He is the one who planned to use a wooden horse to get into the great wall of Troy and bring it down. Odysseus is the husband of beautiful Queen Penelope and the father of Prince Telemachus. He is very popular for his cunning. He is the favorite of the goddess Athena, who always sends him divine aid, but a bitter enemy of Poseidon. Poseidon frustrates his journey at every turn that’s why he struggles to return to his kingdom in Ithaca.

Penelope spends her days in the palace waiting for the husband who left Ithaca to fight in Troy for twenty years. She is a very loving wife and loyal to her husband. Penelope is a flat character because she never changed in twenty years waiting for her husband Odysseus. She still believes that her husband will come back even though it is almost 2 decades and her love and faith is never fading at all.
Alan Stenson as Telemachus Odysseus’s son. He was just an infant when Odysseus left the Ithaca. He’s such an obstacle to the suitors desperately wanting to have his mother, he lacks the confidence to oppose them. Athena also guided him sometimes.

Odysseus, king of Ithaca, was probably on of the greatest warriors in the history of Ancient Greece. It is said that the poet, Homer, wrote the story of the Odyssey. In this story, Odysseus and his crew are trying to make their voyage back home to Ithaca after they have fought with the Trojans. During the long journey, Odysseus will show some of his character traits which include his bravery, cleverness, and wisdom that will assist him with the situations he encounters on his journey home.
In homer's Odyssey the main character Odysseus is a person who only tries to help himself. Although he earns the trust of his men while in Troy, he loses it on his perilous journey home. Many times in the epic he manipulates others, commits foolish acts and is full of hubris. He tries to take shortcuts and as a result of this is men are killed and his boats destroyed. He plays with the lives of his men and he is punished for it. Odysseus is not a hero because, he is foolish, lacks faithfulness and is consumed by his Hubris and selfishness.
The most powerful female force in The Odyssey is the goddess Athena. She, more than anyone else, brings about Odysseus’ homecoming. The poem opens with her pleading with Zeus to take pity on Odysseus. Zeus issues the command to Calypso to free Odysseus. Athena guides Odysseus every step of his voyage to Ithaca. She tells Odysseus that it is she “who always stands beside [him], shields [him] in every
Odysseus is known for being a great war hero and leader who must go through many obstacles to reach his homeland of Ithaca. Many of the obstacles are caused by the gods, however Odysseus is the cause of his own troubles. He does not learn from his mistakes and his main flaw is pride.
In this book the little girl who we all know as Athena even gives Odysseus advice, ?A cheerful man does best in every enterprise, even a stranger? (Book 7). The interference by Athena shows how much she likes Odysseus and how much she wants him to make it home to the suitors.
The king of Ithaca, son of the god Laertes and Anticleia, married to Penelope and father to Telemachus, was the hero Odysseus. Odysseus is known for his cunning and brilliant intelligence. During Odysseus’ lifetime, he went on many adventures including a few that involved a cyclops, the Land of the Dead, and the Suitors.
She takes the form of Telemachus and helps him out by getting him a boat and a crew to sail to Sparta. Telemachus is sailing to Sparta to find out about his dad, Odysseus. Because Odysseus has a special place in Athena’s heart, she helped Telemachus find out more about his dad, she pushed him to become a mature man. At the beginning of the novel, Telemachus was afraid to speak up to the suitors but as the story progressed Athena gave him courage and at the end of the story he daringly fights them with his father.
Trip planning, divine inspiration, and social advice are a few of the many gifts Athena aids Telemachus and his father with. Athena is a key figure throughout the entire Odyssey. She seems to see the incredible knowledge both Telemachus and Odysseus have. Athena sees this as an opportunity to aid the two. The goddess, Athena goes to Zeus and persuades them that the time has come for Odysseus to try and reunite with his beloved son. Telemachus on the other hand is gifted with the curiosity of his father. Athena gave him this curiosity to help them reunite. The faithfulness of Athena shines throughout every move both Telemachus and Odysseus makes. They both have the urge to find each other with Athena’s help. While Odysseus and his crew were stuck on Calypso’s island, Athena convinces Zeus to send Hermes there. Hermes tells Calypso that the time has come for her to let Odysseus free. Without Athena’s faithful help, Odysseus would have been stuck with Calypso forever. With Athena’s extraordinary help, Odysseus is able to eventually find his way home. Athena’s faithfulness will always be an important part to Odysseus’s epic journey.

Also, Athena talks Odysseus through the extent of the Trojan helping him with battle. When Telemachus snuck out to find news of his father, Athena tells him to go home and he will find his father there.

The poem “The Odyssey”, written by Homer surrounds the epic hero, Odysseus, and his elongated journey home to Ithaca following the Trojan War. Throughout Odysseus's journey, a series of challenging events occurred. Odysseus was not forced to face these challenges unaccompanied for reason that the goddess, Athena served as a mentor to him by providing guidance in particular instances. One of the most significant examples of Athena’s mentorship to Odysseus takes place in the battle between Odysseus wife, Penelope's suitors and Odysseus and Telemachus. Although Athena originally did not want to partake in the battle, she concluded it after Odysseus murdered the majority of the suitors by holding up her deadly aegis, which made the suitor’s hearts quail and flee to her. She participates in the battle and slaughter of the suitors in a variety of ways which displays her significance and the major role that she plays.
Odysseus was the king of Ithaca, an island off the coast of Greece and also was warrior in the Trojan war who played an important role in the Greeks success over Troy. Odysseus is most recognized for his wit and intelligence.
