ABSTRACT
Car ownership depends on the living status of every person. Developing countries import cars in highly industrialize country with different brand, design and quality. Based on the data gathered by International Car sale Statistics that there is an increased demand of car in Asia and North America. It was estimated that there are 77million of new cars will be produce globally at the end of year 2016. The major source of the car was assembled in china which quadrupled there production. The Philippines was ranked the highest of car owners showing the highest level of motive for upgrading. Different factors was considered, these are: 1. Car is a symbol of success , 2. They view their cars as a means of transportation to get them wherever they are going. The Philippines Statistics Authority (PSA) reported that as of 2016 there are 980,000 cars in the Philippines. The increased of the demand of car may be good in the economy but not in the environment. Mining industries will gain more profit in producing raw materials to supply the need of cars globally resulting to a decreased of non renewable resources. Land degradation, decreased of natural fuel reserved and pollution in to the environment was the result of the increased of car production globally. On the other hand car ownership has a good and bad impact in to our lives and in to the environment. Car has a greater contribution most specially in transportation but it is one of the factor source that damages our
Introduction Automobile usage has increased in America and elsewhere in the world. In a research done by Sutherland, J., et al. (2004) “The US has a contributed to 200 million passengers in cars and light truck over the past few years. Further in 1990, studies showed that US cars increased six times faster than human population. The leaders in the automotive industry must adopt some key elements to ensure success in this fast-moving environment. They must invest in knowing their markets, building brands, adapting product strategies and taking long-term view on their goals and objectives. This paper outlines some of the key factors which should be considered. Environmental factors automotive designers and engineers have always said the main threats in the American Automotive industry are the environmental factors such as fuel economy and the clean air regulations. Automotive Emission posed different problems than manufacturing discharges such as coal smoke. Increased fossil-fuel emission has resulted from the million car increase. Irritation smog, which is comprised of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, sulfur oxide and other various chemical mixtures are cited in major cities such as Los Angeles. These auto emissions are also said to cause headaches, visual pollutions, contribute to lung cancers and other respiratory disease. In the end, the engineers have designed cars that are better environmental performers, cost effective and fuel efficient to reduce the environmental
Climate change and transportation play a big role and it is important to be concerned for our future generations. The use of gasoline cars is a major producer in carbon dioxide emissions, although they are not entirely responsible for it—they play a role in it. Other form of transportations like buses and taxis also contribute to carbon dioxide emissions. The total amount of carbon dioxide emissions from an average car is seventy six percent which comes from usage of a vehicle containing gasoline. Efficiency has increased by twenty percent in regards to electric motors, especially when it comes to their wheels using no power when the car is at rest. Car ownership will increase and with this, improvements in technology could be a vital
Among 18-year-olds, the percentage with a driver's license dropped from 80 percent to 60 percent, and for 20- to 24-year-olds, from 92 to 77 percent. The numbers suggest that although self-driving cars represent the transportation of tomorrow, people are ready for the technology today. Although people send with the very high expectation in the self-driving car, its advocates argue that the self-driving cars are bad for the environment. Those who object to self-driving car claim that most of the energy is from electricity. To be sure, the electric car is more environmental friendly than the traditional car. However, this belief fails to consider that the electricity for self-driving car is also comes from fossil fuel; it is the same of the traditional car. As a result, using self-driving car cannot save more energy and it is not good for the environment. The public will not accept self-driving car industry in the next few years because it is not safe and it will bring some negative impacts in other
American’s are in love with the automobile in all its shapes, sizes, and utility. With a network of roads exceeding 4 million miles, cars are a way of life for more than 91 percent of U.S. households in 2009, according to U.S. Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Statistics [1]. In 2014, Americans purchased over seven and a half million passenger cars [2], reports Statista on the automotive industry. So with all those roads and all those households needing cars, and all the cars being sold, the automobile industry is massive.
The number of automobiles had risen to over 1 billion vehicles all the world in 2010, which is 20 times more than this number in 1986(Sousanis, John,2011). Car plays a indispensable role in today's society, according to a survey from World Bank(2011), the number of ownership of motor
The US Auto industry is facing the reality that new generations are not the same generations on which they built their empires. As information and global awareness are more prevalent than ever before, the consumer only wants to do what feels right to them, not what they have been told to want, and statistic show that the things the new consumer is looking for above all, is the lower cost of owning a car, followed fuel efficiency and how environmentally friendly it is.
