Alcohol is the most abused licit psychoactive drugs that affect one 's ability to think rationally and distorts their judgement if consumed excessively. Alcohol addiction is an illness arising from prolonged and excessive intake of alcoholic drinks. An alcoholic is a person suffering from alcohol addiction. Prolonged excessive use of large quantities can eventually lead to chronic health diseases like cirrhosis of the liver, anaemia, cardiovascular disease, dementia, depression seizures, gout and alcohol related accidents and crime. Statistics show that 9 million people in England drink more than the recommended daily intake while an estimated 8.697 died of alcohol-related deaths in 2014. According to the WHO worldwide alcohol causes 1.8 million deaths (3.2% of total) and 58.3 million (4% of total) of Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs). Alcohol beverages with varied percentage content are consumed globally during religious, social, cultural events, festivals and other occasions. The use of alcoholic beverages has been an integral part of many cultures for thousands of years (McGovern, 2009). Over the centuries, there have been ongoing measures, research, interventions and policies which are aimed at promoting the moderate use of alcohol with a particular emphasis on preventing or reducing undesired outcomes. The service minutes is high due to a court process that cannot be rushed. WYP Ngo went to court to support the youth. The youth was afraid to be incarcerated, due to having a few minor violations and an incident that was reported to the police. Therefore, the youth used substances over the weekend, because he thought he was going to be incarcerated in court. The youth is reporting to his probation officer tomorrow. WYP Ngo will assist the youth to get a bus pass. The next one on one will be on November 14th, 2017.
The foster contacted WYP Ngo to cancel the one on one with the youth today, because the youth was placed in custody for robbery. The foster will keep WYP Ngo updated when the youth has court for his violation. WYP Ngo contacted the WCC (Wraparound Care Coordinator) as requested from the foster father. WYP Ngo updated the WCC about the situation.

The social problem of addiction is quite prevalent in our society. Many individuals from all different ethnic problems have turned to drugs at some point in their life. Substance use disorder can have compelling ramifications on the health of the abuser, their family and even the communities they live in. In 2012, around 23.1 million Americans aged 12 and older needed treatment for substance use (SAMHSA, 2014). The rate of people that have abused substances ranging from alcohol, pills, Marijuana, Heroin and cocaine etc. has escalated greatly over the years.Many teenagers or even adults aren 't aware of the treatment options and/or they don 't have the necessary funding to receive it. Nonprofits have been involved in U.S. housing since the early 20th century when the tenement house was the “labor housing” in urban areas like New York City.
