Mia Hamm
Mia Hamm once said "I am building a fire and everyday I train, I add more fuel, and at just the right moment, I light the match" ("Mia Hamm Quotes"). Mia Hamm appeals to me because she is a really good soccer player. She inspires me to keep trying and that you can turn a dream into reality if you try your hardest. Mia Hamm can inspire any soccer player because all they need to learn about is her biography, her soccer career, and her major accomplishments.

For my research paper, I plan to write about the Boleyn/Howard family. I will be focusing mainly on Henry VIII wives Anne Boleyn and her cousin Catherine Howard. The time frame I look to examine is from the rise of Anne Boleyn and her family to the fall of Catherine Howard and the aftermath of their executions and how it affected the family left behind. I think that both the Boleyn's and Howard's were very influential towards the middle and end of Henry’s reign. Most prominent is Anne Boleyn who has been polarized throughout history as either an innocently executed wife or a malicious and ambitious she-wolf who brought down Catholicism in England. Whichever way you look at it Anne is one of his most remembered and influential wives. For whatever
Hip hop is a culture and lifestyle that is 95% male dominated, yet without the contribution of women in the early stages of its birth, rap would not be the multi-billion dollar industry it is today. One of the most major contributors to this new scene would most definitely be Sylvia Robinson, otherwise known as the grandmother of hip hop. This woman, the founder of Sugar Hill Records, released the first official rap song called “Rapper’s Delight”. The song was so successful that it actually made it on the billboard charts at #36. It was also rated #14 on the R&B charts for two weeks straight. Sylvia Robinson was so experienced that she was able to find an unknown individual accompanied by two friends, create the Sugarhill Gang and turn them into one of the biggest hip hop groups out there. Without Robinson’s vision for rap and commercial elements implemented within, this hip hop culture would not have flourished the way it did in 1979. As if that accomplishment on its own was not good enough, her record label released multiple songs by Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five. Even though Grandmaster Flash eventually leaves her record label, this incredible business woman was able to continue to pursue her vision without the leader of the bunch. She later creates a new centre of attention for the group, known as Grandmaster Melle Mel and continues with success. Thus, it is evident that this woman provided

Mia was the winner of female athlete of the year from 1994 to 1998 (“The 1990’s Sports: Head Line Makers.”). Mia returned back to the World Cup for the third time as a member of Women’s National Soccer team in 1995. That year, the U.S. team took bronze (third) and Norway won the gold (“Hamm, Mariel (Mia) Margaret”). She helped the U.S. soccer team get
At the age of ten I was the most energetic, go-lucky, confident girl. I excelled at my beloved sport, soccer. I had been playing since I was just a mere five years old, far longer than the other girls. Playing so long had helped me be at a higher level of skill than most of the other players on my team.
This is where she first came to play with United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) legend Mia Hamm. Together they become a potent forward team. During this year Abby was named Rookie of the Year and the MVP of the championship game in 2003. While all this is happening she is balancing going back a forth between training for her club and for her country. In 2003, her hard work eventually paid off in the result of helping the USWNT get a third place finish in the FIFA Women’s World Cup and winning the 2004 Olympics. After the end of the 2003 season, the WUSA ended and became Women’s Professional Soccer. Abby joined the updated version of the Washington Freedom this season, but eventually, the team moved to Florida. Through all the confusion of changing leagues and teams, she continued to find success in her club career. In her international career, she also continued to find success after the 2004 Olympics. For years she was a consistent working and scoring for the USWNT and helped lead them to another third place finish during a FIFA World Cup. However, in the following year, her career took a hit. She broke leg right before the Olympics and was unable to compete for months. She came back from her injury with a new level of motivation. This leading to her being named 2010 U.S. Female Soccer Athlete of the Year for the fourth time and in 2011 scoring one of the most famous goals in the history of women’s soccer against Brazil in the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup. These successes lead her to winning the most prestigious award in international soccer, the FIFA Women’s Player of the Year. However through all of her success she had yet to win on the ultimate stage, the Women’s World Cup. This eventually came during the 2015 FIFA World Cup in Canada when the USWNT finally won their first world cup since 1999 and Abby played a huge leadership

Mary Haydock, now formally known as Mary Reibey was born on the 12th May 1777 (source 1) and was raised by her grandmother after both her parents died when Mary was of a young age. Mary was convicted of horse stealing at the age of 13 and was to be sent to Australia for seven years (source 1). Being sent away from her family and in particular her grandmother, meant that Mary was alone and isolated from the people that she would have felt most comfortable around. This lack of belongingness may have caused Mary Reibey depression which was common for convicts of such a young age.
Anthony’s first paid position was headmistress of the girls department of Canajoharie Academy in 1846. During this time she was deeply troubled by the fact that women received much lower wages than their male counterparts for equal work. She returned to the family farm in Rochester New York when Canajoharie Academy closed in 1849. At this time she began to be fully involved in reform work. She was introduced to Elizabeth Cady Stanton in 1851 who had played a key role in organizing the Seneca Falls convention in 1848, which was the first women’s rights convention in the United States. The two of them formed a lifelong friendship and ever after were constant partners in the battle for women’s rights and social justice. Their relationship was complimentary: Stanton did the writing and came up with ideas while Anthony excelled at organizing and delivering speeches. Her methods of raising public awareness and building grassroots support for social causes are still in use by political parties today.
The word unwavering is defined as something that is firm, fixed, and unshakable. Wavering faith is not faith at all. True faith is firm and consistent. When I think of a woman with unwavering faith, I think of a fearless civil rights activist whose courage helped people gain the right to vote. Her name was Fannie Lou Hamer.

“Winners never quit and quitters never win.” Mia Hamm was born on march 17 ,1972.
Jade started playing soccer 4 years ago, when she was 9 years old. I would consider her to be one of the top scorers on her team. Each spring she tries out and is happy to find out she made the team. She has come a long way from when she first started, her foot work has improved she has great sportsmanship, and is always encouraging her team mates to do their best.
Over her career with the National team she scored 184 goals. That is the most in international competition, according to USA Today. The 35-year-old has carried the U.S. Women’s National Team for a long time, and until recently, was the clear threat to score at anytime. However, she knows that it is time to move aside and let the next group of players carry on what she has built. Just like she did after Mia Hamm retired from the sport.
My first experience with soccer came when I was 10 years old, accompanied by my mom. My heart beating so hard, excited to finally play for a soccer team. Kids all around me all in love with the game, with grass so green and freshly cut, looking too perfect to be real. With a brand new soccer ball, two goals set up on each side, who couldn't resist playing all day. I was speechless. Recalling holding hands with my mom, as we walked towards the field, a memory I would never forget. Throughout the game my mom would cheer me on, she was my biggest supporter.
