Sound,it's all around us and we take it for granted without knowing its origin. Sound cartoon was invented by the grandfather of cartoons, Walt Disney. Walt Disney's first sound cartoon was called Steamboat Willie. People in theaters were very impressed about this and people even bought tickets a second time to watch it. In my opinion Sound cartoon is the most important invention in America due to its history and how people reacted when they first saw it. A long time ago before sound cartoon, people would watch a scene and after that scene they would display worlds which would describe what they were saying. That would be a terrible time to be living. These are the good days where sound surrounds us in every way possible. Sound is all around you and you don't even notice it. From your TV to your phone to your iPad. In America over 95 percent. That's a lot of people using sound cartoon. Even I realize that when I watch Spongebob I wonder …show more content…
Sound has music playing in the background that is either sad or happy. Sound is also used in video games when maybe a main character dies there would be sad music or in a movie when the protagonist prevails and defeats the villain there would be happy music which symbolizes how important that scene was. Like when you watch YouTube there might be scary music to show the seriousness of that video. Like for example when I watch Spongebob there is happy music in the scenes where spongebob and Patrick are playing. Sound cartoon is the most important invention in everyone's life and they might not even realize. There is sound all around you and you take it for granted and have not realized where this invention came from and how it all started. This invention has helped blind people love life. At last this invention shows emotion to the people watching movies or watching TV. Sound is all around you, so appreciate it for what it has
In my opinion, the automobile and the utilization of electricity have been two of the most important inventions in United States history. The invention of the car expanded our horizons in the fact that citizens were able to travel, but also because people could live in places other than the city. Also, the utilization of electricity has become a part of life that we would not know how to live without. Electricity has allowed for businesses and homes to run in a convenient and efficient manner. Without electricity, we as a nation would have very little technology.
Sound, in a film, is the element that the filmmaker uses to explain a movie’s story. It reproduces and magnifies the world that has been created by visual elements of the film. The aural effects of certain objects, settings and characters are what define the sound. There are many types of sound when it comes to film and they all play a specific part in telling the story. Examples of sound are diegetic and nondiegetic sound.
In the year 1790, the United States had begun to make a name for itself. The United States was ending its own revolution and the world was evolving around it. The country’s new found freedom created a need for self-reliance. The United States was out to prove its worth, that its institutions, democracy, and military were worth the efforts of so many. During this time the number of inventions created throughout the world was astonishing. Inventions like: the cotton gin, batteries, cupcakes, crackers, gas turbine, and bicycles are just a few inventions that were created during this time period. Donalad W. Banner, U.S. Commissioner of Patents and Trademarks, wrote The Book of Knowledge where he explained that before the patent was created
In this lesson, I have learned more about one of the most important presidency in America's history. To start with, I learned it was one of the most important because of the events that took place. Jackson was president from 1828-1836, during in which time, Whigs referred to the president as King Andrew because he pretended he ruled all like a dictator or king would do. Jackson dealt with many issues during his two terms. One issue he wanted resolved, more like gone, was the National Bank. He despised this bank, mainly because he lost money because of it putting smaller banks out of money. He had a new treasury building be built where he could keep an eye on everyone's money. This is a smart idea because there should be something or someone keeping track of everyone's money at all to ensure no one loses it especially when it is at no fault of their own. Another issue that arose is tariffs that are put on goods. In 1832, the President and Congress raised taxes and people, mainly from the south are outraged. South Carolina attempted to nullify this tariff, it did not work well for them. President Jackson ordered them to be a part of it or he would make them.
