Nickola Tesla
Inventor and engineer Nickola Tesla was born in Jul of 1856, in Croatia. He came to the United States of America in 1884 and briefly worked with Thomas Edison before the two parted ways. He sold several patent rights, including those to his alternating-current machinery, to George Westinghouse. His 1891 invention, the “Tesla Coil” is still used in radio technology today. Nickola died in New York City on January 7, 1943.
Nickola Tesla was born on July 10, 1856, in what is now Smiljan, Croatia. Tesla’s interest in electrical invention was spurred by his mother, Djuka Mandic, who also was an inventor, invented small household appliances in her spare time while her son was growing up. Teslas father, Miltin Tesla, was priest and

Edison hired Tesla, and the two men were soon working tirelessly alongside each other, making improvements to Edison's inventions. However, several months later, the two parted ways due to a conflicting business-scientific relationship, attributed by historians to their incredibly different personalities: While Edison was a power figure who focused on marketing and financial success, Tesla was commercially out-of-tune and somewhat …show more content…
He was also a pioneer in the discovery of radar technology, X-ray technology, remote control and the rotating magnetic field—the basis of most AC machinery.
After suffering a nervous breakdown, Tesla eventually returned to work, primarily as a consultant. But as time went on, his ideas became progressively more eccentric and impractical. He also grew increasingly bizarre, devoting much of his time to the care of wild pigeons in New York City's parks. He even drew the attention of the FBI with his talk of building a powerful "death beam," which had received some interest from the Soviet Union during World War II.
Unfortunately, Nikola Tesla died on January 7, 1943, at the age of 86, in New York City, where he had lived for nearly 60 years. But the legacy of the work he left behind him lives on to this day.

Main point 1 Nikola Tesla was born July 9, 1856 in Smiljan, Austro-Hungarian Empire today it is know as Croatia.
“To investigate the electrical realm of high-frequency and high-voltage, Tesla invented an apparatus that pushed the limits of electrical understanding. None of the circuit's typical components were unknown at the time, but its design and operation together achieved unique results—not the least because of Tesla's masterful refinements in construction of key elements, most particularly of a special transformer, or coil, which is at the heart of the circuit's performance” (PBS). This new invention would be called the Tesla Coil. This invention of the coil would help Tesla and the world with new inventions. “Tesla made an antenna of the high-voltage end of his secondary, it became a powerful radio transmitter. In fact, in the early decades of radio, most practicable radios utilized Tesla coils in their transmission antennas. Tesla himself used larger or smaller versions of his invention to investigate fluorescence, x-rays, radio, wireless power, biological effects, and even the electromagnetic nature of the earth and its atmosphere”
Nikola Tesla was originally from Croatia but then moved to the United States in 1884. He there created the first ever Air Conditioner motor in New York also where he met Thomas Edison his future rival. One day Nikola Tesla was walking somewhere with sand and then his idea popped into his head. He was thinking about a brushless Air Conditioner making the first sketches of its rotating electromagnets in the sand. During 1887 and 1888 Nikola Tesla’s work caught the attention of George Westinghouse, the
inventions, therefore his inventions ad patents helped impact society. Some of the things he invented and patented are the polyphase AC electric motor,
Nikola Tesla was born on July 10, 1856, in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. His father was a priest and his mother created appliances to help with farm work. Tesla stated his inventive creativity came from his mother.
Tesla began his education at home and later attended a gymnasium in Carlstadt, Croatia, which excelled his studies along the way. He was able to carry through integral calculus in his mind, as an early sign of a genius. He once said, ¨One day I will go to America and capture energy in his way.¨ Thirty years later he did exactly what he said he would. Even though Tesla had early creativity, he did not consider himself as an inventor until he was a young adult.
Nikola Tesla was born in 1856. At exactly midnight on July 10th, the village of Smiljan in Croatia welcomed a bouncing baby boy into the world. Little did they know the impact he would have for generations to come. Tesla’s father was a Serbian-Orthodox priest and his mother, though unschooled, was very smart and managed the household affairs. When Tesla was 7 years old, he lost his brother, Daniel, in a riding accident.
Who was Nikola Tesla? The famous Serbian- American inventor Nikola Tesla, the original inventor of A.C. electricity. In 1884 Tesla arrived in the U.S. with little more than the clothes on his back and a letter of introduction to famed inventor and mogul Thomas Edison. (Nikola tesla biography, 2015)
He had 4 other siblings and he was the fourth child. The oldest sibling was his only brother who died in an accident involving a horse when Tesla was only 5. He has 2 older sisters and a younger sister all who married orthodox priests. His father is Milutin Tesla and his mother was Duka Mandic. His mother came from one of the oldest families in the country and a line of inventors. She was skilled with her craft and invented many household objects and was also a very hard worker. Nikola Tesla’s father was a son of an officer who served in Napoleon's army. Tesla’s father also served in the military, but later became a poet and a priest. Luckily, Tesla wasn’t poor when he lived in Croatia, but when he died he did what was better for humanity unlike Edison who was a better businessman and is now more famous because of that.
There have been many scientists throughout time that have made an enormous impact on the world such as Newton, Aristotle, Galileo, Einstein, and Nikola Tesla. These are just a few of the brightest minds ever to exist. Nikola Tesla was born on July 10, 1854 in Smiljan, Croatia, and spent his childhood there. His mother was the person that first got him interested in science because she invented small household tools in her spare time. Tesla’s father was a priest and did not approve of his passion for science as much as his mother did.
Nikola Tesla was born in Smiljan, Croatia at midnight between July 9th and 10th 1856. He was intelligent since his early childhood. He soon became interested in engineering and he studied it at the Technical University in Graz, Austria, from 1877 to 1880. Right after that he went to the University of Prague in 1880, but his father had died and he withdrew his studies from the University soon after. Tesla always dreamed of becoming an electrical engineer and to invent a new type of power transmission instead of Direct Current (DC). He mourned for his father for about a year, but he had to return to his work. In 1881 he went to Budapest to work as an engineer for a telephone company, but this isn't what he wanted to in life. Tesla's
In 1891, at the age of 35, he became a naturalized American citizen. In 1893, at the World's Fair, Tesla and Westinghouse made history by having the first exhibit ever powered by electricity. He demonstrated several things, including the fluorescent light bulb. This was to lead to problems with Edison, as Tesla was in favor of AC power, while Edison was promoting DC power systems.
Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) was an inventor and is responsible for the world as we know it. He developed alternating current, the Tesla coil, and wireless connectivity. Today he is regarded as one of the most important geniuses in history, but while he was alive, his ideas were largely unsupported.
