Technology is like a big chainsaw coming through a forest and cutting down a bunch of young California Redwoods. It weakens people and makes them reliant on technology, and they don't know how to do things on their own. It ruins social skills, causes obesity, and it drags down work ethic. It really is putting a bummer on people.
First and foremost, a lack of social skills is a very significant downer of technology. People get so used to talking to people on games, on the phone, or email, that they don't know how to communicate in person. One time my friend, who plays video games a lot, was gonna ask this girl out, but he didn't know how to talk to girls in person. His lack of social skills ruined his chances of getting a girlfriend. If he got out and communicated with people and not always behind a screen or on the other end of the phone, he would most likely be better with his social skills.Technology is continuing to hurt social skills, it causes obesity, and it ruins work ethic.

This happens because people aren't active and sit inside and use technology. I know a two hundred and fifty pound eleven year old. He hardly ever goes outside and does anything manually because technology can do everything for him. If he would go outside and be active, he would be in a lot better shape than he is right now. Our society is really being hurt by the effects of technology with the, lack of social skills, the causing of obesity, and the lack of work
I believe technology itself is not destroying us it is the way that we are using it which is our downfall. Technology has the ability to do so many things, but we are at the controls. In the book “Fahrenheit 451” everybody is consumed by their technology, and they are on it every second of the day. Take Mildred, for example, she is obsessed with this reality tv show and has even started calling that family her own. Mildred doesn’t care about money or her husband she just cares about their next technological upgrade.
Obesity in America has gotten out of hand with more and more people succumbing to illness such as, diabetes and heart problems. Yes, even with all the technology and advances in medicine humankind has actually more health problems than ever before. So why are there so many health and weight issues happening in today’s society? Simple, it is the American culture to invest time into work and technology instead of investing time into getting and staying healthy. Between busy schedule and other distractions maintaining a healthy lifestyle is difficult.
Tech Wreck Every day technology is getting bigger and better. But do we really know what effects technology is having on us, the human race? For starters many people complain technology is making us lazier, antisocial beings. Others argue there are devastating effects on the planet.
All this technology has led to less physical activity which is why America has so much obesity. For most people it seems impossible to go without technology since it has been something they were born
Today nearly 60% of America 's population is overweight, a statistic that 's only growing. More and more children are abandoning traditional forms of exercise for video games, television and other forms of a rapidly expanding simulated reality. Too many Americans today are more concerned with social media and popular culture than what 's going on in their neighborhoods and in the country we all call home. People are losing touch with their own realities. Furthering this argument of a lost touch with reality comes the notion and expectation things come easily and anything requiring hard work or discipline is voided unnecessary, which I believe is a side-effect of technology. The obesity epidemic has drawn considerable attention from policymakers, and while new policy initiatives to address the issue are already underway, new policy initiatives are not enough and are likely going to overlook the simple truth. Technology is a major culprit behind this nation’s obesity epidemic. Cell phones, video games and 600 television channels are making kids gain weight, and there is no easy way to solve the issue, other than to get off your couch, pick up a salad instead of a slice of pizza and get active.
Technology is created in order to make life easier. Technology can be use to do many thing for instance to read books, to shop for clothes, and to play games. Technology has a negative impact on human contact. Although technology made life easier by completing the tasks very quickly, technology still has a negative impact on human contact because of gaming devices, phones, television, and etc. Gaming device such as XBox and Play Station cause children to stay at home to play games and play for the entire day without going to sleep, instead of going outside and playing with other kids. Phones also have a similar effect as the gaming devices because children use the phone to contact their friend instead of meeting up at talking face
Last but not least, technology makes us lazy. Children do not want to read books anymore when they can just run to a computer and get the summary of the book. People are becoming obese because they are not getting out of their homes anymore to exercise because they are glued to Farmville on Facebook. We rather do something easy than actually take the time to do it the long way around. Technology has made the people of the world couch potatoes. We can do everything at a push of a button, and we don’t have to put forth much effort to do the things that we once use to do manually.
In this article it discusses how things like technology have an impact on childhood obesity. It is true children eat a lot today and it is usually not healthy foods like green beans, corn, etc. With today’s busy life children tend to consume fast foods which are filled with unhealthy calories. In addition children spend time in front of TV playing video games, watching TV or watching movies instead of going outside and playing and running around. The consequences for children can range from being bullied to having low self-esteem because they don’t like the way they look due to their overweight. Unless something is done then obesity will carry over from childhood into adult hood. This article is not surprising in some of the other classes it has mentioned how much technology has cut down on the exercise children due.
Childhood obesity starts at home. In many households today the television and the computer is a child’s best friend. Technology is one of the causes that contributes to children being obese. At a young age kids tend to spend most of their entire day using technology. When children sit in front of the TV, they are most likely to see, the broadcasting and advertising of fast foods. Nowadays, fast foods have gotten better in encouraging people to eat their foods. One is now able to order their food using phones and the television. Children are exposed to thousands of commercial every day. People who spend half of their day watching TV, have a higher risk of having obesity. One of the issues with this is the parent allow their child to sit and
Technology is everywhere from our cars on the road to televisions in our houses and phones in our pockets. Tech is very useful to production and manufacturing to construct the basic needs and wants for our survival. So right away, it’s associated with being something positive. When taking a closer look at tech though, is it really a good thing, or is it a hidden evil waiting to take us down from the inside? We have already let it into our lives full force, and already invited it into our houses. Could it be lurking, waiting for when we fully depend upon it to strike? It 's already in our lives and slowly forcing our dependence upon it. It 's only a matter of time before it handicaps us both mentally and physically. Technology negatively impacts our social norms.

A quarter of all adults and six percent of ages 2 to 20-year-olds are obese. Could you be becoming obese? Are the advancements in technology directly linked to obesity? In my opinion, the advancements in technology are linked to obesity. Technology is the application of scientific knowledge to create machines, devices and electronics such as phones and computers. Obesity is the condition of being overweight and having a weight that is 20% more than a normal person’s weight. As technology advances, the more people becoming obese are increasing. Technology is the one to blame for causing all this.
Food is always at our convenience, and everywhere we go there are billboards, advertisements, and commercials encouraging us to eat and drink. Places that didn't used to carry food, like the gas station, now supplies hot dogs, sodas, and candy. The new trend is that daily life, for all ages, doesn't involve much physical activity and exercise. If we want to be active, we have to buy an expensive gym membership and nice running shoes. Poor diets combined with a lack of physical exercise is the cause of our problem with obesity, and our situation is getting worse by the year. According to the World Health Organization, obesity is predicted to become the biggest cause of death in only 6 years. Obesity targets all people, no matter your age, race, status, or gender. A
Technology is continuously developing and has begun creating shortcuts for the American society. As a society we need to find a balance between our technological use and our everyday life. In my opinion, society has become too dependent on technology. The more advanced technology becomes, the more it seems to be gaining control over our lives. Even though technology is offering society many beneficial qualities; it also is causing many negative effects to occur. Technology is affecting society socially, mentally, and physically.
Society has become too dependent with technology in their lives because they're always on it, children are negatively affected, and it can become a hazardous obsession.
