On January 1, 2011, Mary Brown (victim) went jogging at 7:00 pm on the route she had been taking for six months and passing the usual houses. Upon reaching 123 Roper Street, a man, John Smith (defendant) ran out, tackled her to the ground, jumped on top of her, and eventually pinned her down. Then the defendant, using a box cutter, stabbed the victim in the face, making a five-inch gash just below her left eye. While cutting the victim, the defendant stated, “I watch you run by here every day and I wave hello to you from my window, but you never wave back. You think you are too pretty to wave at me, well now you will not be pretty anymore.” The defendant’s neighbor, Mike Jones, witnessed the attack and heard everything from his yard, but was too afraid to stop the attack. John Smith has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding.
Finally I have escaped. I was critical about escaping at first but now I know that it was the right choice to make. I escaped with Mary Ingles, a fellow captive. We escaped while on an expedition to find salt away from the village. Mary says we are going home, but I have no home anymore. I was the only survivor of the raid. However, Mary is a kind person and says that I could live with her family. Poor Mary she has had even worse than me she has lost all her children to the Shawnee. I feel very fortunate that I survived my captivity at all. Some of our fellow captives were even burned alive by the indians. I am lucky that I gained their respect by running the gauntlet. Mary and I escaped because they let us go out into the woods to forage

Jenny was accurate in demonstrating worry for both children. The vignette gives common examples that caseworkers run into, so I find it important to identify the immediate concerns and advocate resolving those fears. The short article shares that seven year old Jovana was sexually assaulted by her coach, the vignette does not give the perpetrator’s gender, yet I can conclude that the coach was indeed male. With that being said, I would recommend Jovana be placed with a female instructor for the afterschool program and stray away from any male mentor directly overseeing Jovana. Child sexual abuse brings with it a host of symptoms and lasting effects, such as chronic depression, low self-esteem, fear of attack recurring, etc. I would inform Jovana’s female instructor of these symptoms and provide her methods to improve Jovana’s behavior. Jovana’s teachers and afterschool instructors would have a direct role in improving her outlook, and most importantly monitoring and relaying, to the appropriate individuals, her performance. Jenny, the caseworker, has the advantage of being female, because it should be considered that a male caseworker would have a harder time communicating with the child than a female one. Jenny should keep in touch with the mother and educate her on the appropriateness of Jovana’s interaction with any adult male figures.

Savannah Brown is a YouTube creator with a total of 14.7 million views as of August 1st, 2016. She has a total of 100 videos up and a total of 362 thousand subscribers as of August 1st, 2016. On this alone, many people would desire to be put into a similar situation as Savannah Brown, but I specifically have a lot of reasons to aspire to be like her. There are downsides to these sorts of one-sided relationships and people you aspire to be like, though. Savannah Brown is a contemporary legend, role model, and a sort of idol to me, and that has its benefits, but it also has its downsides.