In modern times, the world has achieved much advancement in technology. With all the knowledge that people have, they are more aware of how to help save the earth’s environment for our future generations. One environmental choice is to drive an electric car versus a gas powered car. This could be one great advancement to save the environment. A lot of research and data has been collected in recent years, which may help people better understand the most efficient ways to save the environment from all the pollution of gas powered cars. With more data collected, more people are becoming conscious of the option to drive the electric car. Electric cars do not use gas that pollutes the environment, they have no tail pipes to be replaced, and they are much quieter.
of individual car ownership has come to an end. In this paper I will examine the technological, global,
When it comes to reducing carbon emissions that severely harm the environment, the automotive industry plays an important role. Penna and Geels stated that one of the biggest challenge society confront is climate change requiring improvement in carbon use by many industries and sectors. (2015). In the US, the amount of drivers aged 65 years old and over has increased by 17.3% from 1982 to 2003 (Meyer, 2009). According to Statistics Canada, Licensed drives increased from 15.964 to 21.674 (35.7%) from 1985 to 2004. Thus, trends show that more and more people are driving every day what also mean that more emissions are being generated every day too. To fix this giant issue, car industries need to find the most effective way since they still have to produce millions of cars. I strongly believe that eliminating the totality of carbon emission produced by cars can be successfully accomplished in a near future with the correct and viable “green” management strategy. What if one of the thousand car companies who are responsible for this problem can do it in a record time? BMW Group will have decreased the half of the carbon emissions (CO²) with their new fleet of cars in less than 3 years from now, taking 1995 as a base year (BMW Sustainable Report, 2014). With successful sustainable development, BMW Group has been able to reduce by 38% from 1995 to 2014 their vehicles carbon emissions (CO²) (BMW Sustainable Report, 2014). In Addition, BMW technology is presently considered as the
The competition of global car industry is intense. Competitors are from all around the world, such as from Germany and Japan. They divide the market into several segments: youth cars, family cars, business cars, luxury cars, and high fuel efficient cars. The maturity stage of the industry life cycle has been changed to fit the changing needs of customers. With the rapid development of technology, vehicles can be completely gasoline free: electric car and hydrogen car; or hybrid car: gasoline and electric fuel combination. Moreover, the purchase power of customers has been shifted from strong to being rational because of the global economic downturn. Price and fuel efficiency are the first consideration when they are buying a car.
There is no question that pollution from automobiles is a major problem in industrialized countries and is increasing in developing nations. And the number of cars is increasingly rapidly: in the United States, the automobile population has increased 6X faster than the human population and 2X faster than the number of new drivers (Motavelli, 2000). At the same time, the average fuel economy of the 2001 fleet decreased to 20.4 miles per gallon, the same it was in 1980. This decrease is fueled by the growing trend in
The environmental impact of automobiles is becoming a major topic for the manufacturers. New regulations have been created in order to enforce manufacturers to make automobiles that cause less of an impact. These regulations resulted in an increased price for the manufacturers and the consumers. The strict standards have resulted in higher priced automobiles than one would expect (Furth, 2016). With the enhancements made in technology, one would expect the price of automobiles to decrease, yet this is not the case due to the impact of the regulations. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that automobiles made after 2009 will have a higher price than previous automobiles because of the new regulations that were put in place (Furth, 2016). However, this belief has led to conflicts between academic critics and the EPA (Furth, 2016). Further research is required to determine if the higher costs of automobiles is solely caused by the regulations that are being imposed or if there is another cause. Either way, the price of automobiles has increased in the last several years and this can be problematic for any company in the automobile industry, but especially for newer competitors like Tesla.
Nowadays, the using of electro car becomes more popular over the world. Most of the people will drive for work or travel in Zhuhai, and the using of fossil fuel car can cause environmental problem such as climate change, global warming. Environmental problems are more serious than before. Air pollution could be caused by releasing off-gas from fuel vehicle. The using of electro car is not only benefit for the environmental problem, but also good for economic development. On the other hand, there are still a lot of problems need to be solved if we want to popularize the use of electro car in Zhuhai, such as the limitation of driving distance and long charging time. These kinds of disadvantages will affect the citizen’s willingness of choosing electro car. So we want to find out the factors that influence Zhuhai citizen willingness of using electro car.
According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the automobile industry in India has seen a tremendous compound growth at the rate of 22 % between the year 1992 and 1997. Furthermore, the annual turnover of the automobile sector in India, in the financial year 2002-2003, is said to have surpassed the capital investment of Rs 50,000 crore. With Indian automobile corporations gaining international market, the turnover in the similar year was calculated to be Rs. 59,518 crore. The Indian automobile industry will be a standout amongst the leading in the globe. Those business accounts to 7. 1 percentage of the country 's horrible down home item (GDP). Likewise around FY 2014-15, around 31 % of little autos sold comprehensively need aid made over India. The two Wheelers section with 81 percentage business sector allotment is the pioneers of the Indian car business owing with a developing white collar class What 's more an adolescent populace. Moreover, the developing investment of the organizations in exploring those provincial business sectors further helped those development of the division. Those Generally speaking passementerie vehicle (PV) section need 13 percentage business stake. India may be also a conspicuous auto exporter and need solid fare growth desires for those close future. Clinched together with April-January 2016, fares of business Vehicles enrolled a Growth from claiming 18. 36 % through April-January 2015.
