At my co-op placement, I have a few duties or a specific role that I had to fulfill during the time I worked there. The particular role given to me was to be a “bus girl”, a term used for an individual that has the duty of clearing the tables and also setting it up again. However, I was also in charge of the cleaning aspect, organizing as well as re-stocking. Whether it may be sugar, ketchup, salt, pepper, toilet paper, tissue paper and more that we run out of. I am in charge of being aware of when a certain item is running out and changing it as to where everything is good as new, and we are set for another day of business. Washing the dishes is also an important duty as we run out of eating utensils so fast on a busy day. When I have the time, I do roll-ups. Often times, the server is busy dealing with other customers. So, I took it upon myself to welcome the customers by greeting them good morning, sitting them down according to the number of customers or their preferred seats if available, then take their drink orders to get them started and settled down while they wait for the server to take their order. Then, there are less important duties that I do when it is not so busy such as sanitize down areas, …show more content…
To commence, a receptive mentality has to do with always being ready to learn about new things with an open mind. When criticized about a certain action you’ve done such as packing food wrong the wrong way or using the wrong chemicals to wipe down areas that food came in contact with, it is important to not take the comments personally. In the real world, you will be told that you are doing things wrong multiple times and it takes a mature and positive mindset to take it as a learning experience to become a better worker. With this mentality, it will become easier to adapt to any work environment without creating any
One of the assignments he thinks that he will enjoy the most is working as a member of the core committee which organizes and runs the yearly community festival for the neighborhood. Because of his experience with community events, Mark has been placed in charge of logistics coordination, planning, security, and public safety. While this appears to be an extensive workload, Mark has a great deal of previous experience and understands the tasks that need to be completed. Because the planning for the festival started a year in advance, he knows that as the festival grows closer there will be additional volunteers to assist him, so he will not be individually responsible for each one of these areas; for now, the workload is sufficient for one person.

Greeting and assisting customers to ensure they come in and out quickly is all they can do.
My responsibilities include bagging items, ensuring customer satisfaction and keeping up with everyday store sanitation duties. The core responsibilities my title encompasses however, transcend my regular call of duty. Working at Giant has introduced me to the importance of team-work in a business environment which I have learned is a vital skill necessary to be productive in any professional setting. For that reason I appreciate the fact that my role at Giant not only allows me to gain valuable work experience, but also training in the facets of synergy.
About two weeks into the semester, each of the six groups was assigned roles and responsibilities for the rest of the semester. My group was chosen to become the hospitality group. Our responsibilities included cleanliness in the classroom, collecting money for food, and bring food to class each week following the theme’s we set for them. Within our group, we also delegated roles to each member to ensure our task was
People start learning from birth and there are many factors that affect it. For example attitudes affect an individual way of learning and handling. In the work environment it will be good and positive when the individual is dealing positively with his colleagues and the tasks required from him to do and this will have a good impact on his ability to learn and production. And when the individual deal negatively in the work environment, this negative impact on the work and deals with his environment and be an obstacle
ailure is scary for many people. By changing your fixed mindset to growth mindset we can reduce the fear of failure by beginning to see it more as an opportunity to learn and grow. Everybody makes mistakes but the real question is how do you respond and recover. Approaching challenging situations with a growth mindset makes all the difference. Criticism plays a huge role in the mind of the fixed mindset. Ever since you were small, someone has been telling you what you can't do. Your mother told you that you couldn't eat dessert until you finished dinner, your father told you that you couldn't sit too close to the TV, and your teachers told you that you couldn't run in the hallway. During life, there will be hundreds of people who not only tell
Tasks and responsibilities: Manage associates, make sure customers are taken care of, manage sales and inventory, and make sure to keep a clean food safety department.
There is a common preconceived notion coming into a summer co-op position, and that is that you will be a small fish in a big pond. In my specific position it was actually the opposite. I was a rather large player with many key roles within a smaller organization. I was able to both qualitatively and quantitatively measure my overall impact on the organization through the results of specific projects. With many of the tasks I was given, my work was directly positively correlated to the success or failure of the project. The position gave my both the power and independence required to develop a sense of comfort in the industry. Prior to this position I would never have felt qualified to properly function in a business environment, however
ALWAYS aknowledge the customer when they are in your sight. Even when they are not approaching the cashier window. Ask them if they have been helped, say hello, or is there something I can help you with.
Greet customers in a friendly respectable manner, while scanning items and counting the appropriate amount of money, clean up our station when there are no customers, never be idle. At the end of the day I would take my register tray out and count out the amount of money I have made for the day and fill out a form to note how much and take a certain amount out and place it in a bank vault to keep it safe until pick up, while counting the money I would make a receipt how much exactly was in the register and refill the change for the next person who uses that tray and lock the tray in a cubby and give the key to the person at the head of the desk.
The author of The New Psychology of Success, Carol Dweck believes people with 'fixed mindsets' are limited by what they think their innate abilities are. As a result, they are reluctant to take on challenges. However, people with what Carol Dweck calls 'growth mindsets' believe that they can learn, change, and develop needed skills. They are better equipped to handle setbacks, and know that hard work can help them accomplish their goals. In order to have a growth mindset you must believe you have free
For example, he might explain procedures for routing mail and requesting supplies in the office. He also delegates tasks to efficiently manage administrative operations, giving appropriate clerical tasks and instructions to filing clerks, typists or receptionists in the same office.
In this torrent of new experiences humans identify patterns and codify the knowledge until it is in their mastery, often a difficult achievement. This could be taken as a bad thing, but humans love challenge and relish it; however, sometimes people get too overwhelmed. Therefore, it is often necessary to seek help; when one person has knowledge a person in need doesn't, the one with knowledge can help by explaining the information (the basis of education). The drive to master challenges makes people flexible and efficient when they are overwhelmed; leading to the natural human ability to adapt. In a new situation, filled with unknown variables and new feelings, adaptation is a necessity; people are really good at this and the more people do it, the better they get at it. They gain this knowledge on how to adapt by learning from their mistakes and successes. This makes a person better at solving everyday problems and overall, making them more contributive to society by solving other people's problems and tackling even bigger issues that effect everyone. This knowledge also can be observed by others so the methodology
