My Personal Challenges : My Strengths Of Personality

After completing the Myers Briggs personality test online, I discovered that my personality type is known as the ‘Defender.’ My personality type is introverted, meaning I enjoy doing activities on my own, and too much social interaction can become exhausting for me. I am fairly observant as opposed to intuitive, meaning I am practical and down to earth, and I have strong habits. I am more of a feeling individual rather than thinking. As a ‘Defender’ I am sensitive, and I express my emotions; I am empathetic and not highly competitive. I am decisive, thorough, and organized, with high score in the judging category. I am not very assertive, but rather more turbulent, meaning I can be self conscious and sensitive to stress, success driven and eager to improve.

I agree with this, I confront my issues at hand. Organization is common in this paper, with it being in my personality assessment as well. I follow the rules, and attempt to reach my aspirations in a timely manner of doing so in a precise way. I am quite sociable, I have found this to be an excellent personality trait to have. By getting along with everyone in my surroundings, and being able to create conversations, this has positively impacted the choices I have made by others influences and opinions.

My current strengths according to the LifeStyle Management Health Risk Inventory, is that I am punctual in seeing a primary care provider, whom I have seen in the past two years, it was suggested that it is of vital importance to do so, as a PCP can provide helpful information about my health and how I can improve any health problems I may have. Another strength of mine is that I get the flu shot on a regular basis, it is important to do so, as the flu virus does not spread to those who I am around and protects me from the virus. My five strengths that strengthsquest gave me is Input, Connectedness, Relator, Futuristic, and Responsibility. Each of these strengths definitely describe me and how I look at my life. I have worked in retail and customer service for the past four years and I use each of my strengths while working with the customers.

Hello Classmates- The results of my assessment show that my personality type is an ISFJ, Introvered, Sensing, Feeling, Judging. So as in Introverter my main souce of energy is mainly in my own internal world. As a Sensor I believe information received directly from the external world. Feeling means that, I make decisions based on emotion. And Judging means that I organize my life and stick to a plan. Characterized above all by my desire to serve others, in a "need to be needed" way. I am often unappreciated, at work, at home, and play. I also prove over and over again that I can be relied on for loyalty and high quality work, but am also take for granted. Because of this I am horrible at delegate and would rather "do it myself if I want it done right." Although I might be treated like a doormat, I am unwilling to toot my own horn about my accomplishments because I feel that I believe credit is due, its somehow wrong to want some sort of acknowledgement or any sort of reward for doing my work.

After assessing my strengths and weaknesses from the self-assessment survey, I am not surprised by the results. Prior to this survey it has always been clear on my weaknesses and my strengths pursuing a career as a therapist. I am a very sensitive person, particularly when it comes to people being violated. Often when people are emotional around me, especially telling me something that they are going through, I tend to cry with them or get as emotional with them. I don’t know how I will be able to sit and talk with a person if they are telling me about being raped, kidnapped or beaten. I have well-developed people skills and excellent relationships, though possessing the Feeling (F) trait, having excellent analytical abilities; though Introverted (I), being the defender of others. Consequently, possessing this particular personality trait could be very beneficial as I will continue my career in the healthcare field. With my personality type being ISFP, I have learned that I am able to collect a large amount of information at one and that I am able to think before I speak. I would strongly agree with this personality type. I put other people’s feelings before my own. Another thing I have learned is that I should find a job where I am able to work with people and find a job were I will be able to make good use of my ability of being able to understand facts. My possible strengths would be to make being feel comfortable and valued.

I believe that advocates are created through the experiences one goes through. Being impacted by the horrors of domestic violence and raised by predominantly women I became a feminist. Witnesses the institutionalized racism, prejudice, and bullying towards low-income people, immigrants, and African Americans—I became a strong advocate for immigration reform and black empowerment. Living with a younger brother with autism empowered me to be a discerner of autism awareness. After taking the personality test survey and reading the analysis of my personality type, I have gotten a better understanding of my individuality by discovering my strengths, weaknesses, and how my personality can be of great influence on who and what and how I interact with others. My personality type based on the personality test survey resulted in me being an ISFP, also known as the Artist. ISFPs like myself, are considered to be introverted, sensing, feeling, and perceiving. We are quiet, reserved, and can be difficult get to know wholly. Yet, we are also go-getters and risk-takers. We live to find ways to push our passions as mentioned in the introduction reading the analysis.

This paper reviews the in-depth findings of my personality assessment by focusing on certain areas of my personality and how these findings correlate to workplace behavior and preference.
