Reviewing the list of “Mistakes Students Make,” I definitely recognize a lot of the mistakes
that I have made in my biological studies. These mistakes listed are very detrimental to a
students grades and education and it is important that students stay away from those
mistakes and try to correct them as soon as possible. Changing to the strategy listed will help
students break the bad habits that first year college students form so that they will succeed
in their later college years. When I was in high school, I normally waited until the night
before a test of quiz to start studying. I would sit and memorize the material so that on the
test/quiz I could just spit out the information and then forget it as soon as I turned it in,
For first year students coming straight from high school, college life can either be very exciting or overwhelming depending on how well one prepares for it. Some have the notion that college is fun and is all about partying, while some believe that it is an environment in which they can achieve the ultimate freedom thus escape the stringent rules made by their parents at home. Others look forward to experiencing a different learning environment while being exposed to different cultures and sharing different academic knowledge. According to Lupien, McEwan, Gunnar, and Heim (2009), going off to college involves significant adjustments to their daily routines; sleeping and eating habits, time-management skills, and stress levels will be altered in one way or another. First-year students have to adjust to the new school environment, different social settings, and new schedules, all without the help and guidance from their parents, who have been there for them for eighteen years. Over 30% of college freshman report that they feel overwhelmed (Klainberg, Ewing, & Ryan, 2010), where some students even opt to work as they juggle their class and work schedules. Some students work at a job or study harder than others, but they are all trying to get degrees so maybe one day they will have meaningful and significant lives. It is a constant struggle for everyone who is trying desperately to make him or herself into a success. And every college student wants to be involved in society in a positive manner, allowing contribution of their ideals and values to others.

Go by the worksheet to fill in all needed data then review the data with the subject before they leave. This will cut down on misremembering information. In regards to mis-recording data get someone to review your information or review it yourself the next day. When writing down lab values I can record it and then get someone to call out the lab values while I double check them. Our after getting rest I can look at the information with fresh eyes and double check myself. I believe that this is a major error. One number being off can skew the results drastically. By improving upon this error, I believe statistical information will be better.
All people that are false accusers need to be punished. The false accusations are too common on college campuses. This is due to a large amount of media and most everyone thinking that no one can make up a story about something that is taken so serious. We are taught to always to listen and believe every accuser, no matter what, they are the victim they are never wrong, they would never lie about this. In the news article, “The Biggest Misconception About Today’s College Students” I am not really shocked, but there was some information that made me feel sad. It gave me a new perspective on college. When Mellow talks about peoples perception on college, I agree because I know that college is sometimes perceived differently by people and it is not what I may think. Right now I do not see the full picture because I only see what is the best school for me to attend. I will soon understand more on this topic when I go to college and may feel similar feelings.

In the period of transition to university, first year students appear to have different challenges. As early studies, health and study issues were identified as two examples of challenge in first university year. According to Douglas et al. This idea is briefly understood that the problems of first year in university seems to be too hard for students to deal and as a consequence, students tend to
The errors I am most guilty of committing frequently would be, filtering out the positive, unreal ideal, and labeling. I never know the terminology for these habits until now. When reading the article, I could picture scenarios when I committed these errors.
