Army regulations and soldiers on our own creed illustrate how a military service member should conduct themselves on a daily basis, on and off duty. Loyalty, duty, respect, commitment, honor, punctuality, reliable, integrity, and personal courage are Army core values.

There are many reasons in that in this world we have rules, regulations, laws, traffic signs, and other means of directions that individuals must follow for various reasons. Without the utmost care to follow these rules, things that could easily be prevented may happen, resulting in very negative things. This however, is even more important when in the Army, as the consequences can be very severe. The Army has a plethora of rules and regulations that all soldiers, regardless of rank or duty station must follow. These rules and regulations are put forth to us for various reasons. These reasons can range from having a professional appearance to keeping yourself alive. The most common rules and regulations are about common courtesy and appearance. These are important to all soldiers, as this is what the citizens of not only the United States of the America judge us from, but also most of the world judges our nation based soley on the individuals of the Army. Since we as a group are split all across the world, many people see us each and everyday. Some countries only see Americans through the soldiers they see everyday. We represent the pride and honor of the American nation, and without following the rules and regulations that govern these common courtisies and appearance we do nothing but fail at our duty, and let down the American people. Being a professional soldier goes a long way. It means a person take pride in everything they do throughout life. It takes a lot of energy and time to earn this title so upholding its standard is a must. A soldier abides by all his and her codes and creeds. Also, the soldier must follow the army set values. There are seven values and all have a significant importance to our nation; loyalty, duty, respect, selfless-service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. These seven values are all a soldier needs to be professional in the army. Following each of them and executing them will build your character and define you as a soldier and a person.

Through the teaching and instilment of how we do things as soldiers and discipline, we honor and respect the rich heritage which the Army is built on, while also ensuring the future success of the Army and the soldiers who come after us by, inspiring us to adhere to and exceed the standard. One of the standards you learn in the early training phases in the military is right place, right time right uniform. Standards and discipline are the foundation of what is professionally, legally, and morally correct and as such instills trust in ourselves and our fellow comrades.
