I found these points to be important because it shows Rita had difficutly with speech when she was younger. Rita also has an average IQ, but is getting with Cs and Ds in class. Also, her PIAT-R scores are average or above average, except for several reading or writing categories. This indicates something is adversely effecting her educaitonal performance. I believe there is not enough information for Rita to qualify for services. For example, we do not know if Rita is having difficulty with speech and language as a ten year old. We also do not know if her auditory receptors are functioning properly or if Rita has a hearing
The team will look into the child’s cognitive abilities such as IQ, learning styles and adaptive behaviour. These are important as well for possible treatment

The child struggled to make comparison of words; I would recommend him practicing comparison words to improve his communication. I would recommend the parent provide an activity or work sheet for the child to practice comparison words. The final recommendation I would make, would be that the parent and the child engage in more conversations. The child had a difficult time repeating two sentences that was previously said to him. These recommendations would enhance the child communication to keep him on track for developing at his

Question: How is the concept of belonging presented in Educating Rita? Extract One: Act 1 Scene 1 Willy Russell explores the concept of belonging in the first scene of Educating Rita through language and dramatic techniques. It is evident from the moment that Frank and Rita meet that their perceptions of belonging are vastly different. Rita's entrance, "I'm comin' in, aren't I? It's that stupid bleedin' handle on the door. You wanna get it fixed!" shocks both Frank and the audience in her apparent ignorance of social conventions surrounding admission to a university lecturer's office. Her use of slang and contractions of words suggests that she belongs to the working class rather than to Frank's educated class. Her tone

Through the development of the relationship between Rita and her alcoholic and cynical tutor, Frank, this story brings up many concepts in adult development and education.
