In Disney’s early life it was he and his brother Roy, who co-founded Walt Disney productions. It was and still is one of the best-known motion-picture productions ever. Did you know that Mickey Mouse was not supposed to be named, “Mickey” (Norwich, 67). His name was supposed to be, “Mortimer”. Walt’s wife liked the idea about a mouse wearing two big buttons on velvet pants, but not the name (67). Soon after they both agreed to the name, “Mickey”(67). Mickey was the center point of Walt’s dreams. It is how Disneyland started. It is also, how adults can fine like children when you go to a Walt Disney World theme park or even by watch a movie made by Walt Disney Studio’s. It is a place where dreams come true.
It is the first day of summer, and the weather outside is looking fantastic. Henry, Betty, and their parents, Shirley and David, just got out of bed and ready to start their day. When they go into the kitchen they notice their parents just sitting quietly at the table. There is a paper sitting in front of David; Henry goes to look at what it says. He gets a shocking look on his face, picks up the paper, and reads out “Pack your bags, we are going to DISNEY WORLD!” The kids start screaming with excitement and their parents cannot stop smiling. Both kids race to their room, and start packing their bags right away. The man that made this touching family scene was Walt Disney. Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago. He dropped out of school at age 16 and wanted to join the army. After serving for Red Cross in WWI, he started his first company - Iwerks-Disney Commercial Artists (Jolley). Walt Disney has impacted the United States and changed the world in a number of positive ways including teaching valuable life lessons, changing the animation industry, and creating a widely known theme park.
Although Walt Disney’s story of how Mickey Mouse came to be is very upsetting for him it has brought Mickey Mouse to us today. Mickey is here today because Walt Disney struggled with his first cartoon character Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. In reality Walt Disney drew Oswald the Lucky Rabbit but Oswald did not belong to Walt Disney, it belonged to Charles Mintz. Walt Disney: Creative Genius “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them” this quote was said by no other than the phenomenal Walt Elias Disney. It is not easy to envision a childhood missing his magic, whimsy and optimism. Walter Elias Disney was indeed a very brilliant man. Genius in the view of many including myself and genius in many aspects. Despite living a hard childhood, Walt made his own success even in the midst of the great depression and managed to triumph in business.
