Every community or race has their origin. It has become a norm for people to move from one place to another in search of better jobs, education and among other things. In the recent past, migration has been caused by political instability. Consequently, this made people flee from their countries in search of peace and tranquility. In this essay, I am going to discuss my origin and history of my community.
First and foremost, I grew up in South West Saudi Arabia in a family of nine with four brothers and three sisters. My father was the sole breadwinner of the family as he used to work for the government. Due to the nature of the job and the place where he used to work, my father used to commute weekly from our city to Jeddah west coast of the country where he worked. This was quite a distance

It has some of the biggest oil reserves in the world. The discovery of oil 1936 was a major boost to the economy of Saudi Arabia (Hempton, 1987). The commercial production of oil began during the Second World War. This commercial production of oil in Saudi Arabia enabled the government to provide free healthcare and education to the people without them paying the taxes to the government.
Saudi remained neutral during the Second World War, and it was welcomed to be a charter member of the United Nations. In 1945, the country joined Arab League and took part in the war against Israel from 1948 to 1949. Till today many scholars believe Saudi does not recognize the State of Israel. Ibn Saudi died in 1953, and his son took over from him in an 11-year reign. His reign was marked by the hostility towards the Gamal Abdel Nasser. Saud was replaced by the Prime Minister, Crown Prince Faisal in 1964 due to his ailing condition. The prime minister is widely recognized for giving the vocal support to Egypt with no military help to Egypt during the Arab-Israel war of 1967 (Hempton,
Currently Saudi Arabia is one of the leading producers of oil in the world. However, it is losing its foothold on the market. Many countries, like North America, are increasing their oil production and are looking for ways to become less dependent on foreign oil. The increased competition has caused oil prices to decrease. By producing their own oil, countries not only will increase their revenues, but will also reduce their need to rely on foreign oil. By reducing their need foreign an oil a country does not have to worry that their oil supply will be cut off if they go to war.
The 1948 War set the stage for long-term conflict in the Middle East, because even after Israel defeated Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon, the surrounding Arab
Now, most of the people decide to go to college or university after graduates from high school. College major is the compass for a student in future. The major is variable in a lot of fields; everyone should pick at least one. I realized I chose biology as my specific major is a good advance for me later. I want to follow my passion for the medical field; I feel interested in learning more about science; it will support me well in the future.

The largest world supplier oil company is Saudi Aramco. It is the most profitable company on the earth. Since it is the most powerful oil company, it has a great impact on the world economy. As a result, a strong international relationship was built with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In addition, the strong developing of international relationship with other industrial countries resulted in massive contributions to the politics, economy, and many different aspects. In 1933, Saudi government bestowed oil concession to California Arabian Standard Oil Company (Chevron). The main factor for this grant was to explore the oil in the eastern region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. After discovering a huge amount of oil, part of the
During the summer between my sophomore and junior years, I was one of four students selected to represent my school and council at the National Josten’s Renaissance conference in Orlando Florida. My fellow students and I learned a great deal about other schools around the country and we wanted to take some ideas back to our school to implement them. One of our key ideas focused on recognizing various students at our high school that constantly achieve remarkable feats, but largely go unnoticed by the school as a whole. Being vice president of my class, I took charge of this initiative and designed a solution to the problem. I advocated that we replace our typical, mundane, class meetings with class rallies, a pep rally type atmosphere for more
Developing strong interpersonal skills has been an important subject for me since middle school. Coming into high school, I was a very shy, insecure girl who only had about one or two friends. As a freshman, I felt that it was time for me to break out of my shell if I wanted to get anywhere in life. I firmly believe that joining the Kempner High School Student Council has been the most positive influence on my life. Considering my lifetime goals, overcoming my fear of communicating with new people was something that needed to happen.
In Feezell (2015) investigated what role intercollegiate athletics play in higher education. His study looked at the educational, economical, and community-building aspect of intercollegiate athletics. The Education Argument insisted athletics does contribute to the educational mission of the university, since athletes learn valuable things like responsibility, teamwork, leadership, time management, and competitiveness when they participate in college sports (Feezell, 2015). This argument supported the previous study by Brand (2006) who stated the integrated view of intercollegiate athletics should look at the educational component of athletics. However, Feezell (2015) argued that education is character building and not academic building. French
The three most effective intervention tools I would suggest to effectively intervene with the veteran population are cognitive behavioral therapy and narrative therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a form of psychotherapy that seeks to change the way a person behaves or thinks in order to promote positive feelings or actions using a goal-oriented approach. Cognitive behavioral therapy draws on theories of learning and memory as well as the cognitive model. The cognitive model “proposes that distorted or dysfunctional thinking underlies all psychological disturbances. Furthermore, dysfunctional thinking has an important effect on our mood and behavior,” (Ledley, 2010). In order to adapt CBT techniques to the veteran population, seek a deeper understanding of the client’s background and how their time in the military may have caused distorted thinking that may lead to maladaptive behaviors. I would also ask the client for their own input in regards to their needs and issues they face. I would then create a framework by which I could create a treatment plan to
For individuals to “serve the common good” it is essential to put others before themselves. Individuals need to be selfless and look at their actions as they relate to the well-being of those around them. In business, it is necessary for the employees to think of the company as a whole instead of individually. If this were to be achieved, then the world would no longer face issues such as poverty and homelessness. Individuals need to learn how to be empathetic and this will translate into the business world. Currently, the world of business is strict, unforgiving, and selfish, and this is not conducive to a healthy world population. If this were to change then the common good would be CONCLUSION SENTENCE.
Because I am a busy single mother raising three boys, going to school, and maintaining a job, finding any extra time to volunteer is no easy task. However, this summer I managed to squeeze it in. The organization that I volunteered for from May through July is the Ashwaubenon Department of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry. More specifically, I volunteered as a coach for AYSA (Ashwaubenon Youth Soccer Association), for the 4 & 5 age level.
For this part of the project, I decided to interview a person who has personally experienced the effects of migration in search for a better life. This is only a story from countless individuals who share the same but unique and
I always thought my chilhood would affect my future. I was born into poverty. My mother was a foster child and lived with her foster parents. My Father was attending college at the University of Akron and lived on Campus. My dad was very well driven and outspoken, but what I didn't know is that my father would be the reason why im the person I am today.
Initially, Saudi Arabia was largely a subsistence economy, gaining its revenues from subsistence agriculture and sale of natural resources. The Saudi population was highly dependent on subsistence farming and was very poor, given that climatic conditions in Saudi Arabia are not favourable for food production. However, the situation drastically changed when oil was first discovered in 1930 's. Although a highly sought after commodity, oil prices were
In the heart of the Middle East is a country known by many Westerners for its oil production and, often, extremist beliefs of groups within the country. The country is Saudi Arabia, and though it is thought of by many as a rather backward country, Saudi Arabia has a rich history and culture, and it is a country that revolves around Islam and the worship of Allah as the one true God.
