The government has started the Andromeda Initiative and according to this, they are going to transport 2 million people to another planet in the Andromeda galaxy in hopes of expanding the civilization and protecting the humane genome. To be able to be a part of this initiative, the human beings would have to carry pure genetic characteristics such as no previous family illnesses, no current or potential diseases, no use of drugs or any harmful substances. I do not agree with this decision because every single person is different and their bodies deal with conditions in a different manner. Even if a person has no pervious genetic disorders and is considered ‘pure,’ there is a huge chance that the person will develop a chronic health disease just based off of the type of lifestyle that he/she is accustomed to. Heart disease, stroke and diabetes are likely to occur if the person has a sedentary lifestyle and is not active in sports or other activities. Cancer is a chronic disease that can happen to an individual randomly and it does not require any stimulants so it is unfair to screen a person based on their past history since the human body and genome are too complex to be classified like that …show more content…

The higher the number, the more the body fat a person has. BMI, however, does not work the same way for everyone. Bodybuilders may have a very high BMI, despite not being obese, leading to incorrect readings and on the other hand, older people might have low BMI, but that is because they have lost muscle mass and not because they are obese. Hence, BMI is different for every person and is not a good way to generalize how a person’s physique should be judged. BMI should be evaluated by a health care provider who will be using various sources, along with BMI, in order to figure out how unhealthy or fit a person really
