Knowledge is power for everyone in the world no matter what language a person speaks or where they are from. It has helped many people to do what they love and to live freely. Without knowledge we would not have a place to live, have a job, or even communicate with others. Besides having these wonderful opportunities when a person has that power it also helps an individual to have confidence. Knowledge is important but motivation is also key to being free whether it is physically or mentally. In The Allegory of The Cave Plato talked about how the man was trapped in the cave for years but when one day when he escaped he couldn’t handle being in the “outside world.” However, he was finally able to get used to everything even the living plants and animals that he thought were just shadows because that’s all he was able to see in the cave. He was learned how to get used to the sunlight and after a while he decided to tell his other friends that were trapped in the cave about the “outside world.” But once he entered the cave, he was not used to being in the dark however he tried to go back and free his friends but they refused because they thought he was crazy. This shows that the man did not give up on something that was out of his comfort zone but he tried to surpass it and try to get used to being in the light. …show more content…
