We started the term off with our new and returning 'Penn boys' enjoying an evening of team building activities. This was a great way to break down some nerves and create new friendships. We welcomed many new boys to Penn house in September, all have settled in well and quickly became apart of our boarding community!! Penn boys have enjoyed lots of planned evening and weekend activity over this term. All, as well as in house activities and games nights, enjoy evening activities such as sports hall and swimming. For our full boarders, weekend trips to near by Oxford for a museum visit and shopping, Milton Keynes to the trampoline park, Shakespeare's home town of Stratford UponAvon and local Christmas markets at Chipping Norton. Party games and a photo booth followed to finish the night. Penn house enjoyed joining the other boarding houses to celebrate the annual boarders Christmas party. This year boarders decided they would like to dine out and chose a local Thai restaurant as this year’s destination. All Houseparent’s, Head of Boarding Victoria Baker, Head of KS4 Simon Baker and Head Toby Spence joined boarders. Next up for the Christmas celebrations was the Senior School Christmas Ball, this is a year 7 - 13 event hosted by the Sixth Form Leadership Team. The theme for this year was the widely anticipated Hollywood Glamour - with its own red carpet, photo booth, awards ceremony, hot dog stands and disco entertainment. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the evening, with many saying, "it was much better than expected". The last week of term was a slightly unusually one and something we have not seen in the last 4-5 years in Oxfordshire. We woke up Sunday morning to a blanket of glistening snow covering the whole site. Penn boys were the first out to enjoy, for some, a first time experience. A snowball fight broke out behind the house, encouraged by houseparent Dave. Quickly followed by snow angels and snowmen. The afternoon the whole house joined the local village sledging at nearby oddies field and later that evening, the Head, Toby Spence closed the school for Monday to all day pupils. The local village was inaccessible and with
Families and friends welcome to Montgomery Village Middle School 8th grade promotional ceremony. Today we embark on a new chapter of our lives as we end our middle school careers. We’ve spent the past three years of our lives in this wonderful place. We were given the opportunity to grow and learn. Our teachers, one of our biggest supporters, the ones we have built relationships with. Our teachers have seen us grow. They have been our guiding hands throughout our middle school career. The teachers in this school deserve the world. They motivate us each and every one of us each day. Most of us were able to mature throughout middle careers. We’ve grown aware of our surroundings. We’re all well aware of what’s to come as we open the next chapter
Distinctively visual representations allow the audience to envisage different purposes crafting emotions which stay with us forever. Graphic depiction is a fundamental characteristic within distinctively visual, thus the audience is able to be exposed to the intense illustrations exemplified by composers. Spudvilla’s portrayal of “Woolvs in the sitee” demonstrates the child’s inability to reconcile with himself. Contrasting to this notion; the playwright “Shoe-horn Sonata” to expose the brutal reality of POW camps during WWII. Therefore, distinctively visual forces the audience to succumb to the barriers society creates.
Evaluation of the Public Library Summer Reading Program: Books and Beyond...Take Me To Your Reader!
There are so many excuses I could’ve made up explaining why I didn’t do the Summer Reading Essay.I know I had more than enough time to finish reading my book and do my essay, but I just didn’t put enough effort into it.Honestly the whole “Summer Reading” idea is a bunch of nonsense, but don’t get me wrong I get why the school system wants us to read. Two months without classes can dumb down our brains,so reading now and then won’t hurt.
In Panama City Beach, Florida, drinking on the beach during Spring Break is illegal, but that is only one month out of the year. Panama City Beach is a tourist town and it relies on people coming from all over the world to visit. The busiest months are during Spring Break and when summer vacation starts. Right now, the law only states drinking any kind of alcohol on the beach during March is illegal and bars that are on the beach front must close at 2 am. The law should be changed to include drinking on the beach during the summer months illegal. If drinking on the beach during Spring Break and the summer months was made illegal fewer people would end up dying while vacationing, less sexual assaults, it will cut down on underage drinking, and the crime rate.

Writing has many tools and devices that can be used to influence the purpose and meaning of the a piece of work. In the two pieces of work, "Private License Plate Scanners Amassing Vast Databases Open to Highest Bidders-which is written in a way that it is anti-license plate tracking- and "Who Has the Right to Track You?'-which is written to be for license plate tracking- many different tools and devices are used by the authors. These pieces of work describe the benefits and drawbacks of collecting data and tracking fellow citizens, but use different forms of pathos, ethos, and logos to portray what they are trying to say. Also, both articles state how many are opposed to this tracking, arguing that it is against the First Amendment,
The activities began with registration on Thursday, May 19 at the Comfort Inn and Suites. A “Meet and Greet” event was held at the Red Lobster (Seminole Town Center) where classmates and their guest spent time renewing friendships and enjoying dinner.
The event that I decided to closely observe was the Back to School Night at Van Ness Elementary School. Back to School Night was on Thursday September 8, 2016 from 5:30-7:00 pm. This event was open to all parents and community members who wanted to learn more information about Van Ness. All teachers hosted parents and visitors in their classrooms, and special teachers and staff personnel rotated around to different classrooms and passed out essential information regarding uniforms, the master schedule and was available to answer any questions. In general, the entire staff contributed to the function of the event, and made sure the parents and visitors felt welcomed and received all the needed information.
Freshman girls told stories about how the seniors welcomed and guided them through their first year of high school volleyball.
Over 40 residents attended the senior prom. There was a photo-booth, nail painting, music for the residents to dance to, and coffee and cookies after. Before the prom started, chamber choir sang and the band played a few songs.

The pep rally will feature the regular participants, including the band, the cheer team, and the poms team will be doing a routine with the basketball players. There will be a few new games at the pep rally too, including an obstacle course that’ll be played by members of the court, and realistic version of the classic hungry hungry hippos game that volunteers from the crowd can participate in. In addition, the winter sports will be acknowledged by coaches and the prom will be hosting a pie throw. It should be a fun event to get the whole school excited for Saturday’s dance.
Last Friday October 21st, 2016 Buckeye Union High School pumped the students up for the win against Youngker at the Homecoming parade. The parade was led by ROTC followed by a diverse selection of clubs offered at Buckeye Union. To get students eager and confident about the football game that would happen later that evening, there was the burning of the pony. There was candy thrown to the elementary kids and parents who showed up to support the kids and teachers in the parade and show their school spirit. Sophomore Taelor Vanous showed her school spirit when she took children of a family friend to enjoy the different floats and candy. When asked where she thought the best place to stand was she stated “behind the elementary kids because that’s
Celebration of events of all types occur daily for varying reasons, each of which serves a purpose that fulfills the needs of the individual hosting it. The type of event I will host is an up-scale suit and tie sports banquet event. This will be a fundraiser used to secure donations for the support of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford youth sports program. The purpose or mission of this project is to provide the necessary monies for the involvement and participation of the youth of the area suffering from financial deprivations. This allows children who wish to participate in the sports offered in the HEB area an opportunity to do so through the scholarship fund established with all the proceeds garnered from the affair. As a parent of two children
