I will do the math for you, it is going to cost you $0.45120778 more a day for your 10 cups of water and for the month, it will cost you $13.5362334 more.
Let us take it another step further and add a home filtered pitcher.
To buy the pitcher that comes with one filter, it will cost you about $30.00. According to the package, that filter will filter 40 gallons of water which is 640 cups of water. o Which means for the first month, your filtered water will cost you $0.46875 a day for your 10 cups of water.
That is $0.46828125 more a day added to the price of your tap water bringing your daily total to $0.46921875.
Your monthly total for the first month will be $14.0625.
o For the following months, it will be much cheaper since you

The author of this book, Dave Ramsey, is a man who has gone through many struggles in his life. Throughout his book he talks about the times when he went bankrupt and couldn’t provide for his family. Dave Ramsey sat down and wrote a plan on how to be smart with your money. Ramsey says, “The principles are not mine. I stole them all from God and your grandmother” (xi). He talks about how these are not new ideas and that these are not theories because they are proven to work every single time. The central concept of this book is to help people succeed in life with money but also their personal relationships. Ramsey wants to give people hope and happiness by playing a small role in their financial freedom.
Water is an essential part to human life. We as humans need around eight to twelve cups per day to make up for the fact that throughout normal functions such as breathing and sweating we lose an average of ten cups per day. To make sure that we are healthy and everything runs properly, we must make sure we drink the right amount of water (msnbc.com, 2004). The one question when thinking about water is what type of water will you drink? The biggest controversy is bottled water vs. tap water. Many people in the world today are switching from drinking tap water to drinking bottled water. The number of people who drink bottled water has been rising over the past few decades and by an average of 7% per year. A
According to the Department of water resources, the filtration of the water will add on the costs for the city between $310 and $515 million.
For evidence, check your water bill, which will be going up in April because of the rising cost of treating and distributing water — if the Des Moines Water Works board of trustees approves a proposed 2015 budget Tuesday. It contains a rate increase of 7 percent for residents of Des Moines and 5 percent for suburban customers who buy water wholesale from Des Moines. Also, customers in unincorporated Polk County will pay an additional $1.50 per 1,000 gallons of water for service improvements.
For my research, I did a phone interview with Rachel Janway on November 4, 2015. By conducting a phone interview with her, I was able to obtain accurate information on the attendance rate of the art festival. Ms. Janway informed me that the weather played a key factor in the attendance rate, especially the rain. Therefore, I researched the weather in Stillwater Oklahoma over a 5-year period, for the third week of April. In addition, the days I focused on were Saturday and Sunday because the event is held on those days. I visited The Old Farmer’s Almanac website, to obtain information about the weather in Stillwater over the
Moore states, "You would have to send 200 bottles a day, per person, to cover what the average American (we are Americans in Flint) needs each day. That’s 102,000 citizens times 200 bottles of water—which equals 20.4 million 16 oz. bottles of water per day, every day, for the next year or two until this problem is fixed.” Instead of water, he calls for justice.
Refillable water bottles may seem expensive, but in the long run it will be much cheaper. “On average, Americans spend about $5 a week on bottled water, this means you can save $260 per year by switching to a reusable water bottle” (Speer par. 5). This statistic shows just how much the average American (the world wide statistic was not available) can save yearly, let alone in a lifetime. This statistic also does not include the average money a year a person spends on soda pop, tea, coffee, or other drinks that could be put into the refillable bottle if they are bought in bulk. Many people say they do not have money to buy a nice refillable water bottle, but most people do have the money it would take to buy an eight dollar Contigo refillable bottle from Walmart that would do the job. Up to one fifth of Americans have tap water that is not drinkable (Karp par. 1). However, there are refillable water bottles with filters. Refillable water bottles with filters may be more expensive, but it is easy to find a cheap one at Walmart. For example someone could buy a ten dollar Brita filter water bottle. Investing in a refillable bottle will already save someone money after one month of use.
The Health Spring Water Company sells bottled water for offices and homes. The price of the water is $20 per 10 gallon bottle and the company currently sells 2,000 bottles per day. Following is a summary of the company’s income and costs on a daily basis.
Just raising the cost of water is not sufficient, as it does not discourage people from using more water because they are not forced to use less. An acceptable, humane amount of water per person should be decided upon by the water conservation act, and if this amount is exceeded, the cost for additional gallons of water should be triple what is normally paid. This would be effective in discouraging people from using too much water and depleting the supply.
Tap water is extremely cheaper than bottled water is. According to Livingston, tap water costs only $2.00 every thousand gallons, whereas the cost per gallon of bottled water is $1.21. "That means, priced by gallon, bottled water is more than 600 times more expensive than tap water" (Livingston). Buying a bottled water may be cheaper at the time, however, that $1.00 or so adds up. When people buy bottled water, it is often the same as tap, just that’s been filtered or purified (Livington). So, why spend money on bottled water when it's rather identical to tap, with no

Bottled water is a high revenue business with little to offer its consumers. Americans spent around $11.8 billion dollars on bottled water in 2012 (Boesler). It is surprising to discover that bottled water costs at least 300 times more than tap water (Boesler). Bottled water drinkers might assume this is an adequate price considering marketers convince them it comes from natural springs, but at least 25% of bottled water comes from municipal water supplies (“Bottled Water”). The company filters the tap water and sells it in misleading packaging at an outrageous price. However, with tap water only $ 0.004 a gallon, Americans can filter their own water and increase the productive opportunities for their money (Boesler).
If you would also choose water when you go out to eat and save the $2, you would save a decent amount of money in a year.
