1. Movie plot summary:
The movie is talking about morocco, and colonialism is this area. It’s basically talking about the story of an American woman, who was kidnapped with her children, where she got to live the life of a barbarian and understand the difference between the barbarians, the rulers and the Muslim leader, al-rasoli, who was trying to defend his country. She ended up bonding with him and realizing that he would never harm her or her children and that he was trying prove the wrong of colonialism and the morocco rulers.
2. Give MANY SPECIFIC examples of movie scenes of how did European powers affected the host country as shown in the film:
The European powers affected morocco in many aspects, starting from the gun-power that they brought in front of swords. And moving to their intervention in ruling, where the movie showed an example of a very weak sultan, just a boy who plays with missiles and want some lions. I think that was referring to the technique of choosing a weak leader to be able to control over his land.
The movie also shows a big division in Morocco’s community. Many conflicts appeared between the ruler and his people including the Islamic leader, the barbarian groups and even the civilians that appeared in some scenes as people who are living under serious danger.

A sign is a physical thing, gibes a brief message, stands for something, and usually instructs someone about something. Examples of signs are warning signs, street signs, informations signs, open/closed signs of shops and restaurants, and many more. A symbol, on the other hand, is something that is visible but represents something invisible that is hard to put into words. It requires your interpretation and they affect how we feel. Examples of symbols are actions like hugs or hand shakes when someone passes away, objects like wedding rings to represent a couples love, a dove to express peace, and a cross to represent Christianity.

1. What are the main themes, politically and socially, that are portrayed in the film?
Heroes are present in movies, tv shows or games. A “hero's journey” shows a character's journey on gaining the title of a “hero”. A movie or tv show may show a character or multiple characters go through very difficult times but it the end show how they overcame adversity and is now known as a hero. In the Lion King, Simba can be seen as a hero with the challenges he endures and what he overcomes by the end. Simba has many heroic qualities his wisdom, compassion for others, moral reasoning and responsibility makes him stand out above all other characters. Simba as a young lion, was very selfish and naive to many things happening at Pride Rock . His choice to run away at a young age showed he didn't want to face his problems or accept what he thought he did. Simba begins to gain heroic qualities as he is now living his own life in a faraway jungle, he is learning how to be independent, and how to live his own life instead of being in the shadow of his dad, the king of Pride Rock.

Casablanca, first released on January 23rd, 1943 is undoubtedly one of the masterpieces of Classical Hollywood film. Written and released in the midst of World War Two it explores themes such as love, desire and especially sacrifice. Although the love story of the protagonists is the cause and catalyst for most of the narrative, one would not necessarily associate it with the conventional Classical Hollywood love story. Rather as a fabula based on the principle of the importance of sacrifice in order to overcome a common enemy, in this case the Nazis. Casablanca does indeed contain many of the common characteristics identified with the Classical Hollywood film. An example being the the way director, Michael Curtiz used a mainly chronologically ordered narrative structure and the utilisation of a Cause and Effect chain. In this essay I will looking at the various ways I believe this film does fall into the criteria of a Classical Hollywood narrative and also how some could perceive that it does not.
