The beauty of music is found in every soul” were the words of my grandmother. She always managed to bring music into every aspect of her life; whether it was ordinary housework or religious functions, she was ready to sing at any time. Her music was not the only part of her life; she was also the mother of six children and the wife of a prominent farmer. Although her life was complicated and, at many times, unbearable, music was never forsaken; it was one of her treasures. Through her and her treasure I realized what life and death really are. Her perseverance through her problems and her patience with her children and grandchildren has always amazed me.
During elementary school, I remember a period of time

I’ll never forget the last time I saw my grandmother; she was planning a trip to India. She was packing for weeks and was waiting eagerly for the plane ride “home”. I went to visit her before she left; her frail body seemed as if it was lifeless. I never realized how much pain she was in until I saw her that morning taking her five pills. I tried to persuade her to stay with us; however, she still insisted that she was in perfect condition to go “home”. That was the last time I saw her, physically.
She had a successful plane ride to India, but unfortunately she never experienced the return flight. Two days after she was settled in her home, she died in her sleep. It was the kind of death everyone dreams about—no pain. Although she died silently, the pain was still felt miles away. At first, I though she was just resting in India, but, I realized she was dead when I went to India the following summer. I saw a school in her town, which dedicated the next ninety-eight years to musical education. It was at this time that I realized what my grandmother’s life truly meant; it was a path of obstacles that were achieved successfully. The reward, however, came after her death. After walking through the school, I realized that even after her death she lived on through the walls of the school and especially through my memories of her.
Realizations often come after the fact; for
When I was in fifth grade, I was caught between two worlds, playing a woodwind or string instrument. If I played a woodwind instrument I would have to blow in it to make music, but string instruments are played with a bow to make music. After much thought, I decided that the violin was the best instrument for me, because it has a beautiful, unique sound, plus the possibilities are never-ending. I could receive a compliment from a teacher, or even get accepted to the symphony.
With means to express oneself, helps one overcome the difficulties of life. This approach represents the entire nature of the hip hop culture, especially when dealing with social justice issues. Today, the hip hop culture association revolves around raps (lyrics) and the rappers which reflect how consumers receive messages about social justice issues. Unlike breaking and graffiti, the music/lyrics penetrate society more. However, for this analysis, the focus will rely on a visual element with a connection to hip hop music. Even though a music video would make sense as a visual means of expression, this analysis has more interest in the cover art that goes with a hip hop album. Also, this focus will lead to the question of how important is art
However, there was one thing my great-grandmother could recognize and remember; music. When her daughter played some of her favorite tunes she would bob her head to the beat of the music. On some days, she’d mouth the lyrics she had learned up to 50 years ago. The memories that had seem hopelessly lost forever had been temporarily restored through music.
The Musical Composition that has changed my life to how I see music is the song The Stroke from Billy Squier. I did not really know the meaning of the song, but it really Widened my Horizon in terms of music from only before listening to The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and The Monkeys. Then later being able to listen to Rush, AC/DC, Aerosmith And Other Really good rock bands that I still love today. Then I started collecting Records then I started collecting CDs, the first album I bought for myself is the majestic Black Sabbath Album “Paranoid” The album with the musical compositions Paranoid, Iron Man, War Pigs/Luke’s Wall, Planet Caravan, Rat Salad, Electric Funeral, And Fairies Wear Boots. This album was such an amazing introduction to Black
Sarah Chicoine had loved music ever since she was a child. Her house was always filled with music. Whether it was her father playing the piano, listening to her favorite recordings, or her own music she created. At the age of seven her father enrolled her into piano lessons. She continued to take piano lessons until the age of fifteen. The piano was not the end of her musical career, it was just the foundation. Even though she involuntarily stopped the lessons, she continued to play piano throughout her life. When she was in eighth grade she joined her elementary school orchestra, where she studied viola. The same year she also enrolled in her school’s choir as a soprano. Throughout her musical career she built her reputation as a leader, not
Through his playing, the cellist resolves to inspire his listeners and remind them to never give up. And it clearly works: “Music fills the empty air. And for an evanescent moment, anger and violence are no longer heard.” (Page#). Music is hope. The cellist brings many people back to the realization that music, beauty, and liveliness were once abundant in their city; this same music will someday return to bring joy and happiness so long as the people dream and hope for things to be better. The music gives these people the confidence that one day, they will be able to be human again: to feel beauty and life rather than death and fear. As music is played inside concealed streets, the respect shown to those that passed away becomes a life force in a city in need of support. Despite the risk of death, the cellist continues to play to respect the dead, as a symbolic message that their deaths will not be in vain. For the cellist, a vision of hope grows in his mind that he must continue to inspire hope by all

Sound is what makes everything come alive. From when an infant in the womb becomes familiar to their mother’s voice. Noise can have a great effect on humans, especially music. Music can speak louder than words, particularly in certain situations where they may not be able to express what they are feeling. It is incredible how many sounds and voices put together can have a special connection to emotions, and bring back memories. Music is a language everyone can understand and relate to. Poet Rachel M. Harper, uses the idea of music to let readers into her childhood. Harper dedicated the poem to her father, who has a significant part in her life, since he is the only parent she has left.
