It has been said that Immigration damage the economy. This is not true because foreigners help American economy to prosper. Immigration increases purchasing, and increases demand for labor. Immigration not only takes jobs, but also creates them. For instance, a man comes to America from Italy; this man opens a small Italian restaurant, this restaurant becomes prosper during the years. Five years later, this Italian man owns two more restaurants and employs twenty Americans. Similar stories, which help our economy, have happened from the beginning of the immigration times.

In the past immigration laws and immigration itself has had some flaws but really is a good thing for the U.S. First off the agriculture rise that has happened over the years. The biggest pro of immigration in history is the low wage workers. These low wage workers in the past till now have helped balance the economy a lil more. Now 52 of every 100 migrant workers have illegal status and yet they are hardworking.

Many people look past the benefits immigrants bring to our economy and society and instead scapegoat them for many of the United States’ problems surrounding unemployment and budget. Immigration is a great thing in my opinion. Immigration brings new people to new places and new foods and different ways of agriculture. People also bring together religion and races that combine and make new races. If immigration didn't happen then we would only eat certain types of food only have one or two types of religion and be a very simple, boring type of people. In summary, I would concede that immigration exist negative effects. Despite that, I think that the positive influence of the immigration is more than its disadvantage. For instance, the economy of American mainly is based on high technology, because the most outstanding people who come from different countries make a great contribution on high technology. Moreover low skill immigration also makes contributions on cleaning, cooking, and waiter services. They buy food, clothes, house, which also promote the development of the economy.

Immigration is often good for the migrants themselves, but is not good for the government. The number of illegal immigrants from Mexico, Guatemala, and other parts of Latin America grows immensely. Some immigrants don’t even have a better life in the states. America is not as glamourous as it might seem to Latin Americans. However, I find immigration to be good and bad for the citizens and government of the United States. We need the immigrants to do many of our low income “blue collar” work. However, most of the immigrants end up living in poverty and absorb tons of money from the government in order to stay afloat.

Others might think, however, that illegal immigration has some positive effects on America in places such as diversity, bringing in more help with jobs, and also helping refugees escape from tyrannical governments. Even though there are positives, the adverse effects of illegal immigration still far outway the good that these immigrants bring to the United States.

Through hardship and labor, immigrants have overcome barriers of which they were imposed and denied many rights. Though many have argued that immigrants cause more harm to the economy than good, others state that “immigrants assimilate into the U.S. Labor Force well, and distribute labor roughly evenly” (Carliner). A great example would be how immigrants participate in the labor force at an increasing rate more than that of Americans (Toosi, 39).
