In my classes, I am doing well but I am still struggling. I am keeping up with the people in my classes. My grades are are fair but I have trouble maintaining them. My current GPA is a 3.0. I struggle in my classes especially English and Engineering. The actions I am willing to take is to study and do my homework every night. By midterms I should be able to know formulas and writing tips that will help me during the tests. In English, I have trouble with the essays and sometime understanding what the prompt is asking. To make sure I am not "rolling the dice" on my grades, I will check my grades often. If I see that my grade has dropped I will make sure I turn in missing assignments and also doing test corrections. My grades connects
My grades have always been a high priority for me, along with my friends, family, and personal health, all of which are important for my future as a productive citizen. Throughout my schooling I have never felt the animosity towards education which sadly many of my peers hold, in fack I have even come to enjoy the challenges that school can present. I think mainly because much of the skills needed to do well in school came fairly naturally to me. Due to my adeptness in school I have felt that I should help those around me which are struggling in school and since I began helping others in school, I have found that I can explain those subjects which came easily to me in a way that could be easily understood by those I
For a long time, I've been struggling with my grades and keeping up with my school work. In middle school, I had a lot of low grades and did not truly seem to care. My mom decided to assign me to a tutor every week to help bring my grades up, until halfway through my freshman year when I stopped due to the fact I didn't need the tutoring anymore. I was told that I was doing well enough that I could handle it on my own, which motivated me to start working diligently on my own. I was an average student at that point, I had mostly A's and B's with a C or two, but I hoped to prove that I could do more. I had to find a new way of dealing with my study and learning habits in order to efficiently work hard and achieve the grades I desired. My goal
My Junior Year of high school just recently started. I have learned so many different things while attending high school, and still have over a year to learn even more. As Matthew Kelly said, “whether you are sixteen or sixty, the rest of your life is ahead of you. You cannot change one moment of your past, but you can change your whole future.” This means while I have done a lot in my past, I cannot change anything that has already happened, but I am able to change my future. One of the most important things that I am involved in right now is school. My first two years at CBHS were good, and I made decent grades. Some of the grades that I made I am not very happy with now but I cannot change that so I need to focus on my grades right now because those are the ones I can change.
I admit, I had a very challenging time last semester, and as a result my grades suffered. I don’t mean to make excuses for my poor performance in school but I would like to explain my circumstance. During my second semester of college I treated my classes like I did in high school thinking I could coast by and pass my classes, but when I noticed how poorly I was doing in class everything was already headed downhill. I started the second
Throughout each school year I try to push myself to learn more in every class. I have managed to be in the top 10% of my graduating class due to my hard work in school. My GPA, 98.34% at the end of quarter two, is something that I have maintained because of my eagerness to learn and better myself. I find it fun to learn new things, and to try new things. This year I have tried my best to push myself, taking two Advanced Placement courses and two other weighted classes.
When it came to school work and tests in class I always performed quite well and never had any problems there. The story was different when I had to do work at home. I was never motivated, and I was lazy when it came time to start my homework. My grades suffered drastically because I put off my work until it was late, or I just never did it. For a while I even realized my problem and still couldn’t get myself to do my homework. The worst part about having bad grades at the time was that it made me ineligible for the sports that I loved. After I found that my
For example, my grade in English, 78.6 percent was caused by my slow transition into college level writing. My grammar on the writing assignments is something I struggle with, because I write the way I talk. I am trying to work on my grammar by using the proof-reader from paperrater.com. I am also trying to work on my paper writing skills by doing a lot of pre-writing strategies. Also I did not do as well as I wanted on the math placement test because I did not prepare myself properly for the test. I was under the impression that the test was going to be on majority of the things we learned in class but to my surprise, the test had trigonometry on it. I think if I had better prepared myself, I would have done better and placed in the class I actually wanted. My time management skills needs a lot of improvement, my financial and professional goals were not completed because of this. I was so focused on completing homework and ended up completely forgetting about those two
My current GPA is a 3.9/4.0. This is something that I have worked tremendously hard for through late nights of studying, focus, determination, and not to mention being substantially younger than most students in my major. I have always strived to give a 110% effort into all of my academic endeavors. My most effective strategy to date is to write things down. I, like many others, am a successful visual learner. Physically writing things down on paper is the most efficient way for me to stay on top of what needs to be done. Another prominent strategy that contributes to my success is to avoid procrastination. When I have a deadline that needs to be met, I find that setting smaller deadlines for myself in advance is my best tactic. In return, all of the work does not pile up the night before the assignment is due. An additional strategy that I continually use, is keeping my goals close sight. I am continually making smart choices that will benefit me the near future. My top strategy would be effective communication. To communicate effectively with others is essential for succeeding at anything in life. With three years of undergraduate studies in a nationally-accredited program, 100+ hours clinical observation through a Directed Individual study, a mission trip, and at FSU’s speech and hearing clinic, and personal experience on my behalf, I believe that I have
Over the past three years I have managed to maintain a solid 3.46 grade point average (GPA) over the past 6 semesters, not including two summer semesters as well. I kept this GPA while working, at some points, 2 jobs and while taking classes and working full time every summer. I’ve worked hard to maintain this GPA while putting myself through school because I want to be not only the first person in my family to earn a Bachelor’s degree, but also the first person in my family to earn a Master’s.
