Truly, the thought of an education system is one based around what cartoons and shows make of it: a drab, boring location only meant to educate students by menial methods and to essentially waste their times. That fiction is just that, nothing more, nothing less. From my years within school, I’ve encountered some fantastic educators and some poor ones. However, there’s one teacher I’d love to commend for everything she’s ever done for me, ranging from the bare bones of the language to the complexity of my writing today: Mrs. Fetchko. My first instance of being her pupil was in seventh grade, back at Valley Elementary Middle School, where I was warned and cautioned over the harshness and cruelty she has with her homework and grading policies. I was blessed to have her chosen as the teacher for the job this year; though I’ve changed quite a bit since then. I’ve sharpened my act and I’ve become a bit lethargic on my habits, yet she still sees the same potential and determination within me. Now, one thing is to be noted: I have hypersomnia, a sleeping disorder developed from extreme cases of insomnia, which means I pass out at random times throughout a day, no matter the location. I’ve spent a hefty amount of time asleep in this class and I still succeed as one of the finer students, at least in my opinion. Her lessons go on through the class and the consideration Mrs. Fetchko has to me goes as far as letting me sleep. All of our work is posted online, and I always have it done when given. I just find it fascinating that she was, and still is, deemed this horrid teacher who cares for nobody. Yet, she’s by far the best teacher I’ve ever had. She truly cares for her students and she wants the best for every student that enters her room, no matter who you are. Her selflessness is something to aspire for. Yet, over the years I never thanked
