If the opportunity were to be given to meet and have a conversation with one person in human history it would be Michelle Obama. She serves as a role model for many young black girls including myself. Seeing a strong black woman in power was just what I needed while I was growing up, someone like myself in the media, someone that I could aspire to be. Therefore, if I were given the opportunity to have a 30-minute conversation with anyone; it would undoubtedly be her. Growing up in a white community, there was never any people I really related to at home. Since my mom and date are separated I grew up in a completely white household, feeling as if I never truly embraced my biracial color. All the girls at school idolized stars like Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato; so I followed in suit. However, these stars didn’t look like me, there weren’t many biracial stars portrayed in the media. That is until 2008, when Barrack Obama ran for president. I remember the excitement around him, a black man running for office. However, I was more intrigued by Michelle, I finally saw someone like myself in the media, I found a woman I could look up to. …show more content…

I would thank her for being such a positive role model for me, showcasing a strong, and proud black woman in a whitewashed media. I would ask her what it was like to be his type of figure in the media, how she dealt with the hate and criticism she faced as the first lady. We would speak about politics, what she thinks of the administration now, where she thinks our country is going. Because her husband former president Barrack Obama, and our current president Donald Trump have such contrasting political views I would be curious to as what she has to say about our current president and his goals, since many of them are to remove and repeal most of Obama’s
