The Industrial Revolution
The industrial revolution began in the late 1700s in England. The revolution was a time for new inventions, products and methods of work. Because of the industrial revolution there are many short and long term positive effect of the industrial revolution. One negative effect is poor working conditions and one positive is that in the revolution they made clothes and steam boats and many advantages of the factories with the price of product went down.
The working condition in the industrial revolution were tribal the hours were very long the safety for the works were bad. They had to work for as long as 12 to 14 hours a day and the income was very little. There were a lot of death and illness that could have been treated

Didn’t help with people getting sick and then in most cases dying because they couldn’t be treated. So, the life expectancy was very low men and women dying as young as 31 to 48 years of age. In the textiles factories they mad these machines that made pollution and from that happening it went into the atmosphere and hasn’t done much good for us today. Also, synthetic material came in so there not man made and that means it doesn’t break down life an apple because that is biodegradable not like these materials that have been made. The people who made these items were unaware of what they were doing to the environment and how it has a big impact on us today. In the start of the Industrial Revolution the people didn’t know that the coal they were using would make smog and then pollute the air and how it still a big problem today. Most people lived near their work and there was Thames river was around most of the factories. They didn’t have a very good sewerage output and the fresh drinking water and unsanitary water was combined and that was how most people got
The Industrial Revolution began in England in the late 1700’s. The Industrial Revolution was a time of new inventions, products, and methods of work. The results of the Industrial Revolution led to many short and long-term positive and negative effects. These results have been assessed from many viewpoints such as the factory workers, the factory owners, the government, and other people who observed the conditions in industrial cities.
At the time living conditions during the Industrial Revolution were poor. In Manchester the houses are overcrowded (Document 2). Most people lacked beds, food, clothing and more (Document 7). Most people spent 12-14 hours in a factory working with little to none breaks, enclosed rooms that are polluted, and not good pay. (Document 7). This
The industrial revolution spawned unimaginable injustices toward the people by capitalists and the United States government. Overpopulation, poor living
This population boom led to not only the increased of the products but products being bought. Before this boom the quality of life was low and around 75% of kids under the age of 5 died, thanks for the growth in population that number lowered down to 30%. According to Document 15: “The Factory system led to a rise in the general standard of living, to rapidly falling urban death rates and decreasing infant mortality---and produced an unprecedented population explosion.” (15). Furthermore the overall impact of this boom gave families a source of income as children could work for the well being of the family. With the growth of population products began to be mass produced therefore making them cheaper and more accessible. A main concern in during the Industrial Revolution was bad working conditions and child labor which may have been a impact in some factories but in document 3 it states “...children would thrive better when employed in our modern factories, than if at home in apartments too often ill-aired, damp, and cold. (3). Decisively it is clear that the Industrial Revolution not only contributed to the growth in population but the growth in families, companies, and the overall well being of people. On the other side working conditions were not always the best. In both Document 11: The Conditions of the Working Class in England and Document 7: Picture of Outdoor Factory Environment. They both show how disease could be spread and how roads and the safety of factories could cause injury to workers; however this was only some factories and as the factories grew so did the necessity for safety and that danger soon turned into a safe working
The Industrial Revolution was marked as the biggest shift from an agrarian, handcrafted economy, to an economy dominated by machines. The Industrial Revolution began during the 1700s in Great Britain when King George III was in power. The Industrial Revolution had many positive effects such as the invention of the railroad. It also had many negative effects like how many got sick and died because of the working conditions. Out of all the positive and the negative effects the lasting effects were major. One of the most major lasting effects was the environmental laws that were put in place to stop all of the pollution and trash in the sewage.
When something new changes your life, at first you might not know if it will have a positive or negative effect. The Industrial Revolution had positive and negative effects on North America in the 1800’s. The Industrial Revolution was a time when new inventions factories started to show up around America. It started in the late 1700’s in England. Machines that wove cotton into cloth, to make easier and products cheaper.
Improvments were brought to the initial poor working conditions later in the indutrial revolution. These prevented many other wokers from dying due to there poor lifestyles. Atough the industrial revoultion was important to the rest of the world, it came with negetive effects on the workers
Before the Industrial Revolution most people farmed, produced most goods at home, and traded locally. The Industrial Revolution was when they began to use machines to produce goods. The Industrial Revolution started in the late 1700s - early 1900s. There were many economic and social effects in the Industrial Revolution. Some of these effects included child labor, faster production of goods, poor living conditions, and more money being made. The effects of the Industrial Revolution were more positive economically because factories made more money, but negative socially because it affected workers’ health and well being.
The workers of the Industrial Revolution endured the worst of the Industrial Revolution and received the least care and appreciation, not only was there a large chance of being crushed by the machine you worked on for 16 hours a day, dirty and unforgiving work spaces led to both the destruction of a worker's body physically and internally. For example, in a heartbreaking testimony by factory worker Joseph Hebergam, not only severely damaged his lungs and bones from overwork, lack of nutrition, and dust in factories, but also witnessed kids wounded and even crushed by factory machines (including his own brother) because of uncovered machinery. In addition to Joseph Hebergrams testimony, William Cooper testified against the strenuous working hours in factories, Joseph claimed they worked 16 hours a day (that is two thirds of an ENTIRE day) with one 45 minute break, if workers were to slow down in pace they were whipped. Lastly, still referring from 28 year old (who worked from age 10) William Cooper's testimony, mentioned that he never learned to write and receive proper education due to long working hours which occupied most of his life. In any point of view, there is no justification for the way workers of the Industrial Revolution were treated, and
Mortality rates were decreasing rapidly. This was not only an effect of the poor living conditions, but also of the high pollution that was being created by the factories. Without the proper piping that is needed, the streets which were already filled with trash, also became smoggy and polluted. Women and child labor were very common in the industrial revolution with employees working from twelve to sixteen hours a day and being paid scarcely enough to get by.
The Industrial revolution was established in England around the late 1700’s. During this time, there was an increase of production by mecheniary and new resources. Several negative and positives outcomes came from the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial revolution fundamentally chnaged British life in the early 1800s by polluting the envierment, appaling working conditions and leaading British to writte acts to protect childrens rights.
The Industrial Revolution was a very gloomy time period. There were many horrible things going on at this time. One major thing was child labor. Child labor was happening everywhere. Also the dangerous working conditions for the many workers and the long, tiring hours the people had to work in those harmful polluted factories.
The industrial revolution working times were rough because the employers would set wages as low as they wanted to because people were willing to do work as long as they got paid because they needed money and any type of money would do . Child laborers often worked to help support their families,
The Industrial Revolution had many negative affects on people. Many people worked from home before the Revolution. Raw materials were delivered to people's cottages and the weavers would process the wool in their homes. This was an advantage for the workers because they would make their own schedules and work at their own pace; however, for these same reasons, they were disadvantages for business owners. The Industrial Revolution made it possible to move the jobs from cottages to factories where they business owners can oversee the workers and account for their time. Some people considered the factory jobs a blessing while others considered it a hardship. The work day was long, conditions were unsanitary and food was sparse.
The Industrial Revolution had many positive and negative impacts on society. The positive include cheaper clothes, more job opportunities, and improvement in transportation. And the negative would include exploitation of women and children, workers work long hours and environmental damages. These are just a few that I believe had an impact on the Industrial Revolution.