In the air lays an intense tension, an intense concentration, nearly palpable to all those engaged within it. All people are focused in, perhaps on a single leader, perhaps on the slightest breath or noise. And all of this happens within the blink of an eye, merely an instant, but in the eyes of these musicians, it may be the instant that matters the most. It may in fact be the instant that sets the tone of the entire performance to come. The moment that decides whether all of those extra hours of practice for the slightest details was worth it. But to the audience, to the untrained observer, all that happens is the lift of a hand and the music begins. Perhaps they sense the tension in the air, but they certainly do not realize the extent of the work and dedication it takes to be truly successful on such an endeavor. Beyond the more menial task of reading over the notes and rhythms of the piece many times before, or maybe even looking minutes before, comes what truly may be defined as musicianship and artistry. It comes from the thousands of hours of dedication and practice that allows musicians to look beyond the notes and rhythms, creating something truly profound.
As I worked through my emotions, music became my instrument of expression. But it was not enough. On August 25th, I made an attempt on my life. In memoriam, it was a low point, the darkest image of my existence. But I had friends, and I had family. With their support, I worked my way into the
Musical instruments have played many major roles in helping with the construction of many societies around the world today. Many people do not realize what musical instruments have been responsible for and how they have helped shape the world today. There have been many instruments that have helped create and sculpt the world, but one instrument that I want to inform readers about is the trumpet and where it came from, as well as how it has changed over many years. The point that I am arguing is the fact that many people do not know where the trumpet has come from and how it has affected society.
When learning and adapting, young children have curious minds leading new discoveries based on their capabilities. We introduce new motives to children in order for them to grow and develop. Some may introduce sports; others may introduce math or science. Some maybe even a music instrument or some paint. The Arts plays an important role in a child’s expression, creativity, and academic achievement. Primarily in elementary and middle school it’s important for young kids to be exposed to an extracurricular that helps set basic foundations of learning before they reach high school and college.
The beautiful sound of piano music has captured the hearts of people since the early eighteenth century. Since then, many musicians have dedicated their lives to this instrument. Some players even play piano so well that it may seem that this instrument is easy to play. However, to be able to play the piano well isn’t easy; it takes a lot of skill. To become a good piano player, one must love music very much, have good finger techniques, and body flexibility.
The Cohen research project established that the treatment group had improved health after 1 year, and the control group stated their health not good after the year (Flood & Phillips, 2007). The control group re-counted a norm of 9 physician visits per year while the control group conveyed 13 visits in 1 year. The control group had more falls in 1 year, and treatment group conveyed less falls in 1 year afterwards (Flood & Phillips, 2007). Medication consumption surged at a bigger ratio in the control group, in comparison to the treatment group; furthermore, psychological health was positively impacted by the intermediation (Flood & Phillips, 2007). The aftermath of partaking in a music arts platform has an extensive beneficial health
Some people sing just simply for the pleasure of it. Some people sing to develop some type of purpose in their life. Some people sing to escape reality even for just a moment. Some people sing to relieve the emotional pain attached to their world . But regardless of who you are, we all sing to express ourselves as individuals.