Another great invention was the radio. In such a short amount of time, every house ended up owning one. Radios were starting to become a national obsession that was uniting the nation. Most people would stay up late to listen to the news, sports, and concerts. The radio impacted life during this decade by allowing people to keep up with all of various events and
For example, in the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Tim Burton uses non-diegetic music to point out emotions of the children when they are loose in the eatable room. By using music, Burton shows the children’s thoughts and emotion. Burton lets the viewer absorb a deeper understanding of each character. This also lets the viewer experience the candy room through each of the children perspective which creates a connection between the character and the viewers. Tim Burton also uses music and sound in the film Edward Scissorhands. When Peg makes her way into the garden of the mansion, Peg sees green and well design bushes of objects in the garden. This scene is companied by sounds of bells and strong presence of strings incorporated. These elements gives the viewer a childlike and romantic feeling. The music and sound playing the background can make the viewer feel warm in the inside and see Peg isn’t in danger. It can also make the reader why the garden is so nice and bright and the mansion looks dark and
Imagine a time when the only way to get around was by riding a horse, or a time when the only way to get in contact with someone was sending a letter, or a time when the only way to dig a hole was using a shovel, during the mid-19th century young innovators, Alfred Nobel, Samuel Morse, and Thomas Edison developed machines that made doing all that easier. Inventions and innovations like dynamite, the railroads, and the telegraph helped the United States’ economy grow. Scientist developed, a railroad that connected New York City to San Francisco, a telegraph that could send messages across long distances within minutes, and dynamite which could blow up anything along its path. The United States had a small, weak, economy, until the mid-1800s when inventions and innovations united and strengthened the economy.
The beginning of the 20th century was marked by the increase in American inventors and entrepreneurs of vehicles looking to have their products dominate the world. Famous manufacturers of this era include Henry Ford (founder of Ford Motor Company), William Boeing (founder of The Boeing Company), William C. Durant (founder of General Motors), and George M. Hendee (founder of Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing), just to name a few. The designs produced under the aforementioned manufacturers/inventors would prove to be true innovations, paving the way for technology for decades to come and providing the basic designs on which modern vehicles are built on. The same can be said about William S. Harley, the co-founder and first chief engineer of
Sound provides an excellent descriptor for an audience member. The elements of diegetic and non-diegetic sound can elaborate a scene with size, scope and time passage. As off-screen (non-diegetic) and on-screen (diegetic) sound is portrayed the scene is enhanced to give the viewer a better idea of how they should view the film.
They all helped people get work done quicker and more conveniently than by traditional methods. Microwaves allowed women to take less time in the kitchen by heating up food in a flash unlike cooking or grilling, and producing similar effects. Printers and computers were great for work life since they allowed people to organize important documents, send and fax letters, make and print posters, and do so much more with the click of a mouse or the press of a button. Typing and printing was much swifter and easier than writing things down by hand. Video tape recorders also proved to be beneficial, especially in journalism fields. Used as a form of work and entertainment, people could capture important events and memories, exactly as they happened through the footage. This invention was also used as surveillance and made catching criminals and perpetrators easier and more legitimate, similar to how people use videos today as proof of crimes
For example, in the scene where Kit shoots Holly’s father, voice over was used to reinforce Holly’s reaction to her family member being killed. She displays a dislocated emotion giving the audience a perplexed feeling because the character is very young to be experiencing this and by this scene being narrated, Malick is trying to convey heartlessness. Sound has been used to shed light on how a situation might have been in a real life. It also reinforces the disconnection between these characters and their environments. Sounds in general make a movie interesting thus many people will be attracted to watch it.
Without audio, the effect of films on an audience is less powerful and effective. Music/sound can allow an audience to automatically feel and connect with a scene when the scene has music or sound effects. For instance, in the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Burton overlays many scenes with
Sound is an expression. Sound is what enables music and the ability to hear is what allows me to experience that. I know this is something that I can never take for granted. Music is art that entertains and I will continue spending the rest of my life devoted to that. This idea was discovered when I played the drums for the first time. Fifteen years went by where all the instruments consumed me. Now, at twenty, after three years of working and pursuing an undesired degree, while marching my way through adversity, I see again how I cannot lose my passion for art and music.
To me, the most important invention of the Industrial Age is the telephone. It is the most important for several reasons. First of all, the telephone helped people communicate with others instantaneously. Before the telephone, the only way to communicate was to send a letter or travel to convey your message. This process could take up to two weeks or a year depending on the location of the recipient. With the telephone, many people have instant communication at their fingertips. Although the telephone could only be afforded by the wealthy at that time, many middle class families were able to have a telephone installed in their home after a few years. Finally, the telephone helped the growth of many businesses. The telephone helped many businesses
Sound does however perform much more important, intricate and complex functions than commonly accepted. Sound combines with moving pictures in various ways to create meaning but is diverse and has numerous other uses.
