Movie Comparison: Beowulf And The Serpent

When I saw the movie last Saturday, I was so impressed because it is a 3D version and even though it’s a 3D movie, it looks like a real person or actor in the movie. I noticed the special effects, and it was stunning. I definitely love the moral of the story, the musical scoring, the visual effects and the animation. The historical accuracy was good, the costume and the traditions, they even had the right accents. The movie was kinda funny at times, it had good actions, good twists in the story and pretty good acting. The movie was able to rely the message it was meant to rely to the audience, the importance of bravery and heroism, and to sacrifice yourself.

In the movie I like the part that when Beowulf encounters Grendel’s mother, who happens to be Angelina Jolie and actually mates with half woman, half water …show more content…

They are both naked because Beowulf wants to have a fair battle. But for me, it is still not fair since Grendel is a giant monster and Beowulf is just only small but vigorous man. I really like the climax of the movie which is the battle of Beowulf and the Serpent. It is really challenging especially when you imagine yourself that you’re in the movie and in the place of Beowulf’s situation. I felt deep pity with Beowulf because he had nothing to do but to cut his other arm since his sword cannot reach the Serpent’s heart. It is because stabbing the heart is the only way to kill the Serpent.

But I was very sad when Beowulf attacks the dragon, but he did not succeed. And he is mortally wounded. And even though Beowulf faces many challenges throughout the epic but in the end he defeated all, he should called “Epic Hero” because he is so powerful that instead of arming for action, he strips for it.
