This quote by Walt Disney is an inspirational quote because it means that if something bad is going on in your life, you will be led out of it and you will work through it. Although the Walt Disney didn't have a very good childhood, he grew up only to bring tremendous joy to many people and every day was Walt Disney became more successful.
Walt Disney's childhood was not great or any thing spectacular, but he still made the best of it. He was born on December 5th, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. He had four other siblings, a caring mother and an abusive dad. Walt played Peter Pan in a school play and he started drawing cartoons of horses and different made up characters with the help of a few art and drawing lessons. As he was growing up, one of Walt's jobs was to sell newspapers and candy on a train, after a while, he decided that that was not what he wanted to do anymore so he decided to stop. In 1923, Walt headed to Hollywood to make it big. He started out making advertisements for publishing and merchandising. He then began creating characters, some of them named Minnie, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. Walt Disney decided to create his own animation studio which he called Laugh-O-Grams where he created his first animated film with the help of one of his brothers. They called this short film Steamboat Willie. Steamboat Willie was the first animated cartoon with sound to ever be created. Working with his brother Roy and a few others Walt worked his way to his dream, and in 1923 he was able to set up his studio in Hollywood where his first famous cartoons were produced. Walter and his partners had previously aired their cartoons dubbed Laugh-O-Grams which were wildly popular and after they created a series of seven-minute fairy tales that combined live action and animation. Out of their studio in Hollywood, also known as the “Disney Brothers’ Studio”, came incredible characters such as Oswald the Lucky Rabbit who was famously feuded over by the brothers and caused their famous split. There, in 1915, Disney dropped out of school to go to the KC Art Institute. In September of 1917, he started taking night classes at the Chicago Institute of Art. When Walt had reached 16, Roy had gone to war, and his parents hated it. But they hated it more when Disney had tried to go as well. So, following his parent’s words, he instead applied to Red Cross to drive an ambulance down the roads, arranging his birth date so he is the approximate age of 17. Due to his work, he ended up moving to France for the year to continue driving the boring ambulance. After the year was over, he moved back to Chicago. Walt was then hired for an animating job just for showing his drawings to the manager, but was soon fired for distracting the other workers, since he couldn’t concentrate. But he met a friend there who followed him with his leave, Ubbe Eert "Ub" Iwerks. Together, they talked all night for weeks after Walt got fired. They talked about making their own company. Walt wanted it to be “Disney Iwerks”, but Ubbe explained that it sounded like an eye doctor office and didn’t like it, so the name was switched around to “Iwerks Disney”. It was known to be a failure, and the company got bankrupt. Iwerks Disney soon faded, and Disney went back to the drawing board.
