Learning is the individual growth of person and new understanding around us as a result of cooperative interaction and sharing the experiences with others. I will start describing what I learnt from interaction in pair and group after detailing how I met my partner and group. I met my partner Nuttanun on Wednesday July 8, 2015 virtually because we both were not able to attend the first class due to rescheduling issue. She approached me by email and we exchanged our phone numbers. We decided to meet in person on Thursday at 6:00 pm to understand and discuss the class we missed. We introduced each other and talked about our profession and personal lives for about an hour and then we discussed the reading material given to us. We discussed it for more than 30 minutes. After discussion we decided to fill out Engaging Across Differences sheet and passed on to each other. On Friday, we met again to answer our discussion board questions and talked about our plans for weekends. My group consist of four members …show more content…
I will look at risks positively and will try to convert them into new opportunities. I will always build a strategy for attaining my objectives. I will stay open to new consequences that may result by taking risks. I will find new opportunities in them and will develop and modify certain steps in my strategy according to the new consequences. I will make Native people of the place where I decide to live and work, as my friends who can help me understand the new culture and lifestyle. Along with that I will acquire new skills and methods of strengthening my weakness by interacting with more people as I did with Gustavo, Sofia and Nuttanun. Lastly, I will live in the present and will make every step of obtaining my goal worthwhile by learning new things from the people and world surrounding
In the beginning, Jake at first is nervous and frustrated that Amy is late. Which is a lack of commitment from Amy's side, and Jake is just feeling the effects of it. When Amy does get there, Jake starts to ask questions and is very aggressive about it; all the while he does not give her a chance to speak. This is another type of transgression, Jake is displaying problematic emotions while he is addressing Amy. Also while Jake is questioning Amy, she is acting suspiciously, and either trying to avoid the question or delaying the answer. Which does not help and actually makes the situation worse, between the two. Throughout the session they are both distant, no touching whatsoever and avoiding eye contact. Things do get pretty heated between the two, and Jake even pressured the counselor into revealing what his thoughts are; in which was unsatisfying to both of them.
Amanda and Erica’s grades may differ for a variety of reasons. Studies show that the more academic activities a parent is involved in is significantly associated with their child having higher literacy achievement, lower rates of grade retention, and fewer years needing special education (Miedel & Reynolds, 2000). Amanda’s father’s income, education, and occupation also all correlate with her literacy abilities (Buckingham, Wheldall, & Beaman-Wheldall, 2013). Parental education has the strongest influence of the three (Buckingham, Wheldall, & Beaman-Wheldall, 2013).
For last week assignment, we were all asked to download three fitness apps of our choice and to monitor our daily physical activity and calorie intake. The three apps I decided to download for this assignment were Myfitnesspal (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/), MyPlate (https://www.livestrong.com /myplate/), and SparkPeople (https://www.sparkpeople.com). In order to use each of these apps, I had to input general information about myself such as height, current weight, weight goal, date of birth, and whether or not if I would like to gain, lose or maintain weight. Having the ability to scan my food barcode made each app easy to use. Out of all three apps, I would say that Myfitnesspal and MyPlate were the easiest apps to figure out. I had a little difficult time using SparkPeople in the beginning. I had a hard time figuring out how to automatically set up my step from my iPhone. Most of these apps were not complete, in order to track my macros or to know what foods rank the highest in nutrients, I would need to pay for premium membership to gain those type of access. However, with each of these apps, I was able to choose a variety of workouts.
Here we go again with resolutions. Our favorite part of new year. The next paragraphs are my simple resolution. My resolution are jogging for 30 minutes everyday, spend more time with friends and family, get a higher gpa. Every year I make my simple resolution, but only keep one or two of them. But not this year I am going to keep all of my resolution. So let's get started.
For my first assignment, I interviewed Dawn VanderZwan, which is a fourth year criminal justice student in the UFV. Through our communication, I collected some information about her academic goals, workplace experiences and personal life.
