Two popular places to visit are Florida and Hawaii. While many believe that one beach community is as good as any other, there are many differences between Hawaii and Florida that make them suited for different people, depending on what kind of vacation they want to experience. In particular there are differences in the cultures, weather, and attractions of these two beach communities.
Haleakala National Park: The summit of Haleakala is the perfect place to watch the sunrise over Maui. After leaving the sea of clouds, enjoy some banana-macadamia nut pancakes at the Kula Lodge. Encompassing 30,000 acres of upcountry land, this park is visited by one million tourists every year. If you hike to the top f Haleakala, you can keep hiking into the mouth of the volcano. Unlike Florida, you won’t find many bands that come to perform because of the distance it takes to travel to the Islands. Also, if you grow bored then you are “stuck” on the island causing many people to feel like they have “island fever”. There are a lot of sights to see in Hawaii, so if you are into exploring there is plenty to do to keep you from getting bored. Hike to a waterfall or up a mountain, zip line through the forests, go snorkeling, paddle boarding, or surfing. Hawaii is the home of surfing with all the world class surf spots of Pipeline, Sunset Beach, Waimea, and Jaws. There are big waves, and big surf. With all the outdoor activities in Hawaii the entertainment is endless. Hawaii and Florida both have fun things to do for entertainment but you will have to decide what you like and which lifestyle you can afford.
You can find Little Hickory Island Beach Park at the northern end of the island at the intersection of Little Hickory Boulevard and Hickory Boulevard, nestled between two condominium complexes. This location is the northernmost point on the island that has public beach access. This beach has excellent facilities for the convenience of its visitors such as sparkling clean restrooms and ample parking. This beach is an excellent spot to start a shelling expedition.

On top of all of these great features, there are many amazing trails to follow throughout the park. I took a great hike through the Ice Age Trail, the Kettle View Trail, and the Kame Terrace Trail. I really enjoyed my peaceful walk through creation and also appreciated how well labeled the trails were in comparison with the provided map at my entry to the park.

During this Fall semester, I went to the Butterfly Pavilion, and it had a lot of unique and cool insects. There were different sections and they all had a theme. First, the “Crawl a See Em” section which had insects like; mantids, bees, and tarantulas. I am terrified of spiders so my boyfriend had to hold Rosie the tarantula. Also, they had this huge bee hive where bees from outside were able to go inside and out because there was a tube that connected the outside and inside.The next section was uniquely called “Water Edge,” where you were able to touch some sea animals like a starfish.
Molokini is a crescent-shaped, partially submerged volcanic crater created when the caldera collapsed eons ago. The small, uninhabited islet is a Hawaiʻi State Seabird Sanctuary and a Marine Life Conservation District where fishing is prohibited. The calm, wind-protected waters of the crater are teeming with over 250 species of fish and has excellent visibility as deep as 150 feet.
