Have you ever been driving with your seat your belt the wrong way? It was a August 25, 2017,a few week before school started and I still haven’t gotten any school supplies. Around 8:00 in the morning I asked “can we get school supplies?”, and my mom said “yes”. My dad said that he wanted to stop by the mall, so we headed towards the mall. On Memorial Day 2017, my dad got knee surgery, because he ripped the tendon that held his knee in place, and he still hasn't fully recovered. My nana was visiting her family, since she lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. She has a lot more family members then us, so she took my dad's truck and she left her car at our house. As we walked up to the 2 cars my dad asked my mom” who’s car do you want to take”, my mom chose my nana's car. When we got in the car I put the seat belt behind me, since it usually hurt my neck. As we were driving to the mall, I was really bored to I went on my phone and played a game. Since my seat belt wasn’t on the right way I was able to put my look towards the bottom of the car. As I was in the middle of the game I hear my mom yell at my dad, then I looked up to my dad yelling and stomping on the break. Ahead of us was a car turning.
As soon as we saw them turning it was too late to stop the car. When we hit them I hit my face on the passenger's headrest, and the seatbelt crushed my hip. My initial reaction for about 10 seconds was like “ I just got into a car crash. Omg!” Then reality hit me and I started crying because the impact really hurt, and I couldn’t breathe from the smoke from that the airbags were letting out.
I couldn’t roll down the window, then I thought about my dad, “did he hurt his knee again?”. My mom finally got out of the car to let me out since my door was jammed. As I stumbled out, I could see that my dad could barely walk with some help, which made me extremely worried. My dad finally sat down on an electrical box. I was extremely dizzy and felt like passing out. Once my mom saw that I was stumbling over she made sit down on the curb.
My dad did not want to go to the hospital, so my uncle,Quincy, called his girlfriend to pick us up. Once she got there we transferred all of my nana's things from her trunk into my uncle's
In 2011, I received a ticket from Jupiter police for reckless driving at 6:36 pm it was my first tickets ever since I’ve receive my driver’s license in 2005. I was dropping my co-worker home from work, and as I was turning into the development, a car hit me from behind. The lady immediately got out of her car screaming saying I backed my car into hers and I told her that I did not, that she hit me, she wanted to argue but I got into my car and called the police. Now, by the time the officer arrived she was laying on the floor crying and screaming with her son. So I got out the car and asked her if she was ok. Long story short I received the ticket despite my vehicle being damaged. Now because I felt that I was innocent I decided to not pay
In November my sister Brandie came down to my house. Brianna and I got our items. Then I had walked outside with the items and taken all of it to the car. I went back in then we had to say our good-byes to our endeared idolised mother.
My gram and I went to my grandfather's grave...it was his birthday today and we wanted to celebrate it in a way."
Focusing on the course that lay ahead, chills slithered down my back. The shot of the reverberating gun fired and I charged with my heart pounding like the sound of a drum. With my arms pumping and legs moving vigorously onto the course, I was the average runner in battle with my mind. My teammates leaped and hopped with excitement as I bolted; I pictured my body gracefully drifting through the air while the world stood silent. The last grueling hundred meters, I thrusted my body to the end of the finish line while the other runners stood in utter awe of my amateur performance, I flailed to the ground. Staring up at the sky, as I sat breathless and fatigued, engulfed in deep thought. I could feel the wind in my face and the dirt in my mouth. I was swept away by the calm before the storm, the exhilaration, the immense amount of heart each individual had, but mostly the passion for running.
When i was just entering seventh my dad had a heart attack but earlier that day me and my dad were fixing the pump in the canal so were out there all day it was starting to get dark and we went to turn on the sprinklers and my mom and dad started to argue about something so i went inside a heard my mom start yelling i ran out there i and i saw my dad laying on the ground having a seizure my mom started to do cpr and we had to cut off his waders so pulled out my knife and cut them off my mom said his pulse stopped but my mom started to do cpr again and his pulse was back the ambulance got there and all my dad could say is i love you son but that night i stayed at the hospital with him i stayed there for two days with him
It was spring break and my family and I were visiting my family in the still-snowy-even-though-it-was-spring-break, Manalapan, New Jersey. My grandma and I were on our way to the mall to go shopping when we get a call from my aunt. It was obvious that she was in distress as soon as she said hello.
