My Grit Book that I chose is “The Rescue” by Nicholas Sparks. This book caught my attention by the author. I wasn’t very good when it came to sticking to a reading schedule. I have never been very good a that. Or sticking to any plan in general. There was a lot of spots in my book that was referenced the Apache Way. This was so much going on in the book. I loved how intense the book was. I chose this book because I love Nicholas Sparks books. I have read a couple of his other books and watched all of the movies. I enjoy these books and movies because they possess romance and mystery in them. Those are my favorite kind of books. I had a passion for this book when I read the synopsis on the back of the book. I really gave me passion to read the book. …show more content…
That was a very broad timeframe, seeing how the book was 425 pages long. Some days I found myself not even touching the book. Other days, I found myself no putting it down. I read about 2 chapters a day in SSR. I have a really busy schedule so I had to find some time at home to just pick up my book and read. Even if it was midnight. There were even nights were I just was so tired and I knew that If i were to read I wouldn’t be able to process what I read. In my book I found multiple types of Apaches Way. One example would be in the beginning of my book. When Kyle, a 4 year old boy with a speech disability, and Denise, Kyle’s mother who is struggling with a job and teaching Kyle, get in a car wreck coming home from a doctor’s appointment. Kyle was not injured and ran away from the wrecked car. The whole town showed responsibility and came to help find the boy who had ran
I really enjoyed the book because I love reading very interesting and right at the
I loved this book so much. There is so much action and is so much better and exciting with so much amazing detail and description. This is one of my favorite books ever. When you read it, you don’t want to put it down and it makes you feel like you are with the characters in the book and you know them so well. I recommend this book to anyone who can read at this level.
I was not really into reading at the time, but I remember that my teacher made us read for at least fifteen minutes at the beginning of every class. If we did not have a book there were many books from her library to choose from. I believe this was one of the first books that I read in her class, and think I chose this book in particular because it stood out. I mean the title itself already piqued my interest. I honestly did not think that I was going to enjoy it as much as I did, It was such a bizarre read with all the strange events and abnormal characters. And in a weird way, the strangeness of the story was what I really liked. I do not think I would have liked it as much if it was not for that. It was one of the first chapter books that I did not have to force myself to finish. This was also one of the first books I read that really got me into loving to read. I just loved getting lost in another world and I wanted to keep reading books that did that for me.
There are multiple reasons why I enjoyed this book considering it had a good storyline and a theme everyone can relate to. It had a lot of details ,and it was very funny. Another reason why I liked this book was because the book had a good mix of good things and bad things throughout the story. I liked how the author used
I chose this book because it was recommended from people. I read the book of the book, and it seemed interesting and dramatic. I like dramatic books because it makes events more interesting and it would motivate me to keep reading the book.
I started reading the book Ashfall because it seemed like it would have been a good book about survival. I love reading book that makes me want to read more. Just by reading the summary of the book Ashfall I was wanting more.
It captured my attention from the beginning. I like how the Rand was descriptive words to help me have an image of what was happening in the novel. I like the story line. I like the idea of someone breaking way from everyone else and being different from others. That they are able to think for themselves and that it is ok to be different from others. I also liked how the novel had some romance because I do enjoy romance novels. The Language Police written by Diane Ravitch, I did not quit enjoy the book. I do not really like books like that. I do not recommend this book if you are not interested in how the bias panel chooses stories for children. I do recommend the novel, Anthem. It gives the reader a sense of individualism, there is a story behind
I was able to focus on reading, but I kept reading the same things more than once. It took me much longer than it should have to read the narrative. I eventually was able to relate to the writer.
What made me choose this book was the title. Looking at the title and reading the back of the book it just seems like something I can relate to. Grewing up the way that I did and seeing the thing that I have I felt like this could be a good book for me. The subject of the book is also something that I would like to learn more about. This being a non fiction book I seen a perfect chance to do actually that. What really made me choose this book was my interest in the title.
Hi, I'm Joelle, and I am an 8th grade student at Wilmette Junior High School. I decided to read Paul Kalanithi's book because I like to read books about other people because it seems more real, and it is an actual person not a made up story.
This book really grabs the attention because there is a lot of imagery, irony and symbols, which makes the book really entertaining because the characters are well developed and
There were a number of reasons that I liked the book. I thought it was an interesting and a fun angle of the story to include the real person, Alfred Hitchcock, who was a famous movie director. I can’t think of any other fiction books that include a famous person as one of the main characters. I liked that the book was fast paced and there was always something going on or about to happen, there were lots of twists to the story. I found myself always trying to guess where the story would go
That makes four of us because I am guilty of falling asleep as well. The first week was very hard. I even question myself; how was I going to be able to complete the assignments; when I could not even read the material. Then I realize that reading at night time was not an option for me. I read during my lunch break and short breaks at work. I had to be real to my situation and the needs of my family, my body and soul. After a long day of work and getting home to deal with the kids dinner, homework and anything else that comes up; it is almost impossible to expect me to be able to read and not fall asleep. It is now the third week and I am confident that I will continue to get better at it. Reading at work is really helping,
I chose the book Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs for my IR summative because I thought a book the includes action, fantasy, and drama is very exciting. This whole book was filled with action from the beginning to all the way to the end so people who like action would love this book a lot. Fantasy combined with the action making the story a little bit more dramatic and most of the characters had some sort of ability such as healing wounds using their own body, controlling fire, or being able to fly. Drama added the story reality making the whole story seem more realistic such as family issues, romance, and blood related enemies.
As for my experience as a reader. I really don’t have too many fond memories that were important to my life as a reader. Not to say I didn’t grow or learn anything from reading. I just had a huge lack of interest and didn’t pay much attention to it. I didn’t hate reading, but I definitely didn’t like it either. It was just there and I personally never found any enjoyment out of reading a book or a novel like others would. That same lack of interest kind of caused me to stay away from reading for most of the time, but despite that and my very few experiences I still remember my most memorable moment as a reader. Way back in the 7th grade when we read “The Outsiders” by S. E. Hilton. If I remember correctly it took us a total of two full weeks
