Persepolis and Maus When people read graphic novels, they might get more sense and read it seriously than any novels because graphic or comic book are more attractive. They are easy to read but hard to understand. Maus and Persepolis are two graphic novels that was written many years ago, and they tell us stories about different culture and societies. Besides of the facts that both novels involved, such as revolution and war, they told us the main characters feeling about their counties and the situation in that time. Also, the writer of both novels used the same style of art, and they were used the same colors for their books which is black and white to express their ideas. She was a victim of those ideas that have around her in this young age, and she forced for many things in her life without knowing or having ideas about them, such as separating girls from boys in schools or vail. Because of her parents and relatives whom they participated in the revolution, she felt that she had to do real job for her society in this young age. She thought that she had to build such a good society for people without any inequalities between them. She thought about society that all people were treated equally, and there were not be social classes between. Such a kind societies that old people do not get suffer. In the end of the story, Marjane’s parents decided to send her to other country because they thought that Iran not really good place for their daughter to grow in it, so they sent her to Vienna to had happy and bright future. Beside of Persepolis, Maus is also the graphic novels, and it was written by Art Spiegelman who was American Cartoonist and it was written in 1980. The novel talks about life during the war and Holocaust, and it was told by Art’s father whose name was Vladek, and he was interviewed by his son. They both had terrible events that people do not forget when they read them because they shows inequality between different cultures and differs societies. Also, both talked about killing and murdered people which they leave the bad picture in people’s mind when they read it because most of the events about killing people.