Financial reporting practices and ethics have manifested an ocean of literature. This has mainly come from organization theorists that address accounting practices. These theorists and professionals have given fresh accountability measures. Their ideals give this industry the tools needed to survive, grow and prosper. The way an organization prepares and reports its financial information and handles its daily operations is in essence financial practices, and in the way it accomplishes this reveals their ethical standards to which they adhere to. This paper will discuss the financial practices, ethical standards, and
For this assignment, I interviewed my friend, saeda, a married mother of two children and a 1st generation immigrant. She is a licensed practical nurse who makes about $3000 a month. She currently does not have any savings but thinks about ways to save for the future. My friend recognizes that she has a spending problem; she has attempted to free her from this never-ending cycle of spending numerous times but failed in the processes. She experiences an internal happiness when she buys things even if she does not need them. Every week she receives a direct deposit through her work, which makes it easier for her to spend her money as soon as the funds become available. She spends a good fortune of her income on buying toys for her kids and eating

My group had an instance of functional which was to work together to achieve the assignment. We had to pick four out of eight people, and all of eight people would die very soon if they did not have another heart. After reading the assignment sheets, we could pick two people immediately, Peter and Thomas, who were young boys. We had a lot of opinions about picking the other two. For me, I would pick Father and Donna base on what I read. However, after spending about ten minutes to discuss with my group, we all had agreement for Father and Mike. Even though I picked Donna instead of Mike, the other members shared their opinions and analyzed the information; so finally, I agreed to pick Father and Mike. At first, each of us had different choice
The show that I used for this assignment was Friends. I felt that Joey played the role of the leader. When Ross told everyone he was moving, Joey was the first person to speak up about how he felt. He told the others they needed to do something to keep Ross from moving. He also went to Ross personally, and tried to convince him from following through with the move. I felt that Phoebe was the opinion giver. She kept informing the group that it was Ross' life and they should respect his decision. Whenever Joey would try to tell Ross how he felt, Phoebe would intervene to distract him. She also agreed when Ross got upset with the group. She told everyone it wasn't right to interfere with his life. With Joey taking the leader role, he helped the
However, for this schoolyear, I was put in a group with three other students, Emma, Mia, and Lucy, who do not share my same beliefs and experiences. Emma is involved in a variety of activities including numerous AP classes. As a result, she has trouble with her time commitment and I knew from the start, working with her might be a challenge; however, I hoped for the best since she usually tries to commit to her schoolwork. Mia is involved in with the spirit team, and she dedicates a lot of her time to both the team and to her job. Despite her busy schedule, she is in the top five percent of the class and hopes that this class with be an easy GPA boost. Lucy is on the volleyball team, and even though it is time consuming she prioritizes school before her other activities. Both Lucy and I are in the class because of our interest in science and the possibility for a future career. School has always been my priority and my
After graduated from UC Irvine, I started to work at Universal Prospect Corporation, an advertising consulting firm, as an account executive. My daily work consists of searching for new clients and offering them the most suitable advertising plans. To target a potential client precisely, it is important for me to know well enough about the client`s business, including the situation of the entire industry, the client`s major competitors, and its target population. Based on the understanding of those objective conditions, I would be able to analyze the demands of my client and make the most appealing offer for him. When negotiating with clients,
Happy Sunday , I hope this week started out great for you. I really like the way you address week one's questions. When working in large buildings, where there is only two way up , stairs or elevator, you are completely correct, you must come down. William, I did not think about it the way you did, making everyone feelings a part by add to the planning and assign responsibility will make them more receptacle to the evacuation training. Rehearsal drills are the best it allows you to see if a plan is working effectively, if you can't do it any certain time , their is time to make adjustments for improvements. I think the United State government has put more force on crisis situations since the 9/11 attack. Another crisis like
There are many tasks I have undertaken or completed in the last year or two that have nothing to do with academics or education. Even though these tasks have not been related to my education, they have helped me prepare for the tasks I plan to undertake in 2014.
Team level – I often look for opportunities to enhance my team’s potential by offering training, support, and constructive feedback. I also advocate for my employees’ career goals by delegating different projects to help improve their visibility.