I’m definitely not the best student in the world, but I sure am one of the hardest working students I know. It was very easy to find me because I was always either at work, school, home, taking care of my grandma, or babysitting. I definitely had my head screwed on tight. I do believe that because I was/am taking care of so many people and trying to help my parents out financially, my grades have slipped quicker than I anticipated. I took on two study halls my junior year, and am taking on two study halls my senior year also. This definitely dropped my grade point average but I don’t regret it. I spend my study halls tutoring the students at my school. I specifically tutor for the Writing center and when I’m not tutoring for that, I’m helping
My academic history has been dubious over the years I have been in school. I say iffy because my grades have been all over the place if you will. One quarter I 'll A 's and B 's. The next quarter I may have A 's, B 's, and C 's. In elementary I had mostly A 's. If not then A 's and B 's. In middle school is when I started to receive C 's, but I somehow managed to receive A/B honor roll at the end of quarters. Currently I have 1 F, 1 C, a few B 's, and 3 A 's. I really need to work in Prof. Comm. because I have an F in it. My grades never have any correlation between them. The classes I have been successful in is science, technology, English, and history. I 've been successful in science because science is my favorite subject. I 've been successful in technology because I pay attention and utilize the electronics for my benefit. I 've been successful in English because I take good notes and ask questions if any. Also, I 've been successful in history because I find history really enjoyable and very interesting. The classes I have struggled in are math, and Spanish. I say math because I usually don’t remember all the formulas, equation forms, and ways to break down an equation. Also, I haven 't been successful in Spanish because I usually don’t study the material as much as
I really try my hardest in school to get the knowledge that I need to prepare me for college and for my future life after college. There are times in school that I really don't like the teacher that I have and would think that they might give me a bad grade just because they don't like me. Then after a couple days when I am on top of my class my attitude towards the teacher changes and so does my grade but don't worry it changes in a good way. There were times where my grade went down quite a bit because i got sick really bad. Even though I was sick I still tried to go to school so I don't get behind in my classes and miss school just from some dumb head ache or stomach pain. When I did get behind I always still caught back up with my work and
The last time I checked, my GPA was somewhere in the 2.0s. When examined with a blind eye to the specifics, it most likely shows people that I'm a poor student, as most people judge scholarly ability by GPA. However, I believe that this is a flawed system, as it does not accurately show the full picture. When the dozen or so colleges that I applied to looked at my GPA, they were not looking into the meaning behind the number, missing the specifics of which classes I was performing poorly in and which classes I excelled in. Since a GPA focuses on everything at once rather than highlighting a student's struggles and weaknesses, it leads them to believe that a student is performing a particular way in all of their classes, a statement that has
I’m not very good but I do my best to be organized and pay attention, I study, and meet expectations. Over the years I have formed good habits because I just don’t like bad grades; They make me extremely stressed out. My grades and scores only prove my perspective of myself. My class rank is #1, GPA is 4.0, and my star scores are in the upper
In school and in english, I try my hardest to get good grades. Even if I don't feel like studying I know i have to look it over in order to hopefully get a better grade. To study, I look over the terms or what is being studied a couple times over. After looking it over a couple times, I may test myself and see what I need to study more. I am good at getting my homework done. If I am done with the homework for tomorrow, I see if I can get any done or started for later in the week to be prepared. My goal is to get good grades in class and to finish out the class with a good grade. Another goal of mine is to get better at English and understand it more because I don't think it is my best class. I also would like to pass the Keystones. My weaknesses
