The most impactful event of my life occurred near the end of my 8th grade year. My sister and I attended a middle school that was at the top of the hill in our town. Since, we lived only a short distance from the bottom of the hill, we decided we would just walk home everyday instead of riding the bus. I had done a fair amount of hiking and backpacking before this point, which led to me thinking that paved roads were boring. I soon learned that by cutting across the hillside we could get home faster and it would be more enjoyable. The “trail” I ultimately decided to use was not by any means safe. Furthermore, it would only get worse. Apparently, the trail was controlled by a group of boys that were very territorial about “their” trail. A …show more content…
After their threats failed, the traps began appearing on the trail. Someone was untying the ropes from their previous anchors and instead weakening the knot or hiding them in brushes to give the appearance of being functional. This nearly led to a joyless plummet down the hillside that would undoubtedly have ended in serious injury. Luckily, for the most part, I am a cautious person and did not immediately trust the ropes with my full body weight. Furthermore, sections of the trail semi-required you to run in order to keep for footing and balance while traversing them. The boys began constructing makeshift barricades across the trail in hopes of making us lose our footing, trip, and fall down one of the steeper parts of the trail. After a day or two of this, I should have realized the situation was dangerous. However, I seriously underestimated the will of the opposing group and thought being defiant and ignoring them was the best path of action. I did not inform any authorities of the situation or my parents. No authorities because I misjudged the situation and no parents because they would not have approved of the trail were it sans
An experience that really changed my life was when my grandfather was on the verge of death in the hospital. I remember seeing my family crying and my heart ached. I visited him every day and came home to study for my exams. I would sleep late every night to study and cry. In that moment, I realized how precious life was and how much of an impact we as individuals have other people. Ever since, I have tried to enjoy every single moment of life, whether a simple walk to school or spending time with my family.
The single life-altering event that has happened to me was entering a long-term relationship. Many often wonder how their life has changed when they add another person to it, but for myself, it impacted my life in a very big way. I used to rarely do activities with friends, as I would mostly do activities by myself. I was always okay with being alone, however, when I met my boyfriend everything changed. We started spending every waking minute with each other and doing activities that we equally liked doing. It became more of a partnership than anything. This changed my leisure pattern because now I rely on my partner and what he is doing, as well as plan any and all my activities with him. We take into account each of our similarities
There has been a lot of important and influential moments in my life that have shaped me into the person that I am, but only one takes the cake. The one most influential moment of my life was finding what I am truly passionate about. The fact that I knew what I wanted to do so early in my life was amazing because from there I knew that everything could then fall right into place. I was in Sophomore year when I realized that I had a knack for computers. I loved everything about computers from the hardware to the software end of things. I had to do a paper in Consumer Chemistry about something on the topic of computers and it was so intriguing that I began to do more research on the topic. I have tallied countless hours trying to understand how
I've experienced a lot of events which had great impact on me since I was young. Thinking of life changing events, the one I would like to share is when I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. It was a very devastating day for me. A day that changed my life. I never thought Id get through but today I can say that Diabetes has changed me for the better.
Have you ever been forced to leave and explore the world? Well that's relatable, it's the only option left for the immigrants trying to blaze a trail to travel on safety. But people don't wanna risk getting hurt or trespassing into someone's land.

So if you don’t know or have already have knowledge on this here some more for you to get a hold of in the next couple of paragraphs. Early cattle drives headed west to the California gold fields after 1850, when cattle worth $5 to $10 a head in Texas would garner five to 20 times that amount in San Francisco. Most drives to California took five or six months. Some ranchers held contracts to supply beef to frontier forts and to Indian reservations in West Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico beginning in the late 1850s. Cattle ranching virtually halted during the Civil War years, as the frontier retreated. Beginning in 1866, however, ranching and cattle trailing expanded rapidly. Cattle drives to northern and western markets, and later to railroad-loading facilities, started in earnest in 1866, when an estimated 260,000 head of cattle crossed the
Everyone has an event in their life that helped changed them in some way or stood out to them in some type of way in their life. Rather if it is, something like a birth of a child, a death of a family member or even receiving a job. A significant event in my life and helped me grow as a person was when I decided to pack up and move to Houston, Texas. My move to Texas may have been short but in that short period it helped me to grow to be more independent and to provide for myself and much more. When I made the moved to Texas, I moved with family members that I knew but I was not close with it.
My stomach twisted and scrunched up into knots after gazing up at the structure. The dreaded day had finally come: the day that I would conquer the high ropes course at summer camp. As a fourteen-year old girl who was frightened by heights of any kind, strapping on a harness and climbing up a bunch of shaky poles and shivering wires was definitely the last thing I wanted to do. Nonetheless, peer pressure got the best of me, so in order to satisfy my friends and to avoid being teased, I made the decision that I would climb up the ropes course no matter how much the voice in my head screamed at me to stop.
The Oregon trail was the trail to a new life. The best time the pioneers chose to leave was April to May, because if you left too early, there could still be some very bad weather storms, and not enough grass for the ox, but if you leave too late you could not get to Oregon before snowfall. If you wanted to go further west the Oregon trail was your only practical way to get there. This trail traveled over 2,170 miles say’s www.wikipedia.com. According to www.History.com most of the pioneers chose to settle before they got to Oregon. Many people think that Indians were the number 1 cause of people's death. But they weren't they actually were very helpful. They would trade with the pioneers, and help them cross rivers say’s

The most important event in my life was the Lewis and Clark expedition. I had been recruited by my friend, Meriwether Lewis, to embark on this expedition to explore the territory of the Louisiana
I would not consider this place a very special place, but I do like to go there sometimes. It is a
An accident last year changed my attitude towards life . That accident had a great impact on me , it taught me to treasure what i have and to treasure those people around me more . Although the accident was not life threatening , it was still the scariest thing i had ever been through in life . It was an accident that no one would have expected and wanted it to happen .
Everyone has that one experience that makes them look at life with a new set of eyes. My life changing experience happened a little earlier than most. It was the summer before first grade. We had gotten an exceptional amount of rain in the past months even though it was summer. I did not notice, though, because summer was every six year old's favorite holiday, next to Christmas and their birthday. My summer was supposed to be like any other but it quickly took a turn. For the best or for the worst? That is debatable.
