Mark Strand once said,” Old ways won’t open new doors.” Strand meant that doing things the old way or having old things doesn’t give an opportunity for new beginnings and better things or ideas. The article titled “School Choice: Build New or Not?”, talks about unsafe and unhealthy environments that could impact the students and budgets. It is important to rebuild Lincoln Junior High School, built in 1923, in Plymouth, Indiana because it will give students more learning opportunities and fix some health/safety issues. Others believe that it is a better idea to renovate the school.

Being a sophomore at Cypress High School has already taught me much. My first year there I didn't know anyone but I quickly made friends with the friendly students of Cypress High. The teachers at Cypress are super friendly, they create a learning environment an enjoyable place to be. In the beginning of sophomore year AP teachers expose you experience a college environment which helps prepare us to be ready in the future.Being an athlete at Cypress High has taught me many things, some of them being sportsmanship, leadership skills, as well as teamwork. My overall review of Cypress High School is that it's an enjoyable and pleasant place to learn in.

The road to the historic desegregation of Little Rock Central High school began in the 1930’s when the NAACP tasked future Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall with fighting segregation in schools. By 1950 he had helped to strike down segregation in universities in several states. In 1951, the NAACP aided parents of black children attending public schools in Topeka, Kansas in attempting to overturn the state’s segregation laws. After a three year court battle, the 1954 Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education Topeka culminated in the abolishment of school segregation laws in 21 states. (Seeds 1)

I purpose Liberty Ranch should do activities to help us with our eating habits like keeping a food journal, inviting a professional health speaker to help make the school healthier, make food posters or a nutrition class.

On March 16, 2017 in Rockville, Maryland, a 14-year-old ninth grade girl was raped in her high school bathroom by two illegal immigrants aged 17 and 18 also attending the high school. This has shaken the Maryland community and is raising a lot of questions about student’s safety at school and the state’s immigration policies. This is not an incident that should ever have happened and should never happen again in the future.

Segregation is the separation of different groups of people based on their ethnicity, or religion, by society. In 1957, nine African Americans students attended Little Rock High School, which was an all-white high school. These African American students wanted to have equal opportunities just as white people did, and decided to do something about it. Desegregation encouraged other people to fight for their rights, and stand up for what they believed in. This event led to the integration of the Little Rock High School. The integration of the schools improved the quality of the education that African Americans were getting. Mt. Vickson High School contains a little over 1,000 students total. It's a small high school in Connecticut that doesn't have much recognition. My last 3 years working here have been interesting. Fresh out of college, I applied for a job teaching science or math. I applied at many other schools, but the Mt. Vicks school board got back to me very quickly and offered me a choice: either honors and scholars biology or essentials and scholars algebra 1. Although both were strong suits of mine, I had been an honors student all my life and my biology teacher had inspired me to become a teacher in the first place. Sometimes, school is competitive. It can become so competitive that students will lie or go so far as to cheat. Some will even kill. Honor Students at Driftwood City High School partake in an Honors English Literature class that ends the year with an exam. The three students who score highest on this test receive a Distinguished Writers Foundation scholarship. This is both a great honor as well as a way to get into the nation's most prestigious colleges and universities. As this is such a serious event, cheating consequences are severe. Public school students are being put under outrageous amounts of pressure to do well on their tests and quizzes. As an A-average high school student at Pottsgrove High School, I know what it is like to waste 3-4 hours memorizing meaningless material so I can regurgitate and write on a quiz or test. Pennsylvania puts so much emphasize on learning but instead of teaching us meaningful lessons, we are taught the strategies of taking quizzes and tests. This is not promoting students to their full potential, but simply rewiring our adolescents to simply memorize and throw away.

1889, that’s when the long history of Columbia City High School starts. Columbia City High School is a very old school with very rich history, but it's time to turn over a new stone. Since this dilapidated school has reached a point when it's become of ill repair and there’s nothing more to do. The numerous problems that plague CCHS are constant. The final straw was pulled, the city has decided to build a new high school within the next three years. This is a large project that current high school students won’t be able to participate in but should still try the help as much as possible.

The location is in a very good spot in town. The store is near a shopping mall, so if athletes are looking for shoes, or other things, they can go into star physical for an exam. Its also near HWY 51 bypass, so visitors can visit, or just look around. Athletes, no matter what sport, would go to star for multiple reasons: injuries, workout advice, or just to learn about physical therapy. The most targeted customer type for a physical therapy office is athletes, so if runners, ball players, etc. visit, the business has served its purpose. Its also located near a highway, so if people moving into town might see it as a possible work opportunity.

There is a quote that I have embraced during my professional journey I like that state, “The influence of a good teacher can never be erased”. As a product of the Muscogee County School district, my life mirrors that statement. If it were not for my awesome teachers I would not be the person and teacher I am today. Growing up poor, I lived in Wilson Apartments and attended Fox Elementary School. It was my kindergarten teacher Mrs. Vignery that ignited my passion to become a teacher. She would always hold my hand and made me feel loved despite my many issues. As a result, I wanted to pass this love to my students. Being a student of Greenbrier High School I have lots of opinions that the school could change for better or worse. Now I know that my opinion doesn’t matter to the school and to the faculty. Many times there are searches of student lockers and backpacks along with the student being there in person. Most of the time the people that get searched are the ones that look suspicious.
