Everyone always says how everything changes in high school. You’re treated with more responsibility and more homework, just more of everything. There is a big transition from junior high to high school. The thought of entering high school for me was exciting and scary all at once. The fact that I’ll be with all of the big kids was pretty scary and being in high school and being a part of it was exciting. My first day of high school, I was pretty nervous and intimidated and kind of excited. I was nervous because I didn’t know how it would be and how it would turn out. I was excited for athletics, but I mean what boy wasn’t? It was football season and we had 4 days until our first high school game. The first day went okay, I guess, I was just glad I made it out alive.
After the first two to three days the nervousness was pretty much gone. After that it was pretty fun. We had so much more freedom in high school compared to junior high. For example, after we were done with our lunch we could leave the cafeteria and go sit in the commons area and we can play with our phones. In junior high we would eat and when we were done, we had to wait for the teachers to walk us back down to the school, and plus there was no playing on our phones when we were done. We had to sit there and be still and talk quietly. There was a big difference between junior high and high school.
One of the scariest days of freshman year was on October 23, 2015. It was Beckville against the Shelbyville
High school is always considered some of the best years of life. Students live with their families, see their friends almost everyday, and participate in the activities they love with the people they love. It has enough freedom for the student to decide how hard they will try, but it also has just the right amount of restrictions that parents can step in to make the student work. High school also gives students many opportunities to succeed and keep letting them try again if they fail. For example, a math teacher may allow a student to retake two test throughout a semester, but if the student proves that they are trying in the class then the teacher may allow them to retake a few more tests. Also, schoolwork is not tedious or lengthy,
From happy moments to sad moments, from having the best time to falling asleep in class. Middle school was also a place for change. As Robin Sharma once stated, “Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end.” High school will definitely bring many changes in our lives. At first, everything may be difficult but, as each year goes by you will quickly realize that you are capable of handling it because, you know at the end of the day everything will be
The first day of school as a freshman I was excited and nervous to go. Last year in eighth grade we were the big dogs in the school and now we are back to being the little newbies. I was thinking how will I find my classes, my locker, the office, where do I sit at lunch and will I make new friends. As for the seniors first day, I’ll be excited we are the big dogs in the school again. We already know where our classes are, who our teachers are, we are very calm about being back and excited to start their last year of high
Going from a middle school to high school pretty much for anybody can tend to be challenging. High school is the place where you start to mature yourself and better yourself for later on in life for whatever the future may bring. Coming from 8th grade entering into high school as a freshman depending on where you're at can be tough, you really start to realize that you are starting to have responsibilities. You may not start feeling that way in the beginning which in my case I could say the same, but it definitely comes. Converting as an 8th grader to high school you notice the teachers don't baby you in situations if it's your work or your project it's your job to know what's going on the teachers definitely won't look for you.
You get to wake up earlier and do less work. Next year I probably will be wishing the same thing, but to be in middle school. I am excited for highschool next year, but also nervous. I am petrified of getting lost or walking into the wrong classroom. Many of my freshman friends tell me they love highschool.
Junior year was full of many new experiences. We were now classified as upper classmen! Just like any of the other years in high school this year had just as many ups and downs. One of the main stresses in eleventh grade was the SAT. For sure one of the scariest things that I have ever had to do. All of the preparation going into it and the amount of studying made me feel as if I wasn’t going to have a brain by the time the testing was over. I took college and career readiness, which really helped prepare me for what was to come. By this time in high school I had already had my job for a little over a month, so I already knew what to expect once school started. I am thankful enough that at my job you get to leave at seven because I hear many
The first thing about me that changed the most is my maturity level. Obviously as you get older you are going to mature, but there is definitely a big change from being in 5th grade to being in 6th grade. There is no recess or staying put in a single classroom all day. It takes a certain maturity level to be able to handle moving from class to class and dealing with all the teachers. Another thing about getting older is growing. You don’t want to send an eleven year old off to high school with a bunch of teenagers. Middle school has also helped me prepare for high school because of many things. Changing classes, having lunch with other grades, and being able to take classes that I actually want to take are just a few. Maturity of course goes hand in hand with responsibility, another thing these past few years have taught me.
My high school experience was overall a mixture of being scared and growing to become who I am today. When I was in my first years of high school, it was just high school nothing more. I had seen teachers as teachers and friends as friends. I just
Junior High is a scary thought. You are little and going to school with the big kids. It wasn’t to bad after I got used to it.
My first day being a Freshmen was by far the hardest day of my life. I went to Mississinewa! I didn’t know any of my teachers, and I didn’t have any classes with my friends. I remember having gym class with a lot of boys and I hated it, because it was all juniors and senior boys. At the end of my freshman year I actually ended up moving to Marion High school.
Coming from being a junior in high school to now being a senior. Senior in high school is going to be one of the most favorite and scariest parts of my life. Everyone says that it is one of the biggest part of your life. They say senior year will be one of my favorite memories. My expectations for high school amounts to worrying about deadlines for my high school projects, everyone asking about where I will be attending college, and trying to figure out what I am going to do with the rest of my life.
The transition from middle school to high school was not an easy one and it was quickly apparent to me when I received my freshman year schedule. Even though middle school slightly
Things was completely different but the same. The work was harder and different from the work I had in middle school even the teachers I had was also different as well. My transition going into high school was different. It happened to be a different type of scenery and I didn’t expect for that to happen to me at that time. Being a freshman opened up a whole different world for me that I wasn’t really ready for. Going into highschool, I had friends I thought I would be friends with for my entire life. As soon as I got to high school things started to change. On top of the friends I had I also made new friends as well. When I was a freshman I had to look up to the upperclassmen to guide me and to lead me by example. When I was a freshman, it meant I had to be on my P’s and Q’s. I felt a lot of pressure when I was a freshman especially from teachers. Fitting in while I was a freshman wasn’t a good start for me because I wasn’t really involved into any school activities or
I remember being an anxious eighth grader thinking about starting my freshman year of high school. We went from being at the top of the school to being at the bottom of a new one. All of our middle school teachers always told us about how our high school teachers wont “hold our hands” and how we will be on our own. Being in high school is completely different than being in elementary school and middle school. Its almost like each year we have more and more freedom but more responsibility.
(sound alarm) Don't you just love that sound. Ahhh the sound of school calling at 6 in the morning. When you start a new school or a new grade many emotions are most likely running through your head which stress' you out. But when you get to high school it's a whole new beginning and experience. The overall experience of high school is pretty neat if you asked me. The freedom is nice, although there is a lot of stress, the people in the hallway can be disturbing, and you make all new sorts of friends and enemy's.
