The day of 11-4-16 was a long day. The day started out long and as time went by it got longer it seems like.

I live at 383 East, 143rd street and my zip code is 10454. It is an area in which Latinos are the main population. This area is called Mott Haven in which there are many public housing projects. I live in one of the housing project in which my neighbors I can see they are mainly Hispanics and Blacks. Around my specific zip code area, there are different neighborhoods. In addition, even though these neighbourhood are very close to each other, there are still a lot of differences between them. I will focus on the varieties of people’s races that inhabit certain areas of the zip code 10454 and how certain areas have more schools while other areas have more businesses.

Upon entering English 111 on-line class, I had not taken an English class on-line before. In the past I have taken several other basic classes. An Oklahoma bill is currently making it’s way through the senate right now that could drastically affect the way abortion is by residents. State Senator Joseph Silk, plans to abolish abortion in the state of Oklahoma with his bill titled, SB 1118. SB 1118 would consider the act of abortion to be first degree murder. The bill has recently passed through the health and human services committee, and the first degree murder penalty was added after. Silk states, “Life begins at contraception,” and believes the embryos have every right to be protected as a one-year-old child would be. Unfortunately for Silk, the bill is currently stuck, held by the republic committee, and refusing to let SB 1118 be heard on the senate floor. Each stage of puzzle building corresponded with a stage of the Crucible project. Stage one: the class attempted to find a common idea. Stage two: the idea was set in stone, and questions were produced by small groups. Stage three: working hard to finish the project.
