Nutritionists are people who specialize in food and their nutritional properties. Nutritionists are well educated individuals with many duties, as well as little perks and chances to advance in their career. Proper nutrition is important in maintaining a long and healthy life. Most Americans are rushed due to their busy work schedules, and do not take the time to plan their diets properly. Like me, most Americans are unaware of the importance of eating a healthy diet and consume too many foods without the proper nutrients. Throughout my life I have been fortunate. I have not had any major health problems, and have been able to consume most foods without having to worry about gaining weight. These last two years, however, I started to gain weight and have become concerned with my diet. Changing my poor eating habits has been difficult for me, however, having this assignment has taught me that it is not as difficult as I previously
Writing down what you eat for three days shows you more about your diet then most would think. The paper, and 3 day diet diary we did was to help show us what we need to consume more of, less of, what we need to cut out of are diet, and lastly what we need to add to be a healthy individual. Wiley Plus was used to really show the breakdown of what we eat. I simply put what I wrote on paper into the Wiley food journal, wich furthermore puts everything into the catagories, and sections for you, wich was very helpful. I overall hoped my results would be decent, or average. The results I recieved were simply what I expected.
Registered Dietitians are food and nutrition experts. Dietitians can help in a variety of areas but especially in solving world hunger. One way they can help is by educating others. An example of this is working at a food pantry by providing their knowledge they can help customers pick the correct foods that provide nutrients and calories. A second way they can help is through research, by researching food insecurity dietitians can investigate the causes of food insecurity and also see the effectiveness of food programs. Although all of these members of the team are essential, the role registered dietitian’s play and the knowledge they contribute is vital to many different specialties in health care. According to a study by Kelly Adams, Karen Lindell, Martin Kolhmeier, and Steven Zeisel, only 30% of medical schools require an actual separate course in nutrition. Although their curriculum may include nutrition throughout the many different courses a physician has to take, this is an inadequate amount of time being spent on nutrition to be considered and expert in this field, which results in the vitality of having and maintaining a RD on their team. Nutrition can prevent and help treat many different problems that arise in clinical care and the different specialties that it entails.
In 5 years, I plan to have my Bachelors’ Degree in Nutritional Science from Kaplan University. Hopefully, I’ll be working through a Dietetic Internship Program and studying for my RDN exam. I would like to be a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist. After working as a professional for a few years, taking time away from the classroom and focusing the career itself, I may decide to purse a Master’s Degree or Doctorate. With either of those achievements and 1,000 hours of job experience or specialized training I can take the CNS exam to become a Certified Nutrition
Individual’s diets are influenced by various circumstances which means everyone’s diet is unique to them. I live in student housing at IUSB so I provide my own food the majority of the time. I keep the apartment well stocked, so food is always available. I usually eat lunch on campus at the Grill or Sub Connection, where food is also in abundance. The food I eat on campus does not cost me anything since I use the money put on my crimson card by the school. I receive $300 dollars a semester on my card since I live in housing. I do not spend a large amount of money on the food that I buy myself to stock the apartment. It probably adds up to around $50 dollars a month. I provide my own meals most days. When I go home, my parents always make dinner.
A Certified Clinical Nutritionist is someone who counsels clients on how to either maintain or create healthy diets and ultimately a healthy lifestyle. A bachelor degree, certifications and many hours of internship are required to become a Certified Clinical Nutritionist. Becoming a CCN does not only require an interest and a degree in Nutrition Science. To be a successful professional entails much more. This research will determine the specialized knowledge, skills, abilities, personality, and technology competency that will be attributed to the overall success and achievement in the future of a Certified Clinical Nutrition. An outline and overview of the educational requirements as well as, some career goals will be presented. This study will also take a detailed look at how some current issues in the health sciences relate to the nutrition science profession.
The three-day diet analysis was interesting. There were many positive attributes to it and definitely negative ones. Over the course of the three days, which were Friday, Saturday and Sunday: and figured this would give a good depiction of what I was consuming on a regular basis. In some places I was consuming more than I should be and in some I was consuming less than I should be. There were also those places were I was getting just the right amount. It is so interesting to me to be able to find out what I am consuming and how I am consuming it. Being an active male, it was most interesting of what I ate, what my average of the three days were, and the plan on how I would correct the way I eat to make it a more healthier lifestyle.

In some instances the terms nutritionist and dietitian are used interchangeably. However, there is a big difference between the two terms in the United State with the term nutritionist being less protected and can be used with anyone, while dietitians have to meet certain professional requirements.
A nutritionist helps others understand how the food choices they make can affect their long-term wellness. They also plan and prepare menus for many places (Burns). They mostly try to help others have a healthy eating habits to either prevent future diseases for example obesity, diabetes, fatty liver and heart diseases. They also help those who are already have these diseases be able to live longer or be able to at least not suffer from the symptoms of these diseases.
In the past few weeks, I have attempted to exercise at least 5 times a week, challenge myself by eating more fruits and veggies, drinking more water, eating more superfoods, and getting at least 8 hours of sleep at night. I also worked on overall improving my own wellness with more meditation, winding down at night before sleeping, and dumping the processed, unhealthy foods. At the beginning, I thought this would be simple, but as days passed, I soon realized how unhealthy my usual lifestyle is and how much better I was feeling focusing more on my health. From running a mile around the neighborhood to sleeping more at night, I saw an improvement physically and mentally.
