As time goes on, social networking sites can influence millions of people without thinking about the consequences. Foer wanted the readers to understand the full impact of Facebook by mentioning that “No other company has so precisely boasted about its ability to shape democracy like this-and for good reason. It’s too much power to entrust to a corporation” (75). The author found it peculiar that Facebook wanted to boast about their success, and the amount of influence that they have. Foer meant by “the ability to shape democracy” is Mark Zuckerberg is allowing Facebook to change the Democratic Party and he does not deny this accusation. He is able to reshape democracy due to the excessive use of algorithms. The people controlling the algorithms are allowing it to pick videos or post pictures that could have social pressures which can influence a person to sway from their original stance. Algorithms should be posting videos at random and should pick related videos if the users asks for it; that way, the user knows what they want and it will be their chose if they want to continuing watching the same videos. Facebook could be sneaky and can be inhumane when it comes to human emotions. Resulting in another treacherous scenario because Facebook does not care, “Whether the information is true or concocted, authoritative reporting or conspiratorial opinion, doesn’t really seem to matter much to Facebook. The crowd gets what it wants and deserves” (Foer 76). Foer mentions something that can be tremendously petrifying to the world and it is that Facebook does not care whether or not a piece of news is genuine on their site. The word “concocted” means made up and Facebook does not filter or check out the sources that make up facts that millions of people read. By ignoring their obligation to check out news like a journalist does, they allow the crowd to get what they want, even if it is fabricated.

Out of the variety of news sources such as TV, radio, or newspapers, one of the popular sources in today’s world is social media. People are getting addicted to and can’t live without social media such as Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. They use social media as of where they can post their status but also where they can receive a lot of different news. ​In the article titled The Other Problem with Trump’s Second Amendment comments, Donald Trump falsely accused Hillary Clinton of being too strict with the Second Amendment, causing people to take matters into their own hands. Trump made careless comments about Clinton when he stated if Hillary Clinton ever became President “Second Amendment people” could take matters into their own hands. Trumps comments about Clinton are misleading. Clinton’s support of a reasonable gun law in the United States is not the same as abolishing the whole amendment. She has tight gun restrictions but never once has she said nor indicated that she wants to abolish the Second Amendment. She just wants more laws to protect the citizens and many families that have been affected by the use of illegal guns in communities.

Mrs. Clinton has clearly stated in her campaign that she is not in favor of making the Second Amendment legal in all 50 states by saying, “You shouldn’t be able to just go buy a gun with no questions asked. You shouldn’t be able to exploit loopholes and evade criminal background checks by buying online or at a gun show. And yes, if you’re too dangerous to get on a plane, you are too dangerous to buy a gun in America,”(1.“Hillary Clinton 2016”). With this quote, we clearly see that Hillary Clinton believes that buying a gun without question is completely unreasonable, which leads to her wanting background checks on all purchases of guns in the United States. I agree and believe this statement is highly important to Mrs. Clinton’s campaign because she is summarizing that if in any case resulting purchases of guns, there needs to be more concern on why and how these guns will be enforced. Also, Hillary Clinton is providing a lawful and more logical approach on protecting citizen’s safety by gaining checks and seeing who is rightfully fit to own a gun and who is not. Throughout the election Hillary Clinton has stressed that guns are the reason people are being killed and that they need to be taken away. Many people are upset about this because when our country was founded our founding fathers wanted to make sure that we had the right to bear arms. In order to make that happen they created the second amendment. Taking away citizens guns would be an infringement on their constitutional right and could have severe consequences. The National Rifle Association has been creating advertisements to show why taking away citizens guns can result in people being harmed simply because they didn't have the means to protect themselves. The topic we decided to cover was a topic that may not be perceived as an issue to some but to us we see it as an issue. Freedom of speech is one of the most important rights that an American possesses. Satire should not be censored until it crosses the line into hate speech. Hate speech is aggressive and negative language directed towards a group of people due to something such as race, religion, or culture. Kuruvilla details recent issues with hate speech by writing, “recent prosecutions include a white supremacist convicted of sending a threatening anti-Semitic tweet to a lawmaker.” Hate speech, unfortunately, is not a rare occurrence. It is seen on social media, such as Twitter, and anti-Islamic hate in particular has become a recent issue. It is important to understand where satire ends and where hateful speech begins.

The viewpoint of the political cartoon is that no one takes Al Gore seriously. The word serious is in the cartoon and AL Gore is dressed as a penguin, which is funny. The cartoon is horatian because Al Gore dressed in a penguin suit is humorous. The content creator used sarcasm and caricature in the cartoon. The sarcastic part of the cartoon is Obama asking us to take global warming seriously. Caricature is used by Al Gore dressed as a penguin.

This TV series was inspired by comic books. All good TV series have their crutch that makes them brilliant, be they the dynamic between Mulder and Scully, the surreal feeling of grounding in the Sopranos, to the intricate science of CSI. This TV show took the risk of using Movie-style action scenes, which is risky because it is often very expensive if you want to make it look good. Considering the fact they had a TV budget, they have done a good job.

This news was published in Netherlands where there was a big controversy in many parts of the world. But later the news was found to be fake and not convincing. Even the news broadcaster and the video poster were found to be fake for this news. The most surprising thing was that the president of United States “Donald Trump” has shared this news on a social media without knowing the point. It’s totally shocking that the person which is well reputed and known has shared the fake news without finding the truth. Because of these kinds of a crucial mistake made by such person has affected the society and the people. He mainly accused the boy as an immigrant which was totally false and unexpected.
