multiple gods will be placed on the right side of Brahman because he is one of the many gods that the Hindus believe in. On the other side of Brahman will be Dharma because they both have to do with balancing society and the universe. On top of Dharma will be Karma. I will put it in this position because Dharma affects your Karma. If you follow rules then your Karma will be good, and if you don't follow the rules then your Karma won't be as good. Lastly, Samsara will be placed next to Karma and Dharma. Samsara would be placed next to these beliefs because your Karma is what you will receive or be like in your next life. Dharma connects to Samsara because the release called Moksha will be achieved if you follow certain spiritual and ritual practices to have a good relation and personal experience with Gods. There are many other ways that all these beliefs connect to each other, but the ways I just talked about relate to the illustrations I have drawn on the mandala.
The theme of my mandala is Biblical. The leaves represent the Garden of Eden, and the many triangles represent the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost). This says a lot about me as a person, as I was raised in a family with very strong Christian beliefs. I grew up going to church every Sunday, and prayed regularly. To this day I am a very strong Christian and volunteer throughout my church. I help with VBS, run the sound system during the worship service, and am the Sunday School secretary. Church has always been an important part of my life and will continue to be as I age. I find the Bible to be very fascinating, and incorporated parts of it into my mandala.