I have been a reckless driver over my brief time driving. I had times when I would speed when I was in a hurry. I would also go fast for the sake of going fast because it was determined to be cool. I have had my fair share of reckless burnouts, and that impatient mindset has caused many mishaps in my driving. I even got into a minor wreck in a parking lot, but none of those incidents taught me anything about slowing down and just get from “A” to “B.” One mishap has changed my thought process for driving. My speeding ticket caused me to see that life in the fast lane is not the best way to go.
Not driving in the state in which I reside is considered unusual especially for someone within my age bracket not just because you can start driving at the age of 15, but because Florida is probably one of the worst states for public transportation. I can tell you from a first person perspective that it is not fun or easy to wait around for a bus that is thirty minutes to an hour late, although this is something that is to be expected on the off chance that the bus is actually on time you could miss it just for expecting it to be late.
The first time I drove. So, my grandmother decided to risk here life to teach me to drive for only two blocks. And my grandmother was a horrible teacher because she is used to standard cars and not automatic, so she puts her feet on both the gas pedal and the brake. Anyways, I can't believe that the car seems to go so fast and I was only going 5 mph! And then, I didn't know how to brake and my grandmother almost hit her head on the dash! Luckily, we made it
“Come on honey, Kaylee is doing great at her driving! Come on and let her take you for a drive!” My dad said confidently.
Sixteen is known to be a pivotal age by the means of growing responsibilities. Since sixteen is the legal driving age, it is when most American teenagers finally gain independence from their parents. Most of my friends were eager to drive and went straight to the DMV on their birthdates. I, on the other hand, had little regard towards getting behind the wheel. I had always befriended the upperclassmen at school, so normally someone would offer to give me a ride when I needed one. I was also a very introverted- that is to say that I devoted many nights at home to school work and spending time with family. My friends mocked me about it for a long period of time, but I was never troubled by it; I just wasn’t interested in driving. It wasn’t
It is an event that happens in an instant, an event that can take your life in a second and one that takes the lives of 3,287 each day. This killer goes by the name of a car crash. Car crashes are one of the main causes of death in the world despite the precautions that are installed in them. The airbag and the seat belt are the most known precautions within a car, yet seat belts continue to be a precaution many choose to ignore. Precautions are put in place for a reason, so legally requiring this form of protection can only provide positive results. When someone enters a car, the things to take into consideration are how it only takes two seconds to put on this single strap that could save your life, prevent legal offenses, and defy the laws
One of the greatest things that teenagers look forward to is getting their driver¡¦s licence and getting the freedom to do whatever they want. Ever since graduated licensing began five years ago, on April 1,1994, many people have made good and bad comments about it.
Before we headed off to the residence, we had to pick up my grandma in Arlington. The car pulled up to her house, we got her situated and soon we would be on
When we reached the intersection, I was already fully relaxed, my eyes closed as I was breathing lightly, just taking a small nap when I felt the sharp turn to the next road. It all just felt natural to me, I had been down this road many many times before and I knew the exact way she was going, but when I felt the extra bump from the wheel, my eyes shot open right away, I Could feel the bump slam my head against the ceiling of the car, and I could hear the front of the car slam into the speed limit sign, and right then and there I looked to the left of me, and I was shocked. My mother had passed out right in the driver seat! As I grabbed the steering wheel, I could taste the metallic taste from my tongue, I later realized I had bitten my tongue when I hit my head on the ceiling. I had steered the car in panic to the right, leading it to the hill as the car rolled up the hill, stopping. I took a deep breath as I look around, seeing the car was sadly leaned more
