In mid-April 2000, Sherri Worth was faced with some very unsettling news about Pate Memorial Clinic’s future with a competitor potentially moving into the area. Worth was the assistant administrator at Pate Memorial Hospital (PMH) and was also responsible for the Pate Health Clinic (PHC). On 02/012016, at approximately 1833hrs, Officer Estimond unit 3610 was dispatched to a reported subject urinating inside of the train located on the southbound platform at Doraville station.. Once Estimond made contact with Mullins, he realized that Mullins was staggering and unable to stand alone. Officer Estimond also smelled the scent of alcohol coming from Mullins breath. Mullins was arrested for Drunkennes and transfered to Doraville city jail. Doraville refused to intake Mullins because of his drunkenness. officer Estimond returned with Mullins back to Doraville Station and called for an Ambulance to respond. Dekalb EMS #54 arrived, treated Mullins on scene and decided to transfer Mullins foR further evaluation to Northside hospital.

Currently, the College of Osteopathic Medicine department at Nova Southeastern University offers multiple clinical services that are open to the public. Here patients have the opportunity to establish care and get treated by doctors. These clinics also help students to learn and experience firsthand what it takes to become a doctor. The students are able to work alongside the doctors, and have one on one encounters with the patients. The main clinics are located at the Sanford L. Ziff center; the clinics currently available are Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Family Medicine, Optometry, and Dental. From Monday to Friday the clinics operate from 8AM to 5:30PM, except for Family Medicine which on Tuesdays and Thursdays provide a night clinic service, from 5pm to 7pm and a weekend clinic on Saturdays from 8am to 12pm. Mental health is a substantial problem in our society and our government is. In the past, many of the severely addicted and mentally ill patients of Greater Vancouver were sent to Riverview Hospital, a mental health facility in Coquitlam that was shut down in July 2012. The aftermath of the deinstitutionalization of these patients caused unneeded problems. Riverview Hospital must be reopened to provide the beds and housing that community facilities lack for those with mental illnesses. When Riverview reopens, patients will have access to the treatment they urgently need. The development and use of EBP mentors and champions will be helpful in increasing evidence based practice use in our department or hospital. According to Wallen et al. (2010), organization with evidence based practice who has a mentorship program have a higher rate of EBP implementation readiness than those who did not have EBP mentor and champions.
