Rochester, MI (June 17, 2016) – For thousands of families in the Rochester area, getting help in a time of need is about to get much easier. Neighborhood House, a local human services organization, is moving its headquarters to 1720 South Livernois Road, Rochester Hills. The new location is an expansive 8,750 square feet, more than four times larger than the current facility. It will accommodate nearly twice as many people with ongoing case management and emergency services.
Throughout 2015, Neighborhood House helped nearly 3000 local families in need, however, studies have indicated that there are an estimated 12,000 households within a 100-mile radius of Rochester that could benefit from the assistance provided by the organization.

However, I would not support a half-way house being opened in my neighborhood. In order for one to understand my point of view and meaning of half-way houses, I must first dissect how these dwellings can support or oppose a community lifestyle. Recently in Detroit, with the efforts to negate the current standings, they provided housing aid. According to the housing statistic, the housing aid drew crowds in Detroit. “One in four working-age adults in Detroit are without a job and the city’s home foreclosure rate continues to be among the nation’s highest.”
I come from a small rural town nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. My hometown is split down the middle by a set of railroad tracks. On the north side, one can find pristine neighborhoods, newer schools, most doctors’ offices, and the only hospital in town. The south side of the town stands as a stark contrast. On the south side, you no longer find the wealthy neighborhoods but rather dilapidated and condemned homes and housing projects. One seems to find abandoned buildings on every corner, many inhabited by those that have lost their homes. The Homeless Veteran Housing Program was created to bypass group homes and work towards finding veterans safe and stable homes that they can restart their lives. The program will initially be implemented at Veteran Rehabilitation, initially the Greensboro Servant Center, in the Piedmont Triad area in North Carolina. A political machine is best described as an unofficial organization designed to keep a particular group in power. Political machines generally dispensing social services and jobs to growing diverse immigrant populations in exchanges for votes.
The apartment complex opening was recognized with a ribbon-cutting celebration that featured Denver Mayor Michael Hancock. 20 residents have moved into the apartments already, and the 40 remaining potential residents are in the process of being located. Beyond encouraging stability for its residents, MHCD hopes to improve upon this concept and create another apartment complex to reunite families that have been affected by homelessness.
This group will most likely be living alone in an apartment or single family home in the low income section of town that is situated close to strip mall type of shopping center, which may or may not have a major anchor store.
Charity Productions in partnership with the College of Architecture’s Texas Target Communities Program at Texas A&M University have collaborated together to develop a set of solutions in response to the pre-existing neighborhood conditions throughout Harris County in Houston, Texas. The conditions of these particular neighborhoods have created a pattern of disparities throughout Harris County to be recognized as constraints to residents in impeding their ability to become affluent members of society. Texas Target Communities and Charity Productions have taken a step further to not only provide an analysis of evidence for these disparities but to identify the assets present in these communities to formulate feasible and cost effective solutions.

This case involves an investigation of the factors that affect the sale price of Oceanside condominium units. It represents an extension of an analysis of the same data by Herman Kelting (1979). Although condo sale prices have increased dramatically over the past 20 years, the relationship between these factors and sale price remain about the same. Consequently, the data provide valuable insight into today’s condominium sales market.
This case investigates the factors that are affecting the sale price of Oceanside condominium units. The relationship between these factors and sale price has remained the same despite condo sale prices increasing drastically over the past 20 years.
The main issue presented in the case is that Meyer Mobile Homes Corporation has experienced a steady decrease in sales at one of their retail locations, Dixie Land Homes. To improve the performance of the organization, this issue must be addressed.
