Nutritionists are people who specialize in food and their nutritional properties. Nutritionists spend their time teaching individuals about making healthy eating choices and adapt healthy habits in their diet. Healthy dietary choices is the first step to creating healthier lifestyles, and nutritionists specialize in communicating that. Nutritionists acquire these well paying jobs through many years of schooling, training, and internships. Nutritionists are well educated individuals with many duties, as well as little perks and chances to advance in their career. Nutritionists advise people on what to eat in order to lead a healthy lifestyle or reach a specific health goal. Through the many years of education, post high school, nutritionists learn to assess patients’ and clients’ health needs. They begin with learning about their patients concerns and habits. Based on their findings, nutritionists provide customized information for the individual on adapting a healthy eating habit, and apprise patients on what foods to eat, as well as what foods to avoid to improve their health. Nutritionists work in an indoor environment typically in hospitals, care facilities, clinics, and other institutions. Most nutritionists obtain a bachelor's degree with a four year college experience in nutrition, dietetics, and foods. Many nutritionists focus their college studies on biochemistry, physiology, and food service management. For a higher education in nutrition, many go back to school and get a more advanced degree like a master's or doctoral degree. In order to get a job in nutrition many companies require several hundred hours of supervised training.
