I have spent about a half of a year at Northview High school. Going here was really frightening for me and I was really nervous about coming here. In this half of a year I have learned a lot and I am here to tell you some things you might need to know. One thing that you have probably heard is doing your homework. Yes, I know homework is boring but most of you grade is from homework assignments. Even if they are completion grades it still means something because missing a lot of homework can bring your grades down, and if you want to go to college you need good grades. Also, studying before tests can really help get a better grade and help you remember this information for you exams. Lastly, you should keep all of you notes that you take because
For my Professional Engagement placement, I was assigned to a UNSW ASPIRE program school, Granville Boys High School (GBHS), an single-sex government school situated in South Western Sydney. Due to its geographical location in one of the most multicultural regions in Sydney, with 95 per cent of the school’s total of 488 enrolments classified as Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE) students. Most students attending the school live in the surrounding Holroyd/Auburn area, with a large majority of students from Arabic or Muslim backgrounds. Additionally, there are recently arrived students from Africa and students with South Pacific Islander backgrounds. As well as being classified as a
To many freshman the first day of high school is the opening chapter of a new novel, a fresh start to a sometimes embarrassing middle school experience we would all just love to erase from our memories. August 13th, 2012 was the beginning of my four year long narrative at Cypress Bay High School. Despite my desperate desire to grow up, become an adult, and move far away from my parents for college all that did not seem possible because I had never previously attended a public school. I was struck with fear that I would not be able to adjust to the fast pace dynamics of a large high school.
Textures and materials are experienced through vision and touch. Playing with textures can create a better experience for the user or even help with wayfinding for people who are blind. In Diamond Ranch High School, the firm, Morphosis designed the school with multiple textures and materials throughout.
Although the first year of high school is a big transition, it’s crucial in determining the remaining years of high school because, First, having good grades will determine whether or not you get accepted the university you want and there are more opportunities for scholarships. Second, joining a club in high school will give you an insight in leadership and teamwork. Third, Slacking of your freshman year in high school is a bad thing to do because it will affect your senior year and all the classes you missed or failed, you will have to retake all of them. Lastly, all of these factors all come into play your senior year they can either help you or make your high school years miserable. First, having good grades in your freshman year will open up the doors to more opportunities coming your way. My freshman year wasn't the best I got D's and C's and almost failed two classes. Laziness played a big factor in why I got bad grades I was lazy to do homework and any projects. I had some advice from my cousin’s they would always tell me not to mess up freshman year, but, I ignored them and you start to pay for it senior year by retaking all those classes you failed. To get better grades I set up a planner and wrote down due dates and set up a time organizer at home and this helped me better organize my time to do the work. My advice to all new freshmen is to set up a work schedule for your work it will better your studying habits and make you aware of due dates and the time you
If I was the principle of Metro High School I would use the four types of reinforcements to motivate the students to improve performance and attendance.* This change of policies would realisticly take place over long period of time with a good system of data collection and other types of control functions. It is also very important to have the parents of the children involve as much as possible.
When the Supreme Court ruled that nine teenagers would be chosen to integrate LIttle Rock’s Central High School, the citizens of Little Rock responded in many different ways. Most of the students at Central High School were very rude to the nine students and very few were kind to them. In the book there were many instances were the students were rude but one example was on page 72 when the nine students walked in the school most students were yelling very rude things to them.
Chamblee, GA is a small city outside of the metro Atlanta area that is characteristically different racially and ethnically than everything around it. The Hispanic population stands at 58.5% of the total population as of 2010, but in Atlanta and Georgia more broadly, this population only makes up 5.2% and 8.8% respectively. Additionally, only 7% of Chamblee’s population is Black, whereas this group is 54% of Atlanta’s population and 30.5% of Georgia’s. However, my alma mater, Chamblee Charter High School, stood out from the city itself being an amalgamation of a magnet program and a charter public school, bringing in students from around the county with significant representation from the Chamblee area as well. Consequently, the school’s
R/O responded to Civic Memorial High School in reference to a Juvenile not wanting to listen to the Principal. Upon arrival I spoke with Mr.Kilpatrick who stated that the juvenile had an altercation with one of the teachers and said "fuck you" to the teacher. Mr.Kilpatrick stated that he was only trying to get the juvenile in a separate room away from the hallway but the juvenile would not comply.
For instance, when the author study the behaviors of Latino students in Oakdale Elementary School, he discovers that Latino students usually sat attentively during lessons, followed instructions, and adhered to the rules for classroom participation. For instance, Latino students will actively raise their hands and answer the questions that teachers give. Beside that, when teachers scold the Latino students because of their misbehaviors, the students usually listen to the admonitions of teachers attentively. Lastly, the Lation students can avoid the cycle of disciplinary processes because of the special lense of teachers. The teachers in Oakdale Elementary school usually ignore the misbehaviors of Latino students or give them no punishments,
My video followed the story of Frances Collins-Moore, a counselor at Marshall Fundamental High School. Her story highlights many topics related to school counseling including the importance of being flexible with professional duties, working directly with your student population, communicating with parents, student and teacher advocacy, and the importance of self-care. She worked as a teacher for ten years before transitioning to school counseling and has worked in a direct counseling role for the last ten years. I really appreciated her holistic approach to school counseling. She recognizes that different approaches are needed with different students in order to properly motivate them and address their concerns. She also sees herself as a
Discussion: Mr.Spooner reported that Jeffery is doing well at school, home and in the community. He reported that his neurologist discontinued Zolpidem and decrease Trileptal. Mr.Spooner informed the team that Jeffery's mother is back in his life and he deemed it helpful. Jeffrey will continue to attend Neshaminy High School in Pennsylvania and the ESY for summer. Mr.Spooner stated that the teachers have recommended that Jeffrey continues at Neshaminy High school in September as well. Mr. Spooner will make a decision by August if Jeffrey will reside in NJ or Pennsylvania.
If children who have moved to a new school in the same state had to choose their favorite school, then some mixed reviews will occur. Some of these children may prefer their previous school while the others may prefer the new one. If asked to develop a list of similarities and differences between the schools, then, as a result, various children will say that the two schools are similar. Now apply this same scenario to a group of children who have moved to schools in a different state, the children would say that the two schools are like night and day. This is true in the case of Frank W. Cox High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Ridgeview High School in Orange Park, Florida. A handful of people who believe this to be untrue. These people believe that regardless of location, two schools
I am Tahnieah Leach the daughter of Letisha Allen and the granddaughter of Angela Leach out of Chadbourn North Carolina. I attend West Columbus High School in Cerro Gordo were I was a former cheerleader, track runner, and also participated in the dance, theater, chorus, and talent search programs offered at my school. If I had to describe myself I would say I was a very outgoing, determined, and dedicated person. When I have a goal, passion, or interest in something I dedicate my time to learn more about it, perfect, and mater it. My high school career has been a mixture of ups downs twist and turns but through it all it has taught me many life lessons and has been four years to remember. High school has shown me who I really am as a person, it has
Greetings incoming freshmen! I have been assigned to give you advice as you make the joyous transition to Oak Hills high school. Seeing as I have no real highschool experience or social experience, I am sure this instruction will go beautifully. Ah High school the marvelous and breathtaking time where hearts are broken and young lives are ruined. Highschool helps you grow into bright young adults with life experience and social skills. Because, of course shoving people into lockers and smearing ketchup in stairwells is how intelligent adults behave in the real world. This social and educational extravaganza was made to educate and prepare the adults of tomorrow with its lustrous hallways filled with couples searching for each other's tonsils, its remarkable classrooms with
The traditional public school that I chose and that I am observing is called Eagle Rock Jr./ Sr. High School.
