National Society Of Collegiate Scholars

Being inducted into National Honors Society requires a student to demonstrate all of the four qualities many of our role models in the present and in the past have possessed, which include: scholarship, service, leadership and character. As I’m considered a candidate for this group, I already possess the quality of scholarship and it is my duty in this paper to show that I hold the other three important attributes needed to qualify for this institution.

I am privileged to be one of the remarkable students qualified to join Eureka High School’s National Honor Society. I have been looking forward to applying to this organization as it provides influential help in our society. I would be privileged to join this distinguished association because it would provide me with opportunities to get involved in my community. As a hardworking, helpful, and friendly individual, I feel that I would make an auxiliary member to this organization. I demonstrate the qualities that are necessary to join this prestigious society, including leadership, character, scholarship, and service.

The National Junior Honor Society is one of the first stepping stones to becoming a remarkable leader and citizen in my community. I have had many opportunities throughout my life to participate in my community, be it through my church, swim team , or other groups. But I truly believe that I am not a perfect citizen. I have many lengths to strive for to become the person I would like to be. NJHS will help me on my path to becoming a leader by giving me opportunities to work with people who see the world the way I do. Who see the world as full of opportunity, most of it untapped. Full of people that struggle for food, or are being crushed with work. I would like to change this , and NJHS will help me achieve my vision.

The National Honors Society allows students to be build and create traits that are essential in a successful adult. I truly believe that hold many of these traits and joining the National Honor Society will grant me the opportunity to expand on these traits and grow as a person. Thus far I have focus greatly on the scholarship aspect of NHS and have been dedicated to my academics. I have held my GPA above 4.0 and have always been devoted to maintaining that high level of academic success. I am honored to be among the commendable students whom are being considered to be a part of such a prestigious organization, The National Honor Society. I have been wanting to be a part of this organization the second I stepped into this school. Of course I have worked vigorously for it, there has not been one year here at Lone Star where I have not been in less than 3 Pre-AP or AP classes with averages frequently resulting in an A. I work hard everyday and night in order to ensure my success now and in the future. I have been a part of theatre in both middle school and high school, I am a very active thespian and have branched out by joining acting classes outside of school.

The National Honors Junior Society is one of the nation's prime organizations established to acknowledge outstanding middle school students. In order to be eligible to be a part of this society, students must exhibit certain achievements in different areas. Students must demonstrate excellence in areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. The purpose of this prestigious organization is to provide a strong foundation for building leadership skills through service to the school and the surrounding community. The National Honors Society gives the opportunity students to participate in the community. Without the NHS, the community wouldn’t be able to run the way it does. Personally, I excel in scholarship because I truly enjoy going to school and intend to go many more years in the future. I feel very adrenalized to gain this opportunity to participate in the National Junior Honor Society for the coming seventh grade school year. In NJHS, I will be able to serve RCMS and the whole community to promote the general welfare of our people, and I will be able to garner information on the most pressing issue in our community. What I am ardent about for NJHS, is that I will be able to liaise with my peers to make RCMS and the rest of our community a better place for all students and parents to function in. I have come across many enthralling experiences throughout all my school years, and NJHS will be the perfect place for me to show what my potential is and serve my community.

Being selected as a member of Grove School’s National Honor Society would be a great honor for me because I hope to achieve my goal of exhibiting my dedication to academics, community service and extra circulars. I strive to be a role model and a resource for my peers by guiding them in the right direction. I am pleased and honored to have the opportunity to forego with the process of becoming a National Honor Society member. The National Honor Society’s main goal is be involved and to better the community in various ways. For example, the organization works to serve the community, tutor students, and be leaders within the school. The members put their self interests aside and work to better the lives of everyday people in their community. Becoming a member of NHS has been a goal of mine since I entered the halls of Brick Township High School. I fully understand that it takes hard work and dedication in order to become a member but I know that I greatly exhibit those traits not only in school but also in my outside activities. This is a rare opportunity that can only happen in high school and I know that I am ready to be apart of something special.

The transition from high school to college is a dynamic time in one’s life that parallels the change from childhood to adulthood. Both of these changes are dramatic and, as a result, feelings are difficult to put down into words. A messy combination of emotions fills the heart, surfacing in strange ways. Confident high school seniors go right back to the bottom of the chain when entering college as freshmen. These students start all over, just like entering grade school or high school for the first time. The move up from high school to college signals the switch from dependence to self-sufficiency. From a personal point of view, going through the experience of graduating high school and transferring to a residential college campus at STLCOP, made me realize I was no longer a kid and capable of making my own decisions.

The thrill of moving out for college, the new profound independence that one encounters once they indulge themselves in the undergraduate experience is something I’m yet to experience. ASU recommends every Freshman to live on campus at least their first year of college and to join various clubs and organizations in order to fully enhance the undergraduate experience. Unfortunately, I couldn’t partake in that tradition, due to financial problems, I haven’t yet had the privilege of living on campus. Throughout my undergraduate career thus far, not living on campus has been a huge burden that often prevents me from being able to attend beneficial events that will help me in my future.
