Ever since I came to this school, I have been participating more, but there are times where they call on me and I don't respond or I just say I don't know.In middle school, I have been using to study for everything, now I haven't been studying as much.I haven't really been preparing myself before tests/quizzes but for the upcoming finals, I am going to be studying the most because for sure I don't want to be failing 9th grade. When I have a bad grade in a class, I will usually be asking for help or questions like how can I raise my grade up.I do that because I want the teachers to know that I'm a serious person and that I care about my grades. This is a bad year for me for turning in homework.I usually turn homework in late or I don't even turn it in time and that's a very bad habit. …show more content…
I would like to improve in a bunch of stuff and starting with one of those things are turning in homework in time.I also want to study a lot more so I would do better in tests/quizzes.I don't want to be getting distracted no more because there has been a lot of times where I get distracted and I don't do my work.I also want to do better in Math class because Math is an important subject and also because I am not the best at Math so it would be nice to see myself do better in that
8th Grade Summary Essay 8th grade has been a hell of a ride, I went through ups and downs, met new people, learned new things, and finally finished middle school. But along this hellish ride I encountered many challenges (and sorta solved them). I learned life lessons and had people help me along the way, I achieved goals that I set for myself. Most importantly, I learned many methods from AVID that I hope I will always use and take advantage of. Without AVID I would probably not care about my grades so much as much as I do now.

1. Question: Why does Gatto think that school is boring and childish? How does Gatto’s depiction of school compare with your own elementary and secondary school experience?
For a long time, I've been struggling with my grades and keeping up with my school work. In middle school, I had a lot of low grades and did not truly seem to care. My mom decided to assign me to a tutor every week to help bring my grades up, until halfway through my freshman year when I stopped due to the fact I didn't need the tutoring anymore. I was told that I was doing well enough that I could handle it on my own, which motivated me to start working diligently on my own. I was an average student at that point, I had mostly A's and B's with a C or two, but I hoped to prove that I could do more. I had to find a new way of dealing with my study and learning habits in order to efficiently work hard and achieve the grades I desired. My goal
There is not much to do in the small town of Streator, Illinois. The town has only one cinema and very little to no shops at all, but there is one event that people in the community love to do, and that is attend sports games at the local high school. Streator Township High School, also known as Streator High School (SHS), was established in 1875 having the first graduating class in 1876. The building was funded by Ralph Plumb, Streator’s founder, and named in honor of Worthy S. Streator. In many ways, Streator High School is a significant part of the community from the sports games and club events, to the teachers and classes at SHS, but on top of them all is the countless life-long memories made at that very
Iris' mouth opened as she was about to say something, but closed it when Caitlin and Wally got out of the medical room, walking in their direction with blood staining their clothes. Pushing the pain aside, Cisco got up to close on the group.
In my classes, I am doing well but I am still struggling. I am keeping up with the people in my classes. My grades are are fair but I have trouble maintaining them. My current GPA is a 3.0. I struggle in my classes especially English and Engineering. The actions I am willing to take is to study and do my homework every night. By midterms I should be able to know formulas and writing tips that will help me during the tests. In English, I have trouble with the essays and sometime understanding what the prompt is asking. To make sure I am not "rolling the dice" on my grades, I will check my grades often. If I see that my grade has dropped I will make sure I turn in missing assignments and also doing test corrections. My grades connects
Hello, this is Anthony Iandimarino from your third grade class at Stadium Drive. It feels like it’s been forever since you had me in your third grade class. I can barely believe that I am in seventh grade now! I miss you so much and I hope you are enjoying yourself! Since I have this opportunity to speak to you again, I want to share a few things about what has happened to me lately.
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced was improving my prioritization of my school assignments. I’ve been somewhat of a slacker student as I procrastinated almost every time I was assigned homework, I would often do it the day it was due. However whenever I didn’t finish the assignment, I wouldn’t feel much regret as I thought one assignment wouldn't mean a thing to my grade. I kept on with this pattern through freshman year but then by sophomore year, my antics caught up with me. I had almost 5 missing assignments, a D in my Math III class, and I had almost all C’s by the end of that year. I was devastated; it was the first time I ever received a grade below a C in my entire life and most of all I was disappointed in myself and my mistakes.
The EU was formed to keep European nations out of war, and to make sure that Germany would never again be given the opportunity to revert “to its old antics”. For a long period of time, to be German was to be associated with the cruelties committed by the Nazi regime, and being German was something many people with German heritage struggled to be proud of. Fast forward to the world today, and Germany is a land known for its engineering prowess and for the high quality of the products it’s powerful economy manages to churn out year after year. But how could Germany have risen so rapidly while many of its neighbors in the EU struggle to rid themselves of their many economic woes? News agencies are constantly churning out reports relating to
It went on this way for the next several outings. Each starting with ardent research, planning, and prepping, only to fall short of expectations that were continuing to diminish along with my success rate. After three weeks into my eight-week stretch at Fort Jackson, my optimism and resiliency had pretty much tanked, and all expectations of finding a bunch of gold had faded into hopes of finding just a speck of gold. Although my analysis constantly pointed to proven locations which suggested great potential, as I traveled to site after site and sifted through pan after pan, I consistently came up empty. I sat in my room one Sunday evening after another long, hot, prospecting flop, confused why nothing was coming together, and angry
While in class I tended to goof around a little bit or become distracted from the task at hand, but at the end of the day I still had all of my essays and graded papers turned in on time without excuse. This is a rarity in high school, normally the kids who don't do anything in class don't do anything when they get home either. I was different, if there was a paper that needed to be completed by a certain deadline, I would go home and immediately begin working on it no matter what stage of the paper i was on. There are things that would have helped me improve the grades I received on the assignments tremendously like staying on task in class, but, it is senior year so you can't expect too much from an 18 year old surrounded by his best friends in the
It was a sunny September morning, and off to Tea with my dearest friend here in Clarksville Tennessee, Zara Who just happens to also be our neighbor; she lives two houses down from our house on the same side of the street. We became acquainted seven years ago when she moved to our street in Clarksville Tennessee, United States from her native England. Where she met and married her husband who was stationed there with the United States Army.
We started the term off with our new and returning 'Penn boys' enjoying an evening of team building activities. This was a great way to break down some nerves and create new friendships. We welcomed many new boys to Penn house in September, all have settled in well and quickly became apart of our boarding community!!
