Living in Florida there are many things to be worried about from alligators, hot heat, and the most important hurricanes. The first hurricane I experienced was in the first two months of me living in Florida. I moved here from New York and I had no idea what to expect when I heard that a hurricane was coming. It was like nothing I had experienced before, seeing a tree pulled from the ground by only water and wind was a devastating experience that I was something I did not expect to see. After the hurricane, my dad went to the store and bought as much; canned food, water bottles, candles, flashlights and batteries he could find to make sure that just in case another hurricane hit we would be prepared. Where to live? This is a question many people ask themselves, but narrow it down to two states such as Virginia and Arizona. While on the surface, Arizona and Virginia are beautiful states that most people would love to live in. But both states have their drawbacks from weather to the size of their state and population and politics. I chose these two states to compare because they are the states I have lived in throughout my life and are significant to me. I was born in Wilmington, North Carolina and lived there until I was 10 years old. My step-father received a job offer in Islamorada, Florida and we decided to move. I lived there until I graduated high school, following which I came to Orlando to go to college.

I heard in school that Hawaii was amazing and I would like to go to Hawaii to try their food so I would know what it taste like. I also want to learn how fish live and see different types of fish and feed the fish. Another reason I would like to go to Hawaii is because I would like to climb a volcano and have fun, and take pictures and explore it. And I would gently swim in the ocean because of the sharks, see the ocean and drive a jet ski.

The Big Island’s volcanoes are thriving and gigantic. With five volcanoes making up the island, the whole place is covered with cooled lava and even some fresh lava. With cool weather and small towns the place is a perfect paradise. MMS Team 8A went to the Big Island and got to explore Hilo town. Hilo town is a small, old town that has cool weather and neat shops. The group got to hike and see the volcano and the crater. They also went to the Jaggar Museum and saw a volcano and the lava in it. Big Island and Oahu are different because of the volcanoes, weather, and the cities and they are the same because of their location, physical makeup, and their ocean.

When a state is referred in a country then it’s in the country but when it comes to Hawaii it’s slightly different as even it’s not in America it’s a state in United States of America. It’s the last ever state to join the Union as the 50th state on august 21t 1959. Since then it has grown into one of the leading tourist destinations in the world and within the country itself. That is because the state is fully located in Oceania comprising islands all over with its great scenic beaches.
