Three reasons I have made getting a college degree one of my goals in life are to be the first generation to go to college, to further my education, and to have something positive going for me. In my first paragraph I'm going to talk about being the first in my generation to go to college and inspire my family members who will come after me. In my second paragraph I will be talking about going to college to further my education and make something of myself. In my last paragraph I will be talking about the positive things I hope to accomplish.
I would like to be the first in my generation to go to college and finish. Many people in my family have went to college but most never finished, some people had degrees and never got a job with it. I
I have decided on what I wanted to do with college since I was a child. It sounds ridiculous, but I am passionate about what I want to do. I was inspired at a very young age since I was in third grade, and I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. A teacher for what grade is what I did not know. As my family grew bigger with my nephews and nieces, I realized that I wanted to be surrounded by kids. I put what I wanted with my passion and got major. My intended major is to receive a double major in Primary and Elementary education, my goal is to receive a Masters in at least one of these majors.
Going into college, I would like to peruse many of my goals. I would like to start out getting my general studies in and then build up to become a Registered Nurse. After I accomplish becoming a Registered Nurse I would like to work on becoming a Nurse Practitioner. One reason I am striving to complete these goals is to be able to have a good future and hopefully a good job will come out of this. Neither of my parents went to college and I want to be able to accomplish that for myself.
Ever since I was young, I was exposed to a Historically Black College or University, Jackson State University. I had always went to activities and functions such as football games, summer programs, and other special events. I did not know whether I would attend a historically Black College or University (HBCU) or not at the time. I had finally decided to go to a HBCU, and I would attend Tougaloo College in the fall to further my education. I have many goals and objectives for pursing my educational experience at a historically Black College, and I plan to achieve them.
When I was 5 my life changed completely. My sister and I were abandoned by our mother and father. I was then raised by my aunt and uncle along with my grandparents. I was taken in and loved as if I was their own. I want to show them and myself that no matter what happens in life that I can succeed and accomplish anything I set my mind to. Therefore, I am pursuing an Associates degree and the first generation in my family to go to college first generation in my family to go to college.
Describe your background and life experiences to include any challenges or successes. Explain how these experiences prompted you to pursue a higher education. My life experiences include me trying to pursue and continue my education to the furthest extent possible. To be able to get my dream job which is to be a wildlife rehabilitator is one of the reasons for me to be continuing my education after high school. I've just been focused on school no matter what issue comes my way because education is my first priority.
Being what could be the first one in my family going to college makes me proud of myself and makes me push harder. Having large life goals is something hard to accomplish but not something impossible to do. Starting now with my life goals is going to be easier than if i wait until later on.
College is very different than high school. So many challenging homework and courses to participate in. That is why my three goals for my career are as follows: I want to receive my college diploma, get a better career path, and learn some new things. There are many things I have to do in order to achieve these goals. With hard work and dedication, I am ver confident I can do this.
Most of my adult life, I have wanted to do well in life, make the right decisions, and follow the right path. As for college, I was worried I was not capable of completing it. Watching my children grow has changed my way of thinking. Now, I want to do well for them. I’m determined to see my children complete college. It’s difficult for me to have these expectations of my children, if I haven’t completed college myself. I want to show them that it is not an impossible dream.
By the time I got to middle school, I realized the importance of education because of this I dreamt of going to college, therefore I took my grades seriously throughout the rest of my academic career – just flowing with life and not really thinking more in detail about it. Now that I am in college, I wonder what other goals and achievements do I want to
What motivates me most to pursue a college degree is opening new doors for career options and inspiring my daughter through my own actions to pursue lifelong learning. I have waited until this point in my life to take this first step for many reasons. I feel that I had a lot of fear of failure that kept me from pursuing this higher learning. I am in the right place mentally at this stage in my life and feel like I can fully invest in this experience and make it truly a success and representation of what I can do. I am also highly motivated by the fact that my career is truly stalled because I am not competition for someone that has equal experience and a degree. I plan to conquer that competition through this process.
I set a goal to further my education by enrolling in college before I turned twenty five. I was on call 24 hours a day as tow truck driver at the time not leaving me time to meet the time frame of that goal. I did not completely give up on that goal and have currently met it. The reason I was eventually able to reach this goal is my unwillingness to give up on the things that are important to me. Even if things don’t go exactly how you plan you should not give up on
Coming into college I had my eyes set on the prize. It may not be as easy as I would like it to be to reach it but I know I can do it. Four years from now I would love to be hearing my name being called from the podium to receive my bachelors degree in nursing. Then in the morning hearing my alarm go off at 5 am to make my first shift at the hospital. To some students this may sound like agony and they might be dreading the works hours but to me I know this is exactly where I would want to be in my life and it all starts here in college at this moment.
My academic goal is to graduate Argosy University with a bachelors degree in Forensic Psychology in three years time. Forensic Psychology is the study of the criminal mind, in a nutshell. The main motivation to achieve this goal would be intrinsic. I love asking questions and knowing the answers as to why people do what they do, and in a criminals case, what led them to committing the crime. This goal, however, may have some extrinsic motivation as well. Being knowledgeable about certain behaviors that criminals poses may help solve or even prevent a crime. In addition, having a degree will help open different paths in life, ones that may present me with greater job opportunities. My attitude toward the learning process will help my achievement of each goal because I am eager, determined and motivated. My greatest desire is to succeed in life, and obtaining an education is one thing I know will help me. I perhaps will need to make some adjustments along my journey. I do not know yet if I will find another educational path that intrigues me the most. For now, I do not feel that any adjustments need to be made.
Going to college has been a dream of mine growing up. I am the first ever in my family to go to college but figuring out how to pay for it has been a challenge. I desire to achieve my academic and career goals and this scholarship can help me succeed in my journey.
Above all, my personal goals are to learn as much as I can and make my family and myself proud of what I’ve accomplished. I’ve realized that college is a great opportunity to further my education and I want to take advantage of that by taking in as much knowledge as possible. The reason for this goal is to know that I did the very best I could when I graduate college. Not only will that make me proud but it will make my family proud too. Staying motivated, focused, and determined is going to be the key to
