One of my strengths would be my responsiveness to students’ individual needs. I understand that not every student is at the same level, and I try to do my best to check in with every student, and make sure that they are on the right track with their assignments. It is important to me to respect the dignity of each learner, while also challenging them and helping them to grow academically. On a ‘Get to know me’ questionnaire that I gave to each student, many students said that they did not feel comfortable speaking up in class. I had to find a way to incorporate oral speaking into my lessons because a part of the English nine B.C. curriculum is oral language speaking strategies. In order to prepare the grade nine students to read their poems out loud in front of the class, I scaffolded the reading process. I began the lesson by going over an oral speaking rubric, that I created to assess the poetry oral presentation, then I asked students to assess their peer’s poetry readings by telling them one thing they did well and one thing they could do improve upon, then students were given a few minutes to practice on their own, and then students presented to the class. Scaffolding the presentation process really helped to calm down the student’s nerves. I even had the principal come watch one block’s poetry presentations, and the students amazed their peers, the principal, and myself with their readings; this was definitely one of the highlights from my practicum experience.
As an undergraduate student at the University of New Mexico I have become increasingly aware of the complex network problems that I face as a citizen of the world. I have also realized the progress and success that I enjoy in the same capacity as the frontiers of medicine, technology and communication continue to expand. My desire to participate in the resolution of those problems and in the further expansion of those frontiers had inspired me to seek a degree in biology and entrance into a School of Dentistry. I intend to successfully complete program of dentistry and further my specialization in the area of endodontics. Upon completion of my
My strengths in dispositions that will contribute to your success as a professional educator is being empathetic. I believe it is important to establish a relationship with every student in the classroom. I know I need to positively communicate and understanding with my students and learn to accept the diverse points of view of my students. A strength in my disposition is that I believe every student has worth and the ability to complete each task. I have positive expectations of my students and believe that they have the potential to do anything they try to. It will contribute to my success as an educator because my students will not feel that they cannot complete a task due to me. Due to my self-concept and having a positive aspect on life,
Pursing a career as a medical doctor is an opportunity for me to mentor youth in underserved populations. As a child, I was raised in the low income, urban community of Roxbury, MA. Although not as notorious today, the neighborhood had garnered negative attention for its high crime rates. My mother emigrated from Haiti and raised me as a single parent. Due to our financial circumstance, Roxbury became our permanent residence. I have always felt there was something lacking in Roxbury in comparison to other towns I visited. My teenage years were largely spent in the suburban town of Stoneham where I attended high school. There was a literal difference in air quality and a psychology contrast in future prospects. While native students of
There are few certainties of what one will encounter during life. A common joke names two: death and
For all seventeen years of my life, I have grown up in a Christian home and attended a Seventh Day Adventist church and school. I believe that growing up in a Christian environment has provided me with the foundation of my spiritual life. I 've been taught fundamental aspects and ideas of Christianity and have studied most of the common stories and messages of the Bible. However, even though I am equipped with these study materials and spiritual strengths, I believe that my relationship with God is shaky and not as strong as it has the potential to be. Even though I can proudly acknowledge that there is a God, I often don 't feel His presence and sometimes doubt His existence. I always find myself questioning my spiritual life and relationship with God. If I 've grown up in a Christian environment all of my life, why do I not have a strong relationship with Him? Why is my faith so weak? I believe that the answers to these questions can be found by acknowledging my spiritual weaknesses and using my spiritual strengths to improve them. I believe that acting on some of my spiritual weaknesses, such as an insufficient amount of time devoted to God, unfocused time with spent with Him, and biblical unintelligence, can help me to improve my spiritual life and walk with God.
I wish to improve my knowledge and understanding of the core areas of property law, equity and trusts, constitutional law, criminal law and their roles in the Australian legal system and integration with Torts and Contract law, so that I can become a well-rounded and knowledgeable solicitor with good analytical ability, sound judgment and attention to detail with my career as lawyer. improvement in the knowledge of these core areas will also benefit in the understanding of how one area of law interacts with another and progress my learning.
The four different categories that NJHS looks for which are leadership, service, character and citizenship. These are many different goals of NJHS, that I show strengths in. As a world citizen of my community and my school, I have many strengths that would support the goals of leadership, service, character and citizenship. As a student I try to use these goals to guide my way through things and it clearly shows why I am a qualified candidate and student for NJHS.
Through my whole life I have always desired to go to college. I observed the hardships that members of my family endured by choosing not to go to college and lacked the proper skills needed for a sufficient job. I never want that for me, and one day when I have a family of my own I want to be able to do my share in providing for them properly. While both of my parents have taken post secondary classes, neither have obtained a college degree, and they have always pushed me to pursue my dreams in getting into a school of my choice. I have always loved my science classes and have dreamed of majoring in a science field. When I was younger, my great-grandmother died with Alzheimer's, and I was so devastated that I told my mother I was going to grow up and cure Alzheimer's. I never wanted another soul to feel what I was feeling at that moment.
Openness is described as being open to new experiences and having an “appreciation for art, emotion, adventure, unusual ideas, imagination, curiosity, and variety of experience” (Wikipedia, 2015). It is not surprising to me that this is my strongest trait and even explains why I have chosen to pursue my EHCM. I am at a point in my career where I am ready to take it the next level and I believe learning new skills and challenging myself will help me achieve my goal.
I am writing this letter to express my sincere interest in Post-Graduate Year 1 residency position at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. I had the pleasure to speak to your current pharmacy resident, Dr. Amrita Singh and learn about your program at ASHP’s Midyear Clinical Meeting. I am very impressed with the opportunities that are offered within your program and believe that this is an excellent match to my continued training and career goals.
I was born in a military hospital in Wurzburg, Germany. My father was a captain in the U.S. Army and my mother was a homemaker. I spent the first several years of my life living on an American military base, and attending German schools. My brother and I had many friends both native to Germany, and from the U.S. My father was often deployed; so many times it was just the three of us. My mother was very active in our lives, teaching us to ride bikes, taking us to school plays, and reading to us at night.
First, I am a mother after that I am a Toddler Teacher, an Aunt, sister, an ex-wife, and an advocate. There are many roles in my life I play and environments that they happen in. My strengths and weaknesses within these environments vary because of how I feel within them. My growth in the last ten years has made my ability to communicate in places stronger than ever. The journey to the strength has been a bumpy one.
My personal mission statement is as follows: To be a positive and influential person in society while still being myself at all times.
The purpose of this memo is to evaluate my listening skills, assess my strengths and weaknesses, and describe how I can improve my skills. My listening self-assessment score of 36 indicates that, although my skill level is decent, I have room to improve significantly. I regularly attend professional meetings where either informational listening or critical listening is required. Despite this, I consider my listening skills subpar and am aware of my need for improvement. In understanding how I can improve, I must first assess my strengths and weaknesses.
Based on the assessments that I completed, I found that I had strengths that were new and weaknesses that I did not know existed in my life. I found spiritual gifts that I did not lie within me. Understanding these assessments will take time and guidance from the Holy Spirit. Seeing the aspect of this assessment, mad me reflect on past pains and rewards. Swenson says, “Margin was an unrecognized possession of the peoples of the past. Throughout most of the history of the world, margin existed in the lives of individuals as well as societies.”
